Product details

Brand: Spitfire Audio

Soft String Textures is the ultimate embodiment of the original Soft String Spurs concept. Featuring three of Dan's all-time favourite string players, this collaboration captures bespoke performances and articulations that have been workshopped to deliver stunning realism and emotive depth to your music. Formed of solo violin, viola and cello, Soft String Textures leans heavily on the musicality of three sublime players - Ellie Consta, Georgie Davis and Meera Raja. Recorded in Studio B at Spitfire Audio HQ, this library is intimate and immediate. Captured at 96kHz by an 8-mic array, each player was recorded individually for fine control. Alongside 5 core articulations, Soft String Textures also features 10 warps to add a hybrid element to your scores.

This library adds so much emotion to my strings arrangements. Absolutely ideal.

Dan Keen offers us excellent textures, evocative and which flesh out my compositions.

A fabulously realistic sound! It's like you have a string ensemble in your studio!

Awesome library. This will find it's way into more than one production.

It sounds beautiful and soulful, and it is easy to be expressive with it in a way that sounds authentic. It is also predictable which I appreciate very much, as it allows me to sculpt the performance I want without randomnness changing it up each time. I would have loved control over how smooth the texture sounds. Without reverb/delay, the patches can sometimes be too unstable sounding with individual strings varying in their expression so much. Delay smooths it out, but it could have been nice to have a crossfader for smoother tones or something. One issue is that it isn’t rendering properly with FL Studio. The audio drops out. My workaround is to record the performance.

Brilliant sounds for affordable price.

Interesting approach, and fills a niche that's not well covered by the zillions of other string libraries I already have. Nicely done!

Exactly the sonic profile I was looking for. I've tested and bought several solo strings libraries over the years. Most sound really good in a lot of different playing styles and compositions, but none passed the "Richter" or "Gregson" trio test. To my ears, they just don't sound like people playing in a trio or quartet in that kind of register, regardless of the amount of time spent on automation or audio chain processing. In my opinion, this library sonic profile hits that spot. Unfortunately it "only" features textures... Don't get me wrong, you get more then you pay for with this library, but I love the sonic profile so much, that I find myself wishing for a legato patch that would sound this good at 60bpm. Hopefully Dan and Spitfire will expand this library soon!
