Poor materials shoddily manufactured

Paid almost £30 for "die cast" long shackle weatherproof combination padlock. This was to replace a previous unit which disinteregrated under fairly modest pressure.
The replacement appeared poor quality material and shoddily manufactured.
The opening action was stiff and clunky. The waterproof plastic/ rubber cover fell off before the unit had even reached its destination.
I mistakenly believed the Squire brand meant good quality.
How wrong I was

Purchased a CP40 padlock from Squire’s Amazon shop.
After just 6 months the lock now fails to open which means my shed is permanently locked.
Squire’s response was “cut it off and they will replace”. Cost of the tools to do this are around £30-40(3 x the cost of the lock). They are located just 3 miles from my property but will not come to site to sort
