Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very good sounds here. As someone else already said, I'd like separate instances of celli and basses. Additionally, for the price, I'd like a few more sounds. However, the sounds that are here are lovely and quite useful.

This group has always been on my top for orchestral sounds, so having the ability to use them in a instrument is amazing.

A good bundle of string articulations on the more quirky side of things - not for general use, but you'll know if you need articulations in the style that this product has rather quickly from the demos and videos online. Nice and sharp, excellent for adding some added edge and quirks to other string patches when layering, or when you need to go a bit odd in your writing. There's no Legato options, but in this style, I feel like I didn't really miss it. What it does well, it does really, really, REALLY well... however... Such a shame that the Bass patches are only available alongside the Celli, and that you have limited microphone positions - I could've done without the mixes and would have loved more options in creating my own mixes. It's also a little frustrating when some patches are missing from some of the instruments - really miss the Short Staccato Dig on the lower end. I'm really pleased with its rather unique strengths, which is why I'm also rather frustrated by its shortcomings. This could have been a truly excellent library... Still worth it.

What amazing sounds are in this library! Perfect to inject into my horror scores.

Very different strings. I wish it contained legato string patches.

I will say it in a few words - if you need avant-garde techniques and realistic strings sounds, stop seeking. What Spitfire Audio did with London Contemporary Orchestra is something making me speechless because of the quality of these samples. Rich and dark sound with this kind of soul recorded there is everything what I need to express what I feel while composing and music production.

Fantastic sound/great project. I wish the interface was a little more user friendly but I appreciated all the help bubbles that pop up at the beginning. Made the experience a quick learn.

Excellent sound quality and range of timbres. A great collection of sounds if you want to explore writing with classical instruments in a less traditional way, or want a wider range of specialisms to increase your sonal arsenal for strings.

Not everyone's cup of tea. I wish it had more articulations for cinematic effects, but all in all a very good library that will considerably expand the palette of sounds.

I love the character of LCO Strings, and I'm happy to own them. Not only do I use it as an extra library, but I often use it instead of Logic's standard library, especially when I need to write for a small string ensemble. On the downside, some articulations are missing in the cellos. And it would have been nice to get more round-robins and a fingered/portamento legato. However, I have no regrets that I bought the library.

useful and good sounding, some rhythmical stuff is hard (impossible) to quantize and the selection of techniques is somehow okay but arbitrary in a way? anyway, no real critizism because one knows what to expect. Not happy about the absence of pure double basses though.

Great library, definitely a unique sound you will not find elsewhere.

Good dry library. Dynamic range of the shorts could be more. Overall satisfied, got my album done.
