After leaving my review, I was asked to contact customer support again.
I did so, and customer support responded immediately. We discussed my case and assured me that the funds would be withdrawn.
And so it happened:
starting on January 27th, I received the full amount in four payments (approximately one payment per week of $1,000).
I'm grateful that my case was reviewed and the withdrawal was processed.
A small clarification: I'm giving it four stars (removing one star) because the withdrawal process (maybe just in my case) is processed in small instalments and because of this, it takes a long time (in my case, it took one month, not counting the waiting time beforehand).
