Canceled CDN Service, No Pro-rated Refunds

Canceled CDN services company wide. The end date was the 22nd of the month, they still pre-charged for the entire month of service. Trying to cancel and get a prorated refund has been fruitless. You have to question who is making the decisions at this company. Thankfully they no longer offer CDN services. I would still carefully consider what other services they offer since they don't care about customers too much.

Awful

Awful, avoid the company altogether. First, they made a huge price increase, and then they dropped the WAF plan totally with only a few weeks of notice. This is indicative of some very bad decision making in high levels of the company. They cannot be trusted with your company's data.

Poor communication

Price increase, POP's closed then closure. Could have just been upfront to begin with. Also claim to have communicated this prior to when they actually did.

You can't trust them, build on them

I was fine with the price increase earlier this year - if that's what it takes for them to continue their service, I'll pay it.
But now it turns out it isn't enough - with less than 3 months notice, they announce that they're pulling the plug on their CDN offering.
For us this means sudden reprioritization to move our white labeled SaaS CDN elsewhere.

So yeah - extremely unprofessional and really weird. I wonder what's really going on there - this is such a huge red flag, even if they would extend the deadline I would (and will) move my services away asap.

Price Increases + Support Decreases

Added the following new fees:
- "energy surcharge" fee - a set fee based on previous usage. We reduced our usage by around 90% but the energy surchage fee remains the same (hundreds per month)
- "origin shield" fee - previously no cost for using origin shield, now it costs extra (no other CDN company charges for this)
- "support" fee - have an issue? Well now you have to pay to resolve it. Cheapest support is $199 per month and that's just email. Replies come within 3-5 days most of the time

We were spending thousands per month with Stackpath. Now just moved to BunnyCDN for half the price and couldn't be happier!

Thieves

Thieves, from $20 a month for four years, they now charged me $450 last month and again $850 this month... without my consent and this is a lot of money...

STAY AWAY - They refuse to answer emails and stealing from everyone...

They just disabled the account

We have been using Stackpath for an year. Suddenly our websites stopped working. Tried to login into console - no luck. Contacted support and it's appeared that they just decided that our account isn't suitable for Stackpath and disabled it!!! Without notification. Just a ridiculous service. Don't even think to use Stackpath.

Price Increase Bait and Switch.

Wow! So we are not the only one affected by this! We have been with them for 2 years. We didn't realize they jacked up the price by 600%, going from around NZ$35 to NZ$200/mo. We found out about this only after our accountant did our GST report (every 2 months). We kept going back and forth customer service for a refund. They kept saying they sent price increase notice back in Feb. But I didn't read it. I bet people here who experienced the same have missed that email too! Emails could go to junk folder, etc. A notification upon login to their platform would have gotten the message across to me and I would have discontinued the service back then. I even reported this to BBB with Complaint #19962897. They also said it was on Promotion but I checked Web Archive and in 2021 the E20, Edge Delivery 20 service is just like regular service, not a promotional item. You can check it under their sales partner programs in the web archive. We were charged NZ$89.95, $181.71, and $196.73, until our accountant flagged these. I have also reported this to my bank and they have raised a dispute with MasterCard. And also told them I can't delete my MasterCard on their platform. It only allows me to edit address etc. So basically they have to issue a new Card for me and cancel my card. I hope BBB and MasterCard read this and see for themselves how many people got affected by this. We need our money back. It's an unfair business practice banking on customers who missed reading their email notice. We should all write/reference this to Visa/MasterCard and BBB so they can take collective action on them.

StackPath used to be CDN which was phenomenal. We had legacy pricing. Suddenly in Feb 2023, our plan went up a whopping 275% without prior notice. In addition, the USD/CAD dollar at 30% to 35% makes this entirely overpriced for us. Support went utterly downhill, with online and call support removed and hidden. Services were reduced and removed, and pricing went up. We carried it another month out of courtesy to our clients, then left.

Stackpath shutdown my account without notice, after being a customer of them for 7 years

Trouble started when they single-sidedly announced a number of extra fees for energy surcharge and services that were specifically waived in my contract. They didn't provide any information on the costs before they started charging them, which was a breach of their own service terms which required a 30 days notice period for any price changes.
So I used my right to object the price changes and get out of the contract early. Stackpath ignored my request for a week and then ultimately cancelled my whole user account with immediate effect even though I asked to leave by the end of the following month.
They brought my whole organization to a complete halt with that unexpected shutdown. Fortunately I had already set up a backup CDN so I was able to switch over in relatively short time, but Stackpath's behavior can't be excused.

We experienced a 275% price increase on…

We experienced a 275% price increase on our account with no warning. So we cancelled the account as soon as we noticed the over billing. We were not refunded for the prior month of overcharges.

Steer well clear - bandits

TOTALLY INHUMANE treatment of customers. As others reported, their package went from £20 to £100 with ZERO notice. No time to move kit and DNS, just 500% - they also double billed me for the period and had absolutely zero customer care about any of it. I would steer well clear - your services are not safe with these bandits

RIP OFF Stackpath

Something very strange is happening with this company, I signed up a few years back and always found their support to be absolutely amazing.

A week ago I discover they have billed me over $130 for a month - just back in December I was paying around $30 for the same service.

I know there is global inflation but come on, what a way to destroy a good company. It turns out they have started billing me for services I have never subscribed to and have not responded to my billing support email on the matter almost a week ago.

Not even a "we're looking into this". Nothing.

I would no longer recommend this company. I will be leaving them shortly.

Scammers

Scammers. I’ve been a customer for 5 years and they bumped me from $20 a month to $125 without my consent. There is even an article about how they grandfather in old plans. Don’t fall for this. Filing with BBB and doing a fraud report.

130% price increase

I joined Stackpath 2 years ago, at the time their basic CDN option was $10/month before increasing to $12/month. Last week the company informed me the price is increasing 130% to $27.50/month. Suffice to say, I have cancelled and moved to a competitor (#1 in this field) who I didn't know offer the same service for FREE.

Long time client cancelling services

Been a long time client. Today we were hit with a surprise invoice for a ridiculous percentage increase on services. And evidently you can't use live chat to talk to support anymore. It took me all day, but I just got done disconnecting 30 sites from over 3 separate client accounts, disabled services, asked for refunds.

I've been a customer for 5 years now. Today I was emailed saying they would be increasing their prices. Long story short the cost of my service has now been increased by 500%.

Will be leaving them very shortly.

Lousy Tech Support

I noticed that my website was not displaying properly nor was my SSL working. After speaking with my hosting provider the SSL was tracked back to Stackpath. Things happen, I get it but then when I needed tech support most I find that all I could get was email support. I've got a website down and I have to wait hours or more for a response? No way. When I finally got a response it was TS sending me knowledge base files and contradictory information that was making things worse. I was frustrated. Their support is abrupt as if they just don't want to be doing their jobs. How can you have customer facing people without any patience that treat people like they're stupid?

I finally decided to wipe everything out and start from scratch. I got halfway through the setup process and then scratched my head wondering why I was putting up with lousy customer service. I'll just go somewhere else and that's what I'm going to do. I cancelled my subscription and I'm moving on.

If you are not an enterprise customer with $$$ to spend on tech support then stay away.
