Utterly awful company
Utterly awful company, who rips their customers off so that they can pay big fat sums to their shareholders.
My bill has recently gone up by a whopping 63%, even though they have said that the average bill would be going up by 28%. Utterly discusting.
They also make it near impossible to contact them, pushing you towards either phoning them and then telling you there is a long wait time (I was 45th in the queue and gave up after 30mins), or you have to whatsapp them!!
I wish the Goverment would step in a deal with these unethical companies that we are forced to deal with!
High prices for low quality service
High prices for low quality service. Letting sewage out in to seas.
Monopolies can do what they like!
We moved, told SWW well in advance but we were still expected to read the meters old and new. I found one difficult to read (our old home) but the new one was impossible. I am elderly and do not do whatsapp so I tried to call (the best result was 68th in a queue). On the so-called live chat I gave up after a 40 minute wait. I emailed and an auto response promised a reply at some point in the future and all my text messages were ignored. Some service. In the end I tried calling on a Saturday morning just before the lines opened - by continually clicking redial I managed to get though ... to the Philippines! Tells you all you need to know really. They take Joe Public's money and do not give a you-know-what.
time to answer calls 50 mins
I rang up to pay my water bill and was on the phone and was on hold for 50 minutes which I think is unacceptable so I ask for a manager to ring me back and he could not say that the waits would not get any better he also did not know what OFWAT rules wher around answering calls as in time so I ask him to read up on them

UX is terrible.
Awful website.
It's a terrible company with useless support.
No disibility awareness, no help!
I've spent too long, on their site, looking for an email contact address so I can let them know my problem, I still don't know if they even have a email contact address, or why it's hard to find!.
I'm profoundly deaf so cannot use the phone, I don't own or have use of a smart phone so cannot access whatsapp and do not want it on my desktop, all I want to do is change the amount on my standing order but can't find their standing order on my online bank account, apparently it has been stopped? (chat help say), not by me so must be them, all this should be easy enough surely?!, NO IT ISN'T!, and unlikely to be unless they are forced to deal with a reaction from disability rights org, will that wake SWW?!.
i am an old age pensioner and i have…
i am an old age pensioner and i have been trying to speak to south west water for over a week since recieving my bill i am having sleepless nights as our bill has increased by over two hundered pounds a year every time i ring i am in a large que the highest over 100 and lowest 62 while a voice says we value your customer and thank you for waiting even tried on line with no success just get a message we are busy i think they are hoping people will give up
How do they justify 60% increase?
My bill for the coming year has gone up by 60%. WhatsApp messaging worse than useless. Call receivers just giving the usual blurb about rising costs. Surely such a huge increase is illegal? And a penalty tantamount to discrimination because I can't have a meter. Is there nothing more we can do?
80th in the queue
80th in the queue! I dont have time in my life to waste on SWW, but I have to.
Ofwat have stated that no bill should rise more than 38%, mine has risen by 42% and by looking at everyone elses reviews some are a lot higher than mine.
SWW on your website you say the average bill will be £610 this year, please explain to all of us who is this average?
SWW on your website you say bills will rise 41p a day, on my estimation my bill is £60 above that.
SWW on your website it says bills will rise by 28% , again on my estimation my bill is £70 above that.
Even if you add on the £50 the Government has taken from us it still does not come to my bill for this year.
SWW you are full of what you excrete into our water, you should be ashamed.
Nearly 50% increase in bill
My annual bill has just arrived. It has gone up by 42.3% on last year. Ironically, under the title "why are bills increasing", point 4 is to "provide affordable water for all". I am currently 56th in the telephone queue to query the increase, but my call is apparently important to them. On average SWW are giving 2 billion pounds a year to their share holders, and their CEOs have been getting 50% payrises. They have a monopoly, so there is nothing customers can do but complain and continue to be ignored. How is this being allowed to continue by our government?
just received my water bill disgusting…
just received my water bill disgusting how is it allowed
to be increased by 60% for water only. I have a septic tank no sewerage. Private water pipe down to my property which i had to put in myself there were no mains water to my property, Cannot have a water
meter for certain reasons i cannot make public, but i am unable to speak with SWW as i was 99th in the queue. Will certainly be raising this to 3rd party independent body. My salary has not gone up 60%!!!!!!!
Extortion
Extortion. Just received my 2025/6 bill. It’s a 62% increase on last year. In the press, SWW is saying bills have increased by an average 28%. The staff member I just spoke to said the average is more like 46%. No plausible or reasonable explanation for this increase. She had the nerve to mention inflation! It’s time something as essential as water was brought under government control - just not this communist government of clowns run by Comrade Starmer.
Still waiting for an agent to message…
Still waiting for an agent to message me after 1 hour day on their messaging service having been told I was number 47 in the queue on the phone. If this was customer service from my company the whole department would have been fired. As others have said, long over due for water companies to be back under public ownership. They are an absolute disgrace.
Just received my 2025/26 water bill
Just received my 2025/26 water bill. Just 2 occupiers of a rateable value E property - water only. The bill has increased by 60% from last year. How can Ofwat approve such an increase ?
Disgusting company
Disgusting company, £22 a month extra price hikes on my full time carer despite our eczma.
Abysmal lack of customer service
Zero stars. Abysmal. Cant even get through on Whats app or web chat to raise my direct debit ready for their price hike. Useless customer services, disgraceful contempt for the environment and under investment to pay shareholders. No other choice. Needs to come back into public ownership asap.
South West Water are virtually…
South West Water are virtually uncontactable by phone, WhatsApp or Facebook. They just don't respond other than by virtual assistant which can't answer.
I'd rate them zero if it was possible.
DIRTY WATER NOT FIT FOR DRINKING if…
DIRTY WATER NOT FIT FOR DRINKING if you go through the list of chemicals which they put in the drinking water it isn't fit for human consumption I don't know how they get away with this it's disgusting

If there was a 0 rating then that would be the rating choice.
SWW never take responsibility for any actions even if you complain.
Constantly discharging sewage into our rivers and seas and never being accountable for this. Always profit above people and we are supposed customers but they don't provide any contract between us therefore no contract no payments
Why can’t Southwest water get the simplest things right?
Southwest water another two hours spent on WhatsApp conversing with someone who doesn’t seem to know how there website works. The last bill. I spent two hours trying to login with the new billing system another two hours this time it won’t accept what you put in even though it’s correct. I was told that the four hours I’d spent trying was probably frustrating. They did away with the old app which was working perfectly, so I’ve gone back to paper billing so I still can’t login. I was given the amount I had to pay over WhatsApp when I asked for it. I paid it. I’m no better off now than I was three hours ago and then I get asked by the Customer Service agent who was helping me can I assist you with anything else? Ridiculous company time it went back into public ownership.
