It's OK. In my experience, it doesn't seem to be as expressive as demonstrated in the walk-through. I expected to hear more distinctions between the samples as I manipulate the mod wheel. They just sound louder or softer—as if I was raising/lowering loudness/volume. I can raise/lower the volume with any library of samples.

To get the silky smoothness and ambiance you personally seek, look closely at the many choices of Mics and other sound options available for you, and experiment! You will undoubtedly discover the sound you desire and it will not disappoint you. Like all Spitfire Productions, Appassonata rewards your ears with the professional blend of control and expression making your composition stand out. Play around with all the options. I'm really enjoying this instrumental library.

The sound of this library is incredible. The legato is very playable and I have not noticed any weirdness in the scripting as of yet. This is certainly not a workhorse library, but it can add that extra touch of realism alongside other libraries.

Absolutely amazing sound. They just take a long time to load. (Bout 10-20 seconds). Keep in mind that this is a LEGATO patch so don’t buy it if you know that you need something else. Extremely expressive instruments! The design is the best of the spitfire audio!

It's been a while since I was looking for a strings library with more details and controls over single instruments and sections to complement my Albion One pre-orchestrated strings library. Appassionata is a great companion for Albion One cause it's been recorded in the same studio: Lyndhurst Hall in AIR Studios.
