This company will steal your money.

Still taking money from my account despite a load of requests for them to stop. Its only a fiver a month but the point is that I have contacted them seventeen times begging them to cancel my payments because my child hasnt played StarStable in years. Such a shame that corperate greed and corruption is so hard for the consumer to escape from.

Sorry for upcoming rant

Sorry for upcoming rant. This game costs nearly £100 to play beyond level 5. It is full of bugs, sexual/grooming and bullying inappropriate global chat. The character you play is 18, yet it is marketed towards children. I've played for 5 years and seen it all. Customer services is non existent with AI/ copy paste responses. Recently with the new Trail Blazer change, this has sparked a boycott from players, quite rightly! Any one with jobs, health issues, hobbies, who cannot play everyday are being punished with the new 'points capping' system, previous Trail Blazers were set so you could log in on your free days and grind to catch up, and now you can't. Their unprofessional response by one of their Game Masters, is embarrassing to say the least. The whole game needs an overhaul. Proper code to illiminate bugs, clean up the horrendous global chat, stop charging exorbitant prices, stop punishing players who have lives, kids, work, hobbies, health issues, and want to grind on their free days, or when they feel well-if they have health issues, like they used to be able to do. Listen to the community, have proper conversations with us, and get proper Customer services people, with who we can speak with, not AI copy paste replies, and dismissive replies that show you haven't read anything we write in, if as a player you have a problem, you can't speak to anyone, no one at all, only AI that doesn't quite grasp what you write. It's an absolute shambles and mess the way the game is run, and zero customer care is just salt in the wound. Story line lore no longer makes any sense, and new character skins released are so ugly like either flat lanky string beans or round potatoes, with absolutely no proper curves and shape, face templates are fairly ugly, where are some visually nice options, it's a fantasy escape game, I don't want to look like these ugly potato bodies, ugly faced templates while I'm trying to have a bit of escapism! The company would be salvageable with a new excited team, who can code well, listen and interact with the player base, add indefinite engaging gameplay, fun things to do, new areas to explore...unlike this team, who work with spaghetti code, zero relevant lore, barely any game play once you reach level24/25, then go on to punish you, if you dare finish new tasks quickly in one day, on your day off, rather than log in everyday as they'd prefer, as it looks good on the algorithm, constant daily log ins, their investors like to see that. So gosh forbid you grind the Trail Blazer in a few days...on the plus side, very pretty scenic areas, and lovely horses. The rest is a fraying rug...sad.

The game It's Okay

The game It's Okay, but the Star Stable Team doesn't fix a lot of bugs that the game has months ago I write to Star Stable Team that had a bug with the subject of seeing player information saying that this player is disconnected has been in the game for months and they don't fix it, I think it's wrong that we're paying $70/50 for the game and that they don't worry about fixing it, all they do is get horses out, which I think is fine, but the game needs maintenance, is imposible

Game is still fun to play, but direction changed

I am a veteran player, account has existed since early 2015 and I was around for the old graphics and quests. The game is still fun and isn't bad to play, but the direction of it has definitely shifted and is valid to be upset about.

The game was originally more targeted towards teens rather than kids, but they changed that a few years ago. This resulted in a lot of quests being removed or adjusted to remove the scarier quest themes or to reduce the grind needed for some story quests that older players experienced. Halloween quests were especially scary, but its been completely watered down. Alongside this, the direction for the story has been completely lost.

Making a game about horses to be more kid friendly isn't bad, but its a bit questionable when it comes off as extortive with how pricey it is to pay for the membership and Star Coin packages, which only seem reasonable if you're an adult with a job. Yes they have double star coin weekends which make it seem more reasonable, but marketing your game to kids with high pricing isn't a good look.

You can save up for things in-game with the weekly allowance, but its so little (100 per week) compared to the content released, which is mainly horses priced between 800-980. This could easily be solved if they increased the allowance, but right now it just feels like they want to pressure those susceptible to FOMO into spending to get a horse. A pricey pixel horse.

Of course if you can afford these things you wouldn't find this an issue, but as I said their audience is now KIDS. Their parents are the one paying for it, sure, but it still doesn't justify the gouged prices when this would be the audience that'd beg for these packages as they constantly advertise bundles and discounts. Doesn't help the fact they are UNDER INVESTIGATION for unethical consumer practice because of this.

After all that, only issue I have with this game now is the direction of the story. They turned it into a typical magical horse journey instead of the mystery that it was before. I really wish they kept the original idea of it intact rather than overriding and not developing it properly as they just ran in circles with it and rush every quest that takes months to even come out. If you want to see a good gist of what the original story was, checkout the Starshine Legacy game series, that's their basis.

HONEST REVIEW FROM VETERAN PLAYER

I’ve been a star rider since I think 2018 (a long time) and honestly…IM SICK OF THE BAD REVIEWS-NOT ONLY DO I PLAY EVERYDAY STILL BUT..it STILL takes me away from the hardships of life and lets me live out an equestrian dream. Some days I literally just put my AirPods in and roam catching fireflies or go on trail rides with the community.

The developers are amazing too-always updating WEEKLY and creating new content. I’ve watched the game go from clunky graphics to blossoming realistic stallions and enchanted lands.

I can’t understand the upset about the changes made-I think it looks beautiful. The models resemble the breeds more than ever-just look at there site and you can see just how much work has been put into it!

As for payments, I'm in my 30’s-I have a job. The only thing HONESTLY you SHOULD purchase is a “ONE TIME STAR RIDER MEMBERSHIP” pay once never again-unlock the entire game and get free “Star Coin” allowance every week to help you save up for a horse you want or a cool outfit!

However-for those like me-who have a job and your money IS YOUR OWN- I HAVE bought star coin-specifically during “double star coin” events. It grants you 10,000 star coins and that lasts me MORE THEN A YEAR. They didn’t FORCE ME TOO-or MAKE ME. THE GAME IS NOT PAY TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a honest review from a player who HONESTLY plays everyday-and wouldn’t have it any other way. Star stable if you see this-thank you for continuing to be the mental health therapy I need in my hectic day. If there was a score high then 5 stars you’d earn it.

Broken Game + Zero Support = Don’t Waste Your Time or Money

Star Stable has gone from a beloved game to a complete disaster — and the worst part isn’t even the broken launcher. It’s the absolute silence from the company that claims to “care about its players.”

For over a week, I have been unable to play at all because the mobile launcher simply does not work. It refuses to download the required data, the “download over WiFi or data” window disappears before it even registers, and the launcher endlessly claims I have no internet — despite testing multiple strong WiFi networks and fast 5G data. This is NOT a user problem. This is a broken product being handed to paying players.

I have sent support ticket — ignored.
I have messaged their social media team — ignored.
I have waited past the timeframe they themselves promise — still ignored.

The only consistent part of the Star Stable experience right now is being ignored after giving them your money.

This isn’t just bad service — it is complete negligence.
If a game-breaking bug prevents players from even accessing the product, the minimum expected is a response, an update, or even an acknowledgement. Instead, we get nothing. No transparency, no fixes, no communication.

Star Stable used to care. Whoever is running this now clearly doesn’t.
If you're considering starting this game or spending money — don’t. Not until the company remembers that players aren’t an inconvenience — they’re the reason the game exists at all.

Not a good game anymore

I have been playing Star Stable Online since 2012. The game has changed so much and it isn't fun anymore. The game feels too childish and unrealistic nowadays because of all the things they have changed. There's much less quests coming up and they seem to focus mainly on new horses and tack. They are money greedy, the prices are way too high in my opinion. They don't listen players anymore and it has been this way for quite a long time now, i think since 2018 or 2019. The main story quest has changed so many times it's ridiculous. It seems they don't know which direction they want to be heading with this game. Customer support is so slow it takes ages for them to answer, sometimes they don't answer at all. I think this game is just boring bying game nowadays, nothing more. Very disappointed it has turned out to be like this because this game could have really been the best horse game without all these changes.

poor customer service but an enjoyable game

the customer support is... very slow to respond and even then, it's scripted non-answers. the media posts also quite often miss the ball on what the community wants to

the game however is so fun and magical! it gets weekly updates although these are usually new horses/clothes with the occasional mini-quest for a new race or something. there's actually very few main and side quests for a 14 year old game. however, the story isn't it's main feature so i'm just grateful for what quests we do get. they've fairly recently (ok it's over a year old now but still) added a "battlepass" feature where you get points for your usual game stuff that go towards unlocking rewards. amazingly, all the cosmetic items get added to the game 6 months after the pass ends! most games i play with that kind of "track" don't do that so i'm very happy with that. the non-cosmetics repeat every track too so no one truly misses out. i've been playing for 4 years now and i've yet to get bored because even if you've done all the quests (including the longer collection ones) and achievements, there's still a tonne of dailies to do everyday, with some changing based on the day of the week.

Unsafe and predatory for children

I have been playing Star Stable Online since early 2015, and unfortunately with the state the game is in right now, I do not recommend it.

There are a lot of issues with the game that are being ignored and are only getting worse. The biggest issue right now I believe is that the game is simply not child-friendly despite being marketed towards a young audience specifically. It's predatory and unsafe.

Especially on more crowded game servers the in-game chat is horrendous: anything from insults, to slurs, to threats of physical and sexual violence to outright grooming behaviours is nothing unusual anymore. There is an option to report players, but the costumer support is essentially useless. Support has a habit of being insanely inconsistent with getting back to people, I personally have gone without answers to my emails for almost a year now. People who actively endanger other players are rarely ever being banned. The insufficient "chat filter" the game has further enables this.

The pricing of the game is also rather predatory, a good chunk of in-game content and updates consist of new horses and clothes to buy, many often being limited and aggressively marketed, leading to FOMO in children. Of course these items can often only be purchased with a fictional currency you have to buy with real life money—and it sure ain't cheap. The game itself also costs money: only with either a monthly or lifetime subscription can the entirety of the game be accessed. The "free" version can only be played until level 5, which is essentially nothing of the game.

So if you have a child interested in this game, please reconsider purchasing. If really necessary though, support can be messaged to disable all forms of in-game chatting on an account to make it at least somewhat safer.

So all in all, with the state the game is in right now, I unfortunately absolutely do not recommend it. Which is a shame since I have been a long time player and believe this game has a lot of potential. But until the major issues of the game like safety issues, predatory marketing, lack of communication from support and bugs and issues with gameplay itself aren't addressed and fixed, my stance remains.

Not worth it anymore

This game used to be magical, challenging and fun up untill 2019, after this they changed everything, they used to care about their players, they listen to them, nowadays they dont care about you at all. Now its nothing more than a game by developers that wants to squeeze as much money as posible from you. Dont let your kids play this.....

The opposite of better business.

Have spent about $1k on this game with two accounts in total. Emails have been ignored 90% of the time over the decade I have been a loyal player, people say common genitalia names with no misspelling frequently. I lost all my horses, mistakes have happened when I lost SC or bought the wrong horse and they never provided better business. I have been a content creator for this game for a decade, and wanted to help the community and fix it but I gave up. This game is actually done, unfortunately. There is no point spending money on this game, it is like flushing money in a toilet. I actually don’t mind the high prices I mean I’ve spent a lot on this game. Although, there is hackers, glitches, and inconsistent pricing and features in this game. There is no point to economy. Another note, have reached out several times to discuss feedback putting hours into messages and organizing the emails with no response. They don’t want to change their game. I know this may be a reach, but this game seems scammy. By scammy I mean it is just a whole mess and there is not a point in buying from them because you don’t know if the game will be destroyed in just another year. A little bit heartbroken. I have had several friends have horses go missing, errors and no better business. Seriously, as an entrepreneur I completely get that the gaming industry is difficult to survive in, especially with this type of RPO game- but it’s seriously suspicious how you treat your customers and have even at the peak of the game with the new team. I’ve gotten so many friends to buy and play this game, I’m upset you are not hearing me and feel like for this amount of money I’d at least not feel like i’m supporting a robot.

Your game works great at first

Your game works great at first, but after like 5 levels, the bugs make it progressively more unplayable. I am so annoyed that despite the amount of money I pay for this game, you consistently refuse to fix any of the bugs. It used to be every 5 quests, then every 3, AND NOW EVERY SINGLE QUEST, that has too many bugs for me to even complete. You consistently give me the wrong amount of star coins, which then makes my account go into severe debt for months. FIX THE BUGS. BEFORE ADDING NEW STUFF, FIX THE BUGS IN THE LATER QUESTS. Or if you don’t, at the VERY LEAST, charge people less than $8 for 100 star coins. The later levels are so bugged and some levels are nearly impossible to beat because of the fact that bugs are just… left there for years. YEARS. Either lower your prices or code better. I loved this game and hope it stops glitching and bugging. I still love this game but sometimes I feel robbed of my money, since your prices are high, yet there are so many bugs in quests, especially main quests. I don’t believe it was this buggy when I started playing it like 10 years ago. That being said, it is nothing personal and much love to you.

This is not the first time I have reached out about this. The customer service is some of the worst I have seen, please focus your company’s efforts on things that help your consumers, and not just your pockets.
