Our experience with this Marrakesh…
Our experience with this Marrakesh cooking course was terribly organized and fell far short of expectations. We were asked to arrive at 11 AM, only to wait over 90 miniutes with no chef present, despite repeated false assurances. The local contact offered a flimsy excuse for the lack of communication, stating he "didn't want to disturb us."
Crucially, the course did not deliver on key advertised elements. There was no proper ingredient shopping experience; ingredients were pre-prepared, and our market visit was a token five minutes for a single item after cooking. We did not make bread, and the lunch was two courses, not three. We didn't get any recipes shared. Yhe guide provided inconsistent and often incorrect information, contradicting other local guides we had encountered. The advertised tea ceremony was also absent.
The final food was only "OK," not exceptional. Furthermore, the guide provided inaccurate and contradictory information, and the advertised tea ceremony was absent.
This course was characterized by long waits, unfulfilled promises, and misleading information. We strongly advise anyone considering a cooking course in Marrakesh to look elsewhere.
