Swiftly in and out from the boat with the car and on time. Kind personel. Pet friendly. If there is a thing to mention that is somewhat negative it's the price and the fact that people without pets stay in the pet-area.

Very disappointing Comfort Class experience.
I travelled on Stena Baltica from Ventspils to Nynäshamn on 26 June 2026 (23:00 departure). My cabin was No. 559 (Comfort Class, 2-berth).
Unfortunately, this was far from a comfortable experience. The engine noise and vibrations were clearly audible throughout the night. Even worse, the cabin next to mine produced extremely loud creaking noises that repeatedly woke me up. The sounds were so sudden and loud that I actually flinched several times while lying in bed.
Another disappointment was that we had to make our own beds. For a cabin that is sold as Comfort Class and costs more than a standard cabin, I expected the beds to be prepared before boarding. This does not match what most people would expect from a premium cabin.
I have travelled on this route before and know that the cabins on Deck 6 are much quieter and more comfortable. I do not understand why passengers cannot choose at least the deck or cabin location, especially when paying extra for Comfort Class.
In my opinion, Comfort Class should provide a quiet, relaxing night’s sleep and a better overall experience. Unfortunately, this cabin offered neither. I hope Stena Line will improve the quality of these cabins and give passengers the option to choose their cabin location in the future.

The man gatekeeping the drinks in the panorama made us feel we were asking for something we were not entitled to when we went to get a glass of wine. Fridges in rooms is a basic necessity in higher priced rooms.
The terrace was dire. Smashed glass on one of our neighbouring rooms and generally miserable area. Definitely needs some tlc.
Very little selection for vegetarians in restaurant and rude chef appeared disgusted when asked if any veggie choice. No decaf coffee available. My husband couldn't eat any meat at the buffet due to poor quality (chewy, fatty and grisly).
Lack of staff generally around the boat meant everyone was wandering around lost the whole time.
We didn't have enough towels for guests, and no phone in room to ask for any, so we had to find our way to reception to request.
All in all, we felt the bare minimum service was provided and would absolutely not recommend Stena line 'luxury' cabins again.
We travel on dfds regularly and price for price, their service is of considerably higher standard than stena line.

I was on the ferry to Kiel from Gothenburg. Although I travel regularly with Stena and never had any problems, this time a man was bothering me… so I went to the information desk to tell someone that I felt unsafe. And they were te sweetest. They checked on me regularly to see if I was okay and they brought me to my cabin when I wanted to go to bed. It really put me at ease and it kind of felt like a vip-treatment.

It was a nice trip. But the seats in the lounge needs to be renewed. They are not that good to sit in for a long period

Hygge lounge, the most uncomfortable seats for sleeping on. Advertised as reclining did not recline definitely not worth the £30 paid for irish sea night crossing.
Update: seems an innocuous reply from stena, I just wish I had read hygge reviews before booking.

I was denied boarding in Gdynia despite having a valid return ticket for a 36-hour cruise.
The reason given was that the car used on the outbound trip was not present on the return trip.
Staff could not show any specific clause in the booking terms supporting this decision. I was forced to buy a completely new ticket to return to Sweden.
Customer service later referred to information on a promotional webpage rather than the booking terms themselves.
Very disappointing handling of the situation.
PS. The response from Stena Line is a bright example of how they answer. I repeat (if they ever read this of course) - The Claim department(which I named customer support earlier) referred to information on a promotional webpage rather than the booking terms themselves.
