The host, Phillip, is an authentic and genuinely caring person! I partner with many friends including a senior therapist of 12 years who I've done multiple chair massage events with and we sought to partner up more frequently, so I contacted SpaMarketing LLC to get more clients for the both of us. She's a mother of two kids so she tends to work during the school day and I work with a Chiropractor until 5 myself so I use her studio in the evening and we split the cost. He was extremely encouraging, friendly and knowledgeable about the business side of things which is just as important as your massage skills. We've spoken thoroughly about what goes into the marketing process and how therapists can find success, and he was actually a lot of help. I practice Sports Massage, Lomi Lomi, Thai, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Myofascial Release, and Lymphatic Drainage, and I have found success in CrossFit and gyms working with athletes and have begun pursuing my personal training certificate, as those clients are more comfortable with male therapists, and Mr. Phillip did help me to figure out a much better plan than working at a spa franchise.
A lot of spa clients do prefer female therapists which is understandable, but if you're a male therapist, we want you to know that you can still succeed in this industry, you just need to find clients who are serious about pain relief, study as much about the body as you can and ideally dive into corrective exercise, stretching, meridian work and spinal health and you will be invaluable to serious clients with chronic pains.
