Awesome sound quality! Super smooth to work with, no matter what DAW you use.

For a product that is free the sounds are first class although a bit limited on articulation but then again it is free what more is there to say it's brilliant.

Amazing that this is free. Definitely makes me want to purchase the source libraries.

The Spitfire Symphony Orchestra is a real treasure trove of wonderful instruments. Purchasing this was a great investment, because the sounds of the instruments never change over time and so unlike modern synthetic sounds, this sample library will never be obsolete. Another good point is that any upgrades are free. This particular sample library was highly recommended by users online and after listening to Paul Thompson's walkthrough over the speakers I use in my home studio, it was apparent that the sounds and articulations were true to life. To me the realistic natural sounds of each instrument inspires me to compose. I like the many different combinations of microphone mixes too. This orchestra is really good value for money especially when you realise how much you're getting. I was very fortunate to purchase it in the August sale. I don't think you could find a modern workstation that could produce such good quality samples as these. The way forward is through the use of computers and sample libraries and a good home studio set up. The sound engineers must have a lot of patience to take so many samples of each individual instrument, this must have been a mammoth task, but it was well worth it for us composers. Well done to all at Spitfire Audio.

I think the SSO discover sounds good but for its size (5gb), the BBC orchestra sounds way better with way less space consumed. But I can't complain, the product is really beautiful.

Being an active composer and violist, O was [retty impressed with the library of sounds in the Spitfire Orchestra.

I wish that you could control the amount of reverb, for more of a close-mic sound, with more definition. I think that the latest version is installed, however- it doesn't sound any different than the previous version. It's hard to tell IF I have the latest version. Maybe if you guys changed the color, or look of the latest version- everybody would KNOW, 100%, that they have the 'new' & 'latest' version. I liked this years, ago, now- I'm not too impressed with Spitfire Symphony Orchestra, especially after hearing the updated LABS sounds- such as their cello.- which is VERY impressive! IF this was MY company- I'd step it up a notch, sonically, and give it a 'fresh coat of paint' on this plug in.

It's an improvement compared to the Discover I have for several years now. Getting used to the way Kontakt works, çause it's quite a different aproach. Happy to explore...

I love it. But one thing that would've made it the best product ever is one little detail. I know it has been meant for an orchestra feel and sound, but if the wind instruments could have been recorded like the "Sinaloenses" trumpets as well (with a big punch and some vibrato on the held notes), it would've been galaxy-amazing. I know, I know; a trumpet player might take it offensively (because even some of them play it a tiny bit out of tune, but purposefully). But if you show them a listen to the "Banda Sinaloense" winds section song (they usually play in thirds) they woudl go for it. Is just that the way they play it, the intention/style they do it, I absolutely love and have been searching for a good quality library with that intention. I would totally have upgraded if you had that form/style for the winds. Nonetheless, the library is of great quality. I hope I start using it soon; definitely 5 stars. Thank you
