Tights are soft, stretchy, with a wide waistband that appears comfortable (doesn't dig into her waist). We ordered a size too big (I didn't have good measurements to reference). I would say it would be safe to trust the size chart. I ordered up because the tights she had from another band were so small, I wanted to be sure these fit.
