A hodgepodge of things that are useful

Could use more elements/sounds/instruments, but I am overall satisfied with my purchase. Thank you, Spitfire Audio!

I see this collection as a new "spice rack" for my creative, musical recipes.

Love the quality for the pricing, and the ability to use / control dry wet on different mic placements - allows user to create many different sounds from one direct sample (more control and variety)

Great sounding instruments, however, some of the instruments are pretty limited.

I just bought the originals media kit from Spitfire. I am very pleased with it. Spitfire are the most amazing music software company, they are rightly applauded by many many YouTube beat makers and it isn't hard to see why. Some of their products are certainly at the premium end of the market but the Labs range is free and the Originals are very reasonably priced. I have many Labs plugins and the BBC Discovery collection and now the Media kit too. It's nice to see the commonality and the sounds are consistently excellent. The only reason I score 4 and not 5 out of 5 is accessibility. I am blind and find some software easier to use than others, the cost doesn't give an indication as to the quality of this aspect, some developers seem to take the issue more seriously or perhaps it depends on the development tools. Anyway I can load Spitfire apps relatively easily but find it very difficult to change patches within the plugin. I have to get my sighted partner to click through the presets and save each one as a track template. That works but isn't ideal. I have plenty of practice at compromise though and get further with this than I do with other suppliers products. In summary Viva Spitfire and thanks for the plugins! Paul

I do wish there was a bit more to this pack (even perhaps at a greater price tag), but what is there is a great start for any musician

It's fairly new and I've just used it once for an upcoming sync project, but the sounds and effect plate on the Media Toolkit are perfect. Let's see, how I can include it in conventional genres!

Excellent product with some really useful and interesting sounds. The piano is perfect and worth the price alone. Well done Spitfire. Keep up the great work.

After 2 weeks of use, I haven't yet exploited the content of this toolbox to its full potential. The piano sounds good to me but maybe lacks a bit of character for my taste. I often find my happiness in other Originals piano products like the Firewood/Felt or Jangle box piano. Softs are always full of personality, but I wanted a good grand. This one is good for the price. I still have to take the time to get the best out of it. Not an instant hit for me. The marimba and metalophones are really really great. The synth and pads are well done. The guitar is interesting : sampled guitar rarely sounds realistic, so it is wisely designed here in a more creative way to produce texture or blend in with the surroundings. The hits and the rest of the "instruments" (computer keys, plastic strokes, etc.) are more gadgets for me but could be very useful in specific situations and even become creative tools to create textures. At the end of the day you've got a lot of good useful tools in a very affordable kit. The fact that the money goes to charity is an additional reason to buy it.

Exceeded my expectations! I saw Paul Thompson demo this library some time ago, and was intrigued (computer keys? Plastic coat hangers?) and wanted to get it, but lacked the wherewithal at the time. Just lately, the wherewithal manifested (must have been all my affirmations, eh?), so I grabbed itl. In the time since I first saw the demo, I'd completely forgotten what else was in the library, just that it was quirky and that I wanted to get it. So imagine my delight when the first thing I found was a *beautiful* piano! And the next thing I found was an *awesome* set of synth patches, including a certain "ethereal" synth patch, which featured a "BR2020" slider. Play a few notes of this, and suddenly my house was full, and I mean FULL, of huge sound highly reminiscent of a couple of extremely cool sf movies among my very favourites. I played that patch for ages. And it has its own slider, for God's sake! My God! I love you, Paul Thompson! :) The computer keyboard was kind of interesting. And the coat hangers, hmm, not sure about those. And some of the other sounds didn't inspire me much--but, hey, the piano and all the various synth patches MORE THAN MADE UP FOR EVERYTHING! Hands up everyone who thinks Spitfire should do an Originals! library, "Paul and Christian's Favourite Synth Patches!" Because, dudes, have you seen Christian's lair, with all those synths on those racks? Just dying to be sampled? Come on! It would be totally off the charts! Thank you, Paul! You're awesome! :)

I use these sounds in everything from psytrance, edm, hiphop and intros. Its nice with those xtra soundlayers as signals, instead of mic-signals. The only logical next step from this (when i have the money for it) would be eDNA Earth.
