Worst hotel
I made a reservation for Stay KooooK Bern City. Without a doubt, this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. The hotel operates a 100% self-check-in system; however, it did not work. I sent messages to the hotel, but received no response by phone or text. I had to use the intercom to reach a receptionist wearing glasses around 6:00 pm on August 25th. She told me that the hotel could not provide the booking number because I had booked through Agoda.
When I suggested it would be more convenient for guests to be notified in advance—via Agoda or other means—she insisted that, for reasons she didn’t know, messages could not be sent through Agoda. Considering the hotel has numerous reviews and bookings on Agoda, this explanation was hard to believe. Even if Agoda messaging fails, the hotel could have emailed the booking code. It was clearly a poor excuse.
She then blamed me for booking through Agoda instead of the hotel’s website and asked if I wanted to cancel my reservation. At that point, I was understandably frustrated by her rude and shameless attitude and told her, “I do not like your attitude.” She audaciously replied, “You are not very nice.”
A hotel that cannot provide a booking code in a fully self-check-in system and instead blames the customer is completely unacceptable. This receptionist clearly needs to learn proper communication skills.
