Lots of clearly captured instruments with minimal room ambience, so you can mix as you like.
One word, AMAZING. I'm at awe at what this product can do, and how it inspires me to create. Yes, it sounds great out of the box, but at the same time, I'm not limited to the sound it offers. That's why I've been eyeing the studio series for a while now. Finally, I've purchased my first product of the line, and I'm looking into completing the series. If I could only share my one wish, is that (hopefully) they still have plans to update the exisitng studio series with their latest legato engine aaaand, maybe a spitfireaudio studio percussion library?
An incredibly comprehensive collection of woodwind sounds and articulations - impeccably sampled.
Almost perfect! The microphone selection, different articulations, and variation function makes it a must have tool. But there are a few notes in the low instruments that require a check from spitfire. They have editing issues. I also found a few in Apassionata and wrote a support email, a couple of months later, still no response!

I love this library! It's incredibly flexible with the amount of instruments and articulations available, and the flexibility in microphone mixing is fantastic! Granted, the samples aren't perfect, but they are certainly great to fit into an orchestral mix. As I've said with other libraries, I probably wouldn't use this for a solo concerto, but if you're doing an extended solo piece, you probably wouldn't use a software instrument (with intent to have it sound exactly like a real instrument) for the final cut anyways. I use this for film scoring, orchestra mockups, and playing keyboards/synths live, and it sounds great for that. My only real negative is the clarinet solo. It's "fine" overall, but it's definitely the weakest link in this library, in my opinion. I only say this because it's such an important instrument in most of what I do, and it sounds the least realistic to my ears. I think it's because it has the least human imperfections, and it also sounds a bit too bright and brassy to me. Again, this is a relatively small complaint (I still stand by 5 stars), as I do use it a lot in orchestral mixes. It just doesn't shine in solo passages as much as the other instruments do. Overall, I definitely recommend this library. I think it's great for orchestral works especially. Most projects I do require a lot of very specific tweaking, so I need each instrument to be great as a solo or blending with others, and these do just that.
A significant upgrade to include more instruments... Very happy indeed!
The mic selections and articulations are marvelous, but the range of instruments is the real star of the show. Love the bass flute, contrabass clarinet, and cor anglais in particular.
This is not just a woodwinds sample library, This is the woodwinds sample library. This library includes many woodwinds instruments, which are very deeply sampled and beautiful stunning quality sounds to it. There is extra part of this collections, that is the extended techniques. With these things, we can make and add a quite unique and very impressive atmospherics sounds to the basic woodwinds elements.
I love the sound and also I feel the atmosphere of the studio. It's fantastic.
Exactly what i was looking for dry = malleable and articulations for days! Two little thing that could be improved are the flexibility with the key-switches - Creating your own set of articulation in one patch - Personalizing which keys are triggering the switch to avoid having key-switches keys the switch to nothing Other than that, i'm super happy with it ^^

Lovely articulation sets. This was one of the last things I needed for my library collection... although I'm sure it will continue to grow. I'd been eyeballing the symphonic set, but this one was more in my price range, and fits nicer with the libraries I already have... in my opinion. I love the extra instruments in the Professional grade, as well as the rather unique mic set. Thanks guys.
Absolutely excellent made library - nearly uncountable different sounds, so realistic - I love the possibility with this dry sounds to give them with additional plugins the character which I love most and fits best for my compositions.
