Leader Jacket Fell Apart - Crickets from SPYDER

On April 10, 2026, I washed my like new Spyder Leader Jacket for the first time following the label instructions. When I removed it from the dryer (delicate setting with low heat as the label advised), the two front pocket, cuff and chest zippers were ALL totally separated from the jacket shell. The pockets with their associated zippers were all floating inside the jacket and the jacket insulation was clearly visible through the gaping holes left by the missing zippers. I noticed that the other zippers were sewed on. Did they forget to sew these, or was the glue just defective. The zippers were fine until this first washing and now there is absolutely no residue of glue or any signs of any means of securing the zippers to the jacket shell. This is an obvious manufacturing failure and it would be hard to believe that my jacket is the only one effected.
On April 10 I tried calling Spyder Customer Service but no phone number I could find worked. I then sent an email to Spyder Customer Service regarding the obvious manufacturing defect with my Spyder Leader Jacket. As of the writing of this review on April 17, I have still not received a reply or even acknowledgment that Spyder has received my email.
On April 13 I completed a warranty claim form at the Spyder Web Site. Although the Web site told me that the Claim was submitted successfully, I received no email confirmation or acknowledgment of any kind.
On April 15 I sent another email to Spyder Customer Service. No Response. Ignored as well. This is not how I expected Spyder to react to a customer concern.
On April 16, I made my fourth and attempt to contact Spyder with an email. Again, no response.
I have received absolutely no response of any kind to my Warranty Claim and numerous emails to Spyder Customer Service. All have evidently been completely ignored.
None of the phone numbers you’ll find will connect you to Spyder, including the one listed at the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for Spyder Active Sports Inc. in Lafayette, CO. It appears you can still order merchandise at the Spyder Web site, but there is absolutely no way to contact them. I assume that they are nearly out of business.
Good luck if you buy any of their overpriced junk. You’ll need it!

Destroyed after washing as instructed. Poor support.

I am sharing a very concrete experience with a Spyder jacket.
The jacket was in excellent condition, with no damage or issues. At the end of the ski season, I washed it exactly following the care label instructions (30°C machine wash).
Result: the jacket was essentially destroyed.
All pocket seams failed at the same time, and the internal linings detached across multiple areas. This was not a minor issue, but a complete failure after a standard wash.
A product should not become unusable simply by following the manufacturer’s instructions.
I contacted customer service, shared photos and full details. The only solution offered was a paid repair, involving shipping, additional costs, time, and no guarantee on the final result.
In practice, not a real solution.
After I explained why this was not reasonable, I received no further reply.

Ordered 2 items

Ordered 2 items. Was given a delivery date of 3/24. Received 1 item on 3/23. No information re:second item. No expected delivery date but they charged me for both when I placed the order. Called the customer service number and got a message not accepting messages and hung up. Sent an email to customer service and got no response. I guess the next step is to call my credit card and cancel the transaction. Great clothes, lousy service.

No customer service - they are a “ship only” company

Spyder has no customer service — call the phone number they supply and get a message that they are not taking phone calls and to use the customer service email they supply (message also says emails will mostly be answered within 24 hours).
In my case they charged sales tax on a ski jacket i bought. Shipping address was Massachusetts and Massachusetts does not charge sales tax on clothing. No response after 10 days - they did send the coat. I would send the coat back but it’s clear there is no customer service! Im guessing they would get the coat back and not refund my purchase price.

Worst customer service

Worst customer service ever I completed a survey and was supposed to receive a gratuity sock email several days after I did not receive the email for 2 1/2 weeks and only after pestering Spyder. I then received the email and tried to apply the code for the free socks and it didn’t work. I continued to email and was then told it’s only specific to one pair of socks. I then again continued to try to redeem the socks and repeatedly emailed Spyder indicating the code provided to redeem the socks, does not work eventually after another week the informed me that the code is only applicable to United States customers something that was not outlined during the initial survey that was provided absolutely preposterous customer service. They can’t even provide you simple details in one email. It took me over three weeks in order to determine that the offer is invalid to anybody outside of the United States they then suggested to me that I purchased socks and they would refund me for the socks, but no, I’m not paying exorbitant amount of shipping to receive something coming from the United States according to Spyder the only country that apparently matters to them is United States citizens there is more in the world than the United States and from now on I will not be purchasing any products from spider. I am 52 years old have purchased well over $20,000 worth of items during the course of my lifetime and will not continue any longer. It’s not products that retain customers any longer it’s customer service all the product products are typically made in the same locations so if your customer service is pathetic, so is the company.

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware! Don't order from them. They fail to meet delivery times. They charge you for an overnight and after placing the order and paying extra for shipping they inform you it will arrive a week later. No one answers the phone EVER. They refuse to cancel an order once it's place in spite of it not shipped yet. They will not refund if the product is on-sale. I finally put a stop payment with my bank. Worst manufacture customer experience. Go to Helly Hansen or elsewhere! Deceptive practices.

AChild's expensive coat after one month lokked liked dog's breakfast

An expensive child's Sypder jacket -didn't even last one month. Not washable and looked like a dog's breakfast. I ended up contacting Spyder in November asking for help and it took until now to hear from them. Of course, I ended up buying a new coat as my son could not wear the jacket. Spyder said the warranty did not cover this and that -but a child's coat should have good wearing fabric and be easily washed. So disappointed with this brand - going back to Columbia and Healy Hanson. Bye Bye Spyder

I am writing to report a serious safety…

I am writing to report a serious safety issue with a pair of Spyder pants I recently purchased.

While wearing the pants, I was injured when a sharp object pierced my skin. Upon inspection, I discovered what appears to be half of a broken sewing needle embedded in the joint area of the pants, likely left there during the manufacturing process. This caused me physical injury and could have resulted in even more serious harm.

This is extremely concerning, as clothing should never pose this kind of danger to the customer. This company is not taking responsibility for a manufacturing problem. They pretty much told me they can do anything about it.

worst company ever

worst company ever! they will haves sales but not enough stocks, it happened 2x, I purchased a jacket and was billed, I haven't received any email notification of the tracking number, I had to hunt down customer service, no reply on the chat and email, was on hold for the call for a long time, when I finally get a hold of them, they said no more stocks! so why have sales with no stocks? They scam you until you forgot you ordered something and not get it.

They don't honor their Guarantee

Here's another company to add to the sh#t list! I sent an e-mail to customer service asking for their number because i told them i hate typing and no response. Then i sent another e-mail saying that my jacket is ripped at the seams and it was never worn which clearly states on their website that they cover poor craftsmanship but it's a lie. Don't order anything from them they don't stand by their products and they will just ignore your e-mails.

Worst customer service

I placed an order and the customer service was a disaster: they don’t allow changing the shipping method, don’t let you cancel, don’t answer calls, and lie about the shipment status. Not recommended at all – very unprofessional company.

Customer Service is a Zero!

If there was an option to leave a zero star review, I would. The Spyder team's customer service is appalling. Full disclosure - over the past fifteen years, I have purchased dozens of ski jackets, ski pants, base layers, etc from Spyder. It is the only ski apparel my three boys wore growing up. While I've never had an issue with the apparel, this is the first time I've interacted with their customer service team. For starters, there is no working phone number to contact the team. Of the two phone numbers listed, one goes to a telemarketing agency (303) 544-4000; and the other goes to an unidentified voicemail mailbox that is full. I tried the live online chat feature on their site, and the message said a rep would respond in a couple of hours. I emailed customer support and the response I received was a head scratcher. Today's order contained six items that were all discounted as part of Spyder's Labor Day sale (marked final sale). I have no issue with a final sale and understand there is always a risk something may not fit, product descriptions sometimes vary and pictures aren't always an exact match. While frustrating, this is a risk that I am willing to accept. Here's my issue. One of the items I purchased was a $500 Mens ski jacket . I bought this same jacket for another one of my kids less than two weeks ago. With today's purchase, I accidentally chose blue (instead of black), which was what I intended to purchase. I recognized the mistake immediately and frantically tried to contact Spyder by phone, email and live chat. Here is the exact conversation. I'll leave it to the reader to make their own judgment on whether they want to continue purchasing from this company. Sadly for my family and me, it's a no! Hi,

I just placed an order but I need to change the color of one item. They are final sale so I need to contact somebody asap. I tried to find a phone number for Spyder support, but none is listed. Please contact me so I can swap the mens Tripoint jacket (s) in blue for the mens tripoint jacket in black (s). Hello XXXX,
Thank you for reaching out to Spyder Customer Support. Unfortunately, once an order has been placed, we are unable to modify its contents, as our warehouse processes orders quickly. All sales are final, and no changes are allowed after purchase.

Best -
Spyder Customer Support
Octavio

Thank you Understood. But I sent this email less than a minute after the order was placed. We are very good customers - check our purchase history.

Thank you.
