Security screens are an essential part of Australian living. From keeping unwanted insects and intruders out, to ensuring your precious children stay safe, they make sense for so many different reasons. Terrible!

Worst experience I have ever had, trying to get a "free measure and quote". The customer service was terrible and the follow-up service, after I lodged a complaint, was non-existent. Don't waste your time with them, there are far better operators out there.

Poor installation

Poor installation, fitter decided to take my top trim away, without asking, left screws in the door, and lock and top rail, asked him to cut them down, he proceeded to grind right there in my kitchen, and left me to clean them up in two rooms, I have animals, not happy, one sliding to keeps popping out of it's lock, poor sizing on both doors, gaps on the track he put in, letting those bugs in, made me feel very uncomfortable on both occasions he has attended my house, these are not custom made, they are shody, fitter has damaged my existing door frame to butcher the screens into place!!
Edit, discovered the sliding fly screens are completely different to what was in it's place, it should be a top hung roller screen, and they deliberately changed it to suit this mess, one sliding door keeps catching at the top of the door, you have to push it shut, as such the paint has already started to scratch off, Jo was sent to rectify issues, sadly jo doesn't know how to fix this mess, received a gentle reminder to pay outstanding bill, yep, no that's not happening! Total botched company.

I have read the many negative reviews…

I have read the many negative reviews here and I can honestly say our experience with SP Screens at Erina was exceptional. The representative arrived when stated, provided useful information on the product we were seeking, the check measure and installation was completed without a hitch. I would certainly recommend SP Screens Central Coast.

SP Screens Kirrawee - Bad Experience

I would not recommend SP Screens Kirrawee to anyone. One young guy came and measured and quoted, they then sent a second guy to check the measurements and he changed the original measurements. Then the original young guy came to install but clearly no communication had happened on what measurements changed as he was frustrated with what had changed. The front door screen went okay but they didn't bring the door closer. The backdoor was where all the issues happened, the extrusion which was supplied was faulty and had to be reordered So the young guy left with my old and new door. A second attempt was made a few weeks later but using all the same frame as the first attempt so not sure what was going to be achieved but he left again still no door. The third attempt was made today and the door is finally completed 2 months after the first attempt. Throughout the whole experience I have had to chase to see what was happening not once has anyone contacted me with an update even when this was promised. Worst customer service and worst fitting of a simple door.

SpScreens installation of Security screens in Millfield NSW.

Dianne and I are extremely happy with the Secure view hinged Front door, the basix sliding doors and security screens installed in windows at our home in Millfield NSW 2325 yesterday. We would like to thank the staff at the Newcastle NSW branch for going beyond the call of duty and making this operation seamless. Thank you so much

They never made contact

They never replied to my request for a measure and quote. LocalSearch asked me for a review to which I replied "Haven't seen them yet". My review was rejected as "Vague". Prompted me to look online at other reviews. I think I dodged a bullet.

Poor quality product but expensive price tag

We had 2 x security screen doors installed 5 years ago. The locks were not working properly around the 12 month mark and they came out and fixed them. Since then they have been intermittently working and now don't work at all. SP Screens stated that the warranty is up on the locks so if I want them fixed they will charge me for it. The doors/locks were expensive and you would expect value and longevity from the product when paying the price we paid. They were not the cheapest quote we got. Very disappointed with the quality of this product and very suspicious since it was both screen doors that failed.

Disappointing - declining quote request in their service location

Called SP Screens for a free measuring quote as advertised on their website - this in a bid to support local businesses and also to re-use this particular Service provider as I used them previously (to ensure the security screen type I use now matches up with the first batch they supplied and installed a couple of years ago). Got told they don't do area code 4509 (North Lakes) anymore... EVEN THOUGH their website CLEARLY STATES and lists all areas INCLUDING North Lakes and most surrounding suburbs as part of their service location(s). I guess I will take my money and business elsewhere.

Very disappointed - No show

Very disappointed that i made a booking for measurement and quote 2 weeks ago (phone operator confirmed on the phone) waited more than 30minutes, no one came. During this time of COVID-19, i am willing to support local businesses, seems like this company is not interested with new businesses. Totally understand sometimes there might be situation that they can’t come, but a phone call would have been great!

Hi Dora, thank you very much for supporting other small businesses during this challenging and stressful COVID time. Of course SP Screens value all customers and appreciate the opportunity to offer FREE in-home consultations. Our customer support team tried to phone you multiple times to let you know that our rep was held up at the job he was at before yours. Unfortunately, you did not answer your phone or return our messages to give us a chance to explain. Our team are not perfect but we do try our best to communicate when things don't go to plan.

The security screen doors are of great…

The security screen doors are of great quality however I would not recommend SP Screens based on issues experienced post install.

I had 3 security screen doors installed and have been generally happy with the quality and security of the doors, however have needed FOUR call outs to fix issues within the first 6 months, and now at 14 months in, need another call out.

The warranty is 11 years, but only for certain parts (the parts that you are likely to not have issues with). The parts that are likely to break (locks, handles, hinges, door closers) only have 12 month warranty. When these break, they're not cheap to fix! Even when in warranty, you still need to pay a call out fee to get things fixed.

For the price you pay, you'd think it would give you peace of mind. But frequent issues arising has been a total headache.

Hi Jade, I'm happy to hear that your security screens doors are of great quality. It is common practice in the security door industry that locks, handles, hinges and door closers warranty are covered by a separate manufacturers warranty. Our warranty terms can be found at https://www.spscreens.com.au/warranty/.

Good job

We have contracted SP Screens to install the sliding doors and windows screens for our house in January 2020. The job has been done very well. The staff who came to measure the doors and windows size and give quotation is very knowledgeable and friendly. The quote was very competitive. The staff who came to do the installation was very professional and completed the job very tidy and clean. The doors and windows screens have been used for a month, they are really good. We are very happy with this company.

Poor communication

I agree that the process could be disappointing. The feedback I given to the company was not taken seriously with the installer.

The installation was incomplete due to missing parts, therefore the flyscreens were lying around my tiny unit since Dec.

I got a call from the company last week that it is now ready to install & I should receive a call this week, so far on Thursday, no call.

I also mention that the flycreen in the bathroom was taken away and the office didn’t aware of this so please take note as I hope the next installation is to complete the task.

Will I recommend SP Screen? Probably not based on my experience so far.

We had a great experience with SP Screens

We had a great experience with SP Screens.

After trying for 2 months without success to have anyone visit our home and quote to replace 3 old cedar gates, I was thankfully referred to SP Screens by another company who had said they couldn't help us as "we were not in their area". I didn't know northwest Sydney was obviously such remote area.

SP Screens responded immediately and positively to my request to quote and Chris Noble visited us just 6 days later. We received the quote from Chris the same day as promised which we accepted (19 Nov 2018).

Due to Christmas shutdown we weren't expecting the gates would be installed until late Jan/Feb 2019 at the earliest.

I was pleasantly surprised last Monday 7/1/19 when SP Screens advised the gates were ready and could be installed as early as Friday 11/1/19 which they were.

Installer Russ did a great job and we are thrilled with the result.

As someone who has worked in senior customer service roles for more than 25 years I cannot fault SP Screens for their professionalism and service.

Based on our very positive experience I have no hesitation recommending SP Screens to anyone considering engaging them for their professional customer service approach and the quality of their work and people they have working for them.

Poor customer service

I paid the 50% deposit on 2 March 18 after being quoted a 5 week turn around time because they were busy. After 5 weeks I would call weekly to be promised a call back. That only ever happened once. The job was finally completed on 22 June 2018. The job took so long because of their manufacturing errors. You would think priority would be given to fix their mistakes. Customer service is appalling and management don’t seem to care either. The sales and installation teams were good. Disappointing overall experience

Hi Kai, I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience with us and that our customer service was not up to scratch. I can see on your file that the customer service rep assigned to contact you regularly, did not do so which is unacceptable and definitely not the service we strive for. This customer service member is no longer with SP Screens. Unfortunately, a very small percentage of the thousands of screens we install every year do not pass our quality control which can lead to installation delays. In your case, your install was on track for the 5 week deadline however, the mesh was a little dented so we sent it back to our factory to be reworked. We apologise for this inconvenience and we are very happy to hear the final result and installation was to our usual high standards.

Family company

Family company. Paid deposit 29 May Installed 31 July. They took 50% deposit which I felt was too much. Measurements had to be done 2 times, Installer had to come 2 times, which means we had to be at home. Had to call the people to keep getting updates. They don't call back even if they say they will. They don't come in the allocated time. They came 1.5 hours early.. lucky we eerrr at home. And its not cheap. In summary, very very poor experience. I gave feedback to the company, they said they will look into it. Only Pro is, the door seems good quality.

Hi Jackie, thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are thrilled to hear you are happy with the finished product and the high quality of your door, we are proud to say the majority of our customers are happy with the quality of our product and work. We do apologise that our installer had to check measure your home twice unfortunately, he missed the lock height measurement the first visit which was an honest error and we apologise. Sydney traffic can be unpredictable so occasionally our installers run a little early or a little late and some jobs do finish quicker than expected or run over which can affect the arrival time for the next job however, we try to call and update the customer on any changes, I apologise if we did not do this for you.

Terrible delivery and customer service.

3 and 1/2 months since I paid a deposit and still no date for installation. Communication has been terrible, promised updates never happen, told that it was in QA ready for delivery then later on being manufactured the following weekend but based on advice today it is still not manufactured.

Emailed the manager and they have not bothered to respond so what do you do. I have paid 50% deposit and still have nothing other than it is a factory problem and the customer service person says they are telling me what they are told by the factory. No customer service at all.

Hi Barry, we do apologise that we have not communicated as we should have with you. Our customer service did miss the mark with keeping you up to date on the progress on the installation of your slatted fencing. We did have a miscommunication internally (human error) where we thought that one of the components required for your installation had not been powder-coated however, this has now been rectified and your screens are ready for installation.
