Product details

Mercury samples fourteen one-of-a-kind acoustic sculptures, hand-crafted by Hollywood’s premier instrument designer, Chas Smith. These creations painted the unearthly soundscapes of Dune and Interstellar, sang heroic anthems for Man of Steel and The Hunger Games, and textured terrors throughout the Saw film franchise. All told, this collection delivers 600+ textures, tones, and pads—organic and synthesised in Solar, our new eDNA-powered plug-in.

Unique sounds, but that’s exactly what I wanted when I got it. Great product that was exactly what I was looking for.

Spitfire Audio's Mercury VST is a truly unique and inspiring piece of kit. It delves into the fascinating world of custom-built metallic instruments, delivering a soundscape that's both otherworldly and deeply resonant. Here's a quick rundown: * Unique Sound Palette: * Mercury excels at providing distinctive metallic textures, drones, and percussive sounds. It's perfect for adding an edge to sci-fi, horror, and experimental compositions. * The sounds are very unique, thanks to the instruments created by Chas Smith. * Powerful Engine: * The "Solar" engine, powered by Spitfire's eDNA technology, offers extensive sound manipulation capabilities, allowing for endless creative possibilities. * It gives the user a great deal of control over the sounds. * Overall Impression: * While it may be a niche library, Mercury is exceptionally well-crafted and provides a wealth of inspiring sounds. It's a fantastic tool for composers and sound designers looking to explore uncharted sonic territories. * It is a great tool for those looking for something that is not the standard orchestral sounds. In essence, Mercury is a testament to Spitfire's commitment to pushing sonic boundaries. It's a valuable addition to any composer's toolkit.

Great sounds. I would have given 5 stars, but the plugin hangs occasionally and has to be restarted within Bitwig.

Nice plugins with interesting and well recorded sounds. Nice to use, a bit big on the storage but there is a lot of interesting and high res samples in the mercury plugin I got. Amazing sounds and the UI is pretty comprehensive and allows a fair level of customisation and shaping of the elements. Quite cinematic but I will use it more for music production and atmospheres in tracks. This is the least orchestral thing Spitfire do and its pretty good!

I like the variety of sounds. Am having a little problem with the browser, but I am in touch with support, so I expect that that will end well. Playing with mixing different sounds is fun. As is messing with their parameters.

I previously purchased Jupiter, and Mercury works with this very well. There are a mountain of unique sounds to choose from. The only suggestion that I have is for an update that would separate the different sounds into categories, to make them easier to sort through. Overall though, I love what this library has to offer.

I like the huge variety of sounds and customizing options. The learning curve is not overly steep, but the huge variety of sounds means there is a lot to explore and it can be like learning a new instrument.
