Just go for another brand.

I don’t know why I still bother with it anymore, but it feels to me like it belongs in the “gimmick” category. I bought it for my husband who never wore it, I wasn’t sure why and he just vaguely explained they weren’t the best. So I adopted it, and have very much realized he had done his research better than I did when I bought the gift. Unfortunately product reviews are not accurate because they are usually by people who have used them for a few days and not really had a good feel of the product.
It often tells me I’ve had a workout and that my heart rate has spiked while staying still, even though I know that is rubbish. Even if it weren’t, it’s supposed to alert me when it thinks I have a HR spike while inactive but it never ever does, just tells me I’ve done a huge workout. It splits my sleep into two sections (main then “other sleep”) when I haven’t been able to get back to sleep for a while so often I only get detailed overview for half of it. The “readiness” rarely reflects how I feel, so that’s pointless. For over a month I was doing barely anything and my cardio load was telling me I was overdoing it and needed to slow down while my zone minutes were at a meagre 3 or 4 (great motivator there). It’ll tell me I’ve done 300 steps when I look in the morning even though I’ve only used the bathroom and walked downstairs… if it carried on at that level of accuracy I can only imagine how many people out there are praising themselves for doing 4 times the amount of steps they actually are.
So yeah, it’s an inaccurate gimmick which might give you an idea of your more active and less active days to compare, but there are big issues with it in reality and I really wouldn’t take any specific given metric at a certain time as accurate (just read another review of someone who ended up with a 24h cardiac monitor because his Fitbit was showing massive HR spikes only to find that they weren’t happening at all.)
Do not waste your money.

They just couldn't care less.

I contacted the Google Store help after buying a Pixel 9a. I've been a long standing Google fan but can confidently say this phone is terrible. My 3 year old Google phone was vastly superior and had none of the faults and glitches of this very average excuse for a phone. Honestly, they couldn't have cared less, wasted an hour of my time and then offered me a standard trade in deal on a 2 month old phone that I could have got in Tesco. To be clear, I only want to change the device because it's so inadequate. The two people I dealt with couldn't have cared less.

I’m extremely disappointed

I’m extremely disappointed with the customer service I’ve received from Google’s authorised repair and service partners — SBE Cordon Phone Group and the EE Liverpool Store, who act on Google’s behalf for device repairs.

I booked a same-day repair for an issue that directly stems from a previous repair carried out by Google’s authorised partners. After travelling almost two hours after work last Thursday, I was told on arrival that the repair wouldn’t be carried out.

When the repair team eventually spoke to me, they claimed my Google Pixel 8 had been repaired by a third party — which is completely untrue. The screen was replaced by SBE in January due to the well-known green-line fault, and it took two attempts (one postal and one in-store) just for that to be acknowledged. Now the phone has dust inside the front lens, reducing its trade-in value, again due to the workmanship of Google’s authorised repair partner.

Why would I travel all the way back to the same store if someone else had repaired it? If that were true, I obviously would have returned to that supposed third party instead. Yet the staff refused to believe me.

To make things worse, a member of the tech team openly told me how “S''T” SBE is and insisted that none of this was EE’s responsibility — directing me to complain to SBE, a repair provider I hadn’t even heard of until that moment. After two repair attempts, a week without my phone the first time, and an unresolved issue caused by their own repair, I’m now left with no support from any of Google’s partners.

I was told last Thursday that the store manager would contact me the next day. I’m still waiting.

This experience exposes a disgraceful, faceless setup where Google’s authorised representatives — EE and SBE — refuse to take accountability for their work or provide meaningful support to customers.

Extremely poor durability and disappointing support

I’ve been using Fitbit for years and sadly my experience has been getting worse. In the last five years I’ve had around five devices fail, usually after just a few months. My latest one broke after eight months, which is the third failure in two and a half years.

When one of the previous units failed I was given a refurbished replacement, not even a new device. Support told me the warranty was expired and offered a 35 percent discount on a new device. Considering how often these products break, that doesn’t feel like a fair solution.

I’ve always liked Fitbit’s ecosystem, but the build quality and after sales support have been hugely disappointing. At this point it’s hard to recommend their devices to anyone.

After sale support is 0.

They sent me a trade in kit with an unreadable label, I opened a ticket to let them know I need another label and no answer back in a month now.
Felt like a trade in scam 😕

Google: The Giant of the Internet That Can’t Connect to WiFi

Google promises smart, seamless technology—but this thermostat experience was anything but. The software on mine was broken and refused to connect to WiFi, which is supposed to be one of its core functions. I disclosed the issue to Google support, and after hours of calls and endless troubleshooting, I was told the software was faulty. No help. No real resolution. No accountability.

Because of that failure, I couldn’t place the thermostat in the room where it’s actually needed. Instead, I had to pay an electrician to wire it directly to the boiler—so much for flexibility.

And the price? Absurd. It costs over six times more than a reliable wired thermostat that works without drama. The whole experience felt like paying a premium for inconvenience, limitations, and being ignored.

I find the entire experience bizarre and frustrating. A £400 device should be almost lifetime.

I would like to give it a -11 never anything more!

Rubbish watch! It’s been 2 years since I had it and it’s started to not respond to commands when I tap the screen. I can go through a while exercise class and I keep tapping it but it will not respond to allow me to select a exercise also now I was trying to see how many steps I’ve done and it won’t allow me to swipe. I did a factory reset but nothing works it’s very temperamental. I would not recommend this watch.

Extremely disappointed with my…

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I bought my Fitbit watch only four months ago, and it completely stopped tracking my sleep. On top of that, after traveling, the time no longer updates correctly. I checked every possible setting, reset everything, and tried every solution I could find — nothing works.

What makes this worse is that it’s almost impossible to contact Fitbit support. There is no clear email, no simple way to reach a real person, and trying to find any contact information took me over two hours. I still couldn’t find a proper way to get help.

From my side, it feels like money just wasted. The product is under warranty, but if there is no accessible customer service, then what is the point of the warranty? I’m honestly shocked that a company this big cannot provide basic, straightforward customer support. Absolutely unacceptable.

Scam promos to entice new customers

The company had a promo available when buying the new Google pixel 10 pro. After I bought the phone they closed the promo. They are scamming customers in the door and leaving an incredibly poor view of the company. I switched from Samsung but will switch back at the nearest opportunity.

Nest: ridiculous decision

As most others have stated, losing support has made my device useless. My mother purchased a system recently and now it is just a bit of junk to go into the ever worldwide growing pile of electrical junk. Being forced to upgrade is ridiculous so I refuse. Nest, what was once good had turned sour.

Worst company I have ever dealt with

Worst company I have ever dealt with. I purchased a Pixel 10 Fold Pro using the trade-in option and sent in my Pixel 9 Pro Fold. They refused to offer anything, claiming it wasn’t reset — it absolutely was. I then had to return my new Pixel 10 Fold Pro, reorder it, and go through the entire process again.

The second time, I sent my Pixel 9 Pro Fold back for the trade-in and they claimed it wouldn’t turn on or off. They returned it to me and, unsurprisingly, it works perfectly. I then spent over two hours on the phone speaking to someone who clearly had no idea what they were doing. The end result? I had to send my new Pixel 10 Fold Pro back again.

I’m done with Google phones. I’ll be switching to Samsung. Please, please, please don’t bother with them.

If I could give them 0 stars I would

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I have been a Google store customer for years and have been impressed with their customer service in the past. No more. I ordered a replacement phone from them and they charged me full price on the device 10 days after they received the phone I returned. Chatted with them about it and got the distinct impression I was talking to an AI model - and after 15 minutes and my uploading the proof of delivery to them there was no resolution. Never ordering from them again.

Avoid buying anything from Google Store

We returned an item and the return has been completed mishandled. Its been nearly 3 weeks since we had confirmed that Google recieved the item back. They have lost this evidence their side and we still haven't got our money back.

The reason for returning the product (Hub Max 2) was due to finding out they just remove software features, leaving users with no alternative and causing the product to become useless to us.

Don't give a damn

Gave me a voucher of £150 after they said battery in Google pixel 6 was going to be downgraded due to risk. Spent it on a pixel 9 which they promptly reduced the price 18 days later then refused to price match as had part paid with a voucher which they had given me because of the battery manufacturing fault.

False heart rate data, belongs in the junk box

I have had repeated massive heart rate spikes recorded by my Inspire 3, for example to 189 bpm, whilst walking but not under exertion with no symptoms. I eventually followed the general advice to visit my physician. Blood tests were done, all normal, an ECG followed by a 24 hour ECG subsequently reviewed by a cardiologist. All at considerable cost to the health service, whose time is better spent dealing with the sick rather than diagnosing Fitbit faults.

On the day of the 24 hour ECG the Fitbit showed a spike to 179 but analysis of the ECG showed the actual maximum to be a normal 104. The spikes were false.

I presented the data to Fitbit customer service over several weeks which led down a rabbit hole of repetition and copy/paste 'advice', including that I must be wearing it incorrectly.

I believed that my device was faulty, or at least they'd be interested to know why a device could go rogue, so I expected them to replace it given the trouble that had been taken to prove that the data was false. Eventually they declined to replace it but admitted that it wasn't my device that is faulty but that 'a Fitbit device is a general wellness product and are not medical devices designed to provide the most accurate medical data'.

So they think a 70% error margin is acceptable!!

Unbelievably, after this lengthy saga, in their last email they said 'If you have any specific concerns about your heart rate data, we recommend contacting your physician.' Hah!
