Product details

Spitfire Studio Strings marks the first release of a vital all-new Spitfire Orchestra range. Our ambition was to create an incredibly versatile pro-end dry stage sample library. By choosing the crisp and vibrant setting of AIR Studio One, a smaller, more controllable space than the opulent Lyndhurst Hall, we offer our fellow composers a string library with depth, detail, and focus all at once. It will work on anything from passionate period dramas to modern Scandi noir. It’s a fit for quirky indie and crisp pop but can also tackle epic film and games scores.

Great intimate Orchestral Studio String Library.

The sound is great. It's a bit disappointing that portamento and falls are only available in certain string sections.

Don’t bother with this one, out of tune notes and silent patches.

I've been a long time user of the free Lab series and took the long desired plunge into a full strings pack. Not disappointed. I especially love the rich, fat warmth of the violas and basses. My main criteria were: 1. The quality of the samples and recording. Spitfire was a no brainer there! 2. A relatively 'dry' room so I could use my own verbs. 3. Quick and easy user interface. 4. Played and blended well with other pads and synth strings Happy on all counts. I picked the Studio Strings because of the ability to mix between tight & dry and then bring in some of the tree. I'm a long time NI user so using the Kontakt interface was a no brainer, along with the added bonus of being AAX M1 compatible with recent Protools Universal Beta. Great stuff, I'll be back should I need some other sounds.

I was looking for a realistic-sounding orchestra with a big sound. Even though there are larger orchestras out there, I decided to go ahead with Spitfire Studio Strings. It has several ensembles, mikes and articulations. The recording is detailed, authentic and the room is tight. This gives me a clean foundation to which I can add effects myself later.

UPDATE: Spitfire had refunded me, was really patient, and gave incredible service. It's unfortunate the issue with Native Access was never resolved. I spent 1500 usd on the software and I cannot even get kontakt installed on my pc. The non-kontakt software works fine, but anything related to kontakt and native access does not install. Furthermore, I've been dealing with Native Access support and they have yet to solve my problem. My computer is top of the line and works with every other software. It would be great to get a refund on the software that is related to using Kontakt player.

I already had the core version and I realised that I used it a lot, so I wanted the better version, even though I have many string libraries. I have some string libraries that are maybe 'better', but they take up a lot of RAM, this one is very gentle on RAM so I can use many instances on my 16GB.

This is a very useful library with only a few minor things that I don't like about it. THE PRO'S: -Great, powerful sound that can be toned down for a more intimate and close sound -Huge variety of articulations -Useful "light" patches for less powerful computing devices -DIVISI SECTIONS!!!!!!!! Yepiiii THE CON'S -I had a hard time getting the legato patches te sound convincing and not "synth-like" or "plastic-like". Howevery, I do believe I will learn to use this library to it's full potential in the near futur. And there is a lot of help online. Spitfire's Walkthrough videos are very useful! -No "staccato" articulation. Only "staccatissimo". HOWEVER, you can use the very handy "time machine" patch to stretch in length the "staccatissimo" articulation to make it sound like a "staccato". In the mix, I think it sounds very convincing. -Noteworthy information: I purchased this library with a -50% discount. And for 249 euros, it's an absolute steal !! I aquired it as my first string library.

So incredibly versatile. The dry stage sound and the divisi sections allow this library to be used for just about anything, and the mic selection allows you to tailor the sound all the more to your specific needs.

The Studio Strings Pro are fantastic. They sound very soft if needed (the flautando often work better than a Synthpad) or cut through a pop/rockmix, when the mixer is switched to close. So for a Rock/Pop Arranger like me it is perfect. Good work

A well flexible string library. The microphones here are very useful as to how to design the room sound and reverberation. Loving it so far! Did a mock up on this recently and it doesnt dissapoint at all. Highly recommended for those who like to manipulate your own string sound styles.
