Dangerous payment system and tickets not sent as pdfs

After paying for a non-refundable ticket I got a message saying that I'd been timed out and the transaction hadn't gone through, so I paid a second time. But it wasn't true, so now I've got two tickets, one of which I don't need and can't get a refund for. Plus they both came in a form that makes it very difficult to print them out; I don't know if the train is even going to accept a printout of a screenshot. Why couldn't you send a proper pdf?
