We had a great experience getting several jobs done with Ronnie and Adam from Stag Builders of Hertfordshire. Roof and lining replacement, gutters, soffits and fascias, and interior redesign of internal wardrobes.

Always professional, on time, responsive and courteous. Ronnie also brings his bags of experience to highlight considerations about how to approach improvements that will save time and money in the future which is that invaluable bit of wisdom you want.

I'd highly recommend using Stag for any home improvement.

Ronnie and Adam were incredible from the off. They explained everything to us and took us through the whole process. The quality of the work was exceptional. The communication throughout the job was great.

We found STAG Builders by chance and are so glad we did! As first time buyers with a complete "dooer-upper", they were incredible. They advised us on things we'd be able to do ourselves, to cut costs down, & also gave us their professional opinion on anything we asked along the way!

They kept us informed and gave us a timeline so we knew what and when things were happening and when we were expected to be finished. Adam and Ronnie's workmanship was great as well as their customer service with quick informative responses and we thank them for making our first house a home for both of us and our new baby! We'll be using them for any future projects we find ourselves undertaking!

I recently had a rear extension done on my property in Markyate by stag builders, they were very professional and punctual. I am extremely happy with all works carried out, Ronnie and Adam kept me informed throughout all the process of works carried out. 100% would recommend. 5* company.

Workmanship was OK but the management was awful - they were very unpleasant to deal with and we felt they were trying to find ways to charge extra at every turn. They outsourced their electrical and plumbing works and it was not well coordinated. Overall, service and communication was poor. Can't quite understand how others had such different experiences albeit Adam did seem more reasonable and client focused than Ronnie.

Stag conducted a really professional refurb of our old property which needed a lot of work doing! Works included a room extension, new bathroom install, new stair bannister and replastering of several walls; all of which were completed with a neat white paint finish. The team also fitted both levels of the house with new wood flooring. In hindsight we would have asked Stag to source the wood floor and electric works, as the other companies we contracted were a bit unreliable! We would definitely recommend Stag builders for anyone looking for similar renovations works.

Always a bit nervous using trades people for the first time but these guys put my mind at ease. They accommodated my requests to keep some awkward features and came back to fix snags very promptly. Would definitely use again :)

We used STAG builders for our garage conversion and couldn’t be happier with our new home office! Both Ronnie & Adam are exceptional at their work and know their trade inside out. They were professional, reliable, trustworthy and punctual builders that were a delight to work with. Ronnie & Adam communicated clearly with us throughout the conversion and even gave us notice when the electrics & plumbing work would be done so we could make alternate arrangements. One evening our boiler stopped working and Ronnie sent his plumber out to us at 9pm to sort it out as we had 3 young children at home- top service! Ronnie & Adam we can’t thank you enough for all your hard work and we hope we can work together again in the future. The best in the business!

One of the best decisions of my life was employing Stag Builders of Hertfordshire to complete a conversion of my garage to an internal room in my home.

Adam and Ronnie were amazing from day one onwards. I did a lot of research when shortlisting to secure a build company but almost from the moment I met both Adam and Ronnie I felt safe, secure and very confident in their abilities.

Being my first experience I was probably over cautious and questioning.... however nothing was ever too much trouble. The professionalism, workmanship and communication between us was second to none.

Adam and Ronnie are skilled builders who work very hard. They thoroughly assessed the job on hand, carried it out to an exceptionally high standard always leaving my home in an immaculate state every day ready for the next.

The end result is amazing. I have a fantastic new room in my home that seamlessly opens on to my lounge creating one big functioning space. You would never know it was once a garage.

I can't recommend the company enough... they were punctual, incredibly organised, clean, tidy and the most polite respectful workmen I have had the pleasure of meeting.

We decided to convert our double garage into a kitchen and extra living space so we could give 2 Ukrainian refugees a warm and attractive home within our home. From the first moment we met Ronnie and Adam we knew that we were in the best of hands. They offered us many creative and practical ideas which would never have occurred to us, and carried out the project with great skill, efficiency and workmanship of the highest quality. We are so happy with the rear extension Stag Builders have built for us. They supplied us with plans and structural drawings to carry out a very detailed extension that we have wanted for years but didn't know where to start. They also installed our new kitchen and utility room.

Ronnie and Adam are very skilled builders and the team of guys working for them are also very skilled. Like i mentioned at the start, we are really really happy and you won't go wrong choosing these guys.

Ronnie, Adam and Dan helped us with a knock through from our kitchen to living room (including putting in a structural beam) and certain other related works, including rewiring all the spotlights in both rooms, knocking through a door to our garage and installing a crittal partition. The workmanship is absolutely excellent on what was at times a tricky job, and the customer service was exceptional.

The team are tidy, polite and generally just lovely people to have working on a project in your home, who are all very skilled at what they do. They’ll be helping us with a garage conversion project once we have the necessary planning permission through, and seeing the quality of the work they completed this time round, we wouldn’t use anyone else.

Ronnie and Adam were quick to finish the garage conversion, kept the work tidy and finished on time. It was during the covid time when lead times for materials were relatively high and they were able to source the fresh doors in the colour we wanted and finished the works on time, on budget. Highly recommend them and would be calling them back for similar works!

We used Stag Builders for a single rear extension and was so pleased with them. Great communication and very tidy! 10/10!

STAG Builders recently converted our garage into a garden room, and we were very pleased with the quality of the finish. The team were professional, knowledgeable and very focused when on site. Adam in particular is hardworking, neat and tidy, and certainly an easy person to have working on your home. We would certainly use STAG again for any future projects.

UPDATE May 2022:

My initial feedback below was from Aug 2021.
This is an update as I feel aftercare experience is as important as the works. After the works were completed, Stag Builders of Hertfordshire promised they would come back for any snags (in particular one slab was loose on the new patio they laid and the grouting was not proper). However, 10 months on, not once did they call to check in. Now there are more slabs moving around, the grout is crumbling, the French drains they installed is blocked and became smelly - which I cannot unblock as they cemented the grills down and the Amtico flooring they laid down in the garage conversion is wavy. I gave them ample time (10 months is fair!) to proactively come and sort out the problems with the patio at the very least. Spoke to Ronnie on 4 separate occasions and was promised callbacks after he spoke with Adam. No response, clearly a technique to ware customers down and demonstrate that they are not interested in putting things right. It’s been upsetting, what a shame.

Stag Builders of Hertfordshire built an outbuilding/cabin and laid new patio in our garden and converted our garage into a cinema room. Friendly and professional service from the get go. No fuss, no upset along the way. They’re not only great builders who know exactly what they’re doing and do it to a brilliant standard but they’re also very trustworthy, amazing people to have around your home. I wouldn’t look further!

Ronnie and Adam really know their onions.. They have just finished our double storey rear extension, and renovation of downstairs. These guys are very easy to work with, and definitely trustworthy.
