Quick to take your money
Quick to take your money, aren’t you?
I ordered the Pixel 10 at launch, trading in my Samsung phone for a discount on the new handset. I expected a smooth transaction, but what I got was delays and excuses. The trade-in process took far longer than promised—something I was told would be sorted quickly—and now, after finally receiving confirmation that the trade-in value would be refunded, I am still waiting.
£467, sitting in limbo while I chase after it. This is utterly unacceptable. I’ve had to escalate this matter all the way to the CEO’s office and will be taking this up with the FCA—enough is enough.
Google, for all your billions, it’s appalling how badly you’re treating your customers. I am thoroughly disappointed and furious at this display of neglect and incompetence.
Refunds are impossible, support and documentation marginal
I have been trying to get a refund on a Nest thermostat for over a month. I sent back the part with their RMA. They said I would get a refund but I have not seen it. I have spent at least 8 hours on Chat an am not done yet.
My advice is If you can buy the Google product you want from Amazon, buy it. If you have to return it, it will be easy and Google will still give you product support if you need it.
Google makes good products but retail is not their thing.
I have been a Pixel User for years and…
I have been a Pixel User for years and have taken advantage of their trade-in offer for the last few. Never again. I bought the Pixel 10 at launch this year and traded in my Pixel 9 for £474. I received an email on the 16th September stating that my Pixel 9 had passed the inspection and my refund was issued. It's now the 16th October and no refund has been received. Google have consistently ignored all messages so I have no idea what is going on. They have essentially stolen a phone from me. I ain't the only one as X is full of people with the same issue. After years of being a customer, I will no longer be buying Pixel phones or any Google product for that matter. Anyone looking to use Google trade-in, I would reconsider.
Do not buy Fitbit!
Do not buy Fitbit!
That may sound odd coming from someone who has had a Fitbit for almost ten years! So it is with an element of sadness that I have to call time on my little helper... it really did help to get me out of a sedentary lifestyle. Oh, I played football three times a week... but that was about it, the rest of the time was spent sat down looking at a screen. Well most of it. Fitbit changed my active life.
So, when I was happy aiming to beat my annual daily average of 18,000 + steps finding my Fitbit shaving of several thousand a day, chopping a winning month into a losing run it is time to say goodbye!
You were great - now you're next to useless... demotivating and undermining my good work.
Do not buy Fitbit - it was a great helper - now it engages in sabotage. Useless!
Can't turn off so binned it
Charge 6 has not tracked my sleep once. And considering it can't be turned off I've just had to bin it as it couldn't be brought into a certain environment. More useless crap from scammy Google
Pixel 8 Warranty stalling
I started having issues with my pixel 8 with the screen going green - this is a known issue so I went on the warranty page - created a RMA sent the phone to Google just to discover after sending the phone that the order has been cancelled - it's been 2 weeks now and Google is stalling with no clear updates on what is happening with my phone or even where my phone is even after providing them with proof of delivery and invoice of purchase. This has now been escalated to European Customer Rights
Nest Product Subscription
After a Follow-up with Nest customer service representative. Although, I wanted to continue with my Nest subscription it was never explained upon purchasing several Nest cameras, and fire detection system that a subscription was required to get full functionality and value for the money spent. First I apologized for my previous contact was not clear regarding my inquiry and the frustration I felt with my "subscription pricing." Which has kept increasing with no apparent difference in service. Before, canceling my subscription the price had risen from $90/year, to $113.00 and it was now going up again to $130.00. This I consider to be unreasonable.
When I purchased my Nest system from the doorbell, two outdoor cameras (driveway & backyard), to both fire alarm and detection system (upstairs & main-floor). It was never explained that a subscription would be required to get all the products purchased through Nest to function property and as intended with 24/7 recording and playback.
However, even with this issue I went ahead and kept all my purchases which was considerable at the time. But with this in mind I found the pricing for my subscription reasonable back when it was $90, even if it was not explained that a subscription was needed prior to my purchase.
Since then as indicated above I have seen my subscription go from what I considered reasonable at $90 for a year, to $113 and was scheduled to increase to $130 this year on Oct 6/2025. Upon receiving my renewal notification with the new pricing I decided that it was no longer reasonable for Nest to expect me to continue accepting a price increase just because.??? I then prior to my renewal date canceled my subscription.
Therefore, as I said prior to renewal I decided before this latest increase I would remove my subscription and contact Nest to see if there was a compromise that could be reached. Unfortunately, there was no compromise to be reached.
I also understand the need to make a profit in business. However your long time clients should be afforded due consideration especially when it was never explained prior to purchasing all the Nest products that in order to get full functionality a subscription would be required. I explained that In order to retain their long standing customers they should offer an incentive and the price increase could be passed along to all new clients. Rewarding your loyal clients and making it an incentive to remain a dedicated consumer of their Nest products.
All this to say I was willing to renew my subscription but not at the new price point. I was however, willing to renew my relationship with Nest if the customer service department is willing to provide me special dispensation of my old yearly pricing of $90. Which will not increase every year just because??? I was even willing to pay for 3 years up front in order to show Nest my own commitment to continue being a loyal customer of all Nest product.
Unfortunately, no common ground could be reached and I kept the cancelation of my Nest subscription. This also means I only get still picture capture with no 24/7 recording. I can honestly say I would not recommend the nest products without the subscription. This means add another $130 to your already expensive purchase with a price increase every year.
I would suggest going to another product provider that also include the subscription.
The worst company to shop with
The worst company to shop with. I was pushed around for 6 weeks for a simple trade in. I then returned one item which was returned successfully it took them 6-8 weeks to issue a refund because the relevant team was not replying to any of the internal staff apparently. This was a manager so you can imagine the level of stupidity I was dealing with.
Google nest doorbell cam scam👎👎
Google’s Nest doorbell camera is the worst possible rip-off on the market. You shell out $200 for hardware-wired up, sleek-looking-then they hit you with this: no subscription, no video. Not even five seconds back. Not even a blurry still. Just a blank screen-like your own house ghosted you. I know someone rang two minutes ago, but Nest? Nothing. It’s worse than no camera at all-just a false sense of security, a shiny little liar on your porch. And don’t think wireless saves you-they still cap it at three hours of crap, no search, no zoom, no nothing. Ring lets you keep weeks for free. Arlo lets you plug a cheap hard drive and forget. Google doesn’t let you do jack. You want your own footage? Cough up $100 if you want history-or kiss goodbye every clip you ever owned. They bury the catch in tiny print, then lock the whole thing behind a paywall. Can’t even browse your own memory without their ransom. I will get rid of this and every other damn Google device in the house. Way to go Google. You just lost one more customer. And hey-if you’re reading this, ditch them too. There are companies that don’t nickel-and-dime you for your own front door.
I regret wasting my time and money on this Google nest doorbell, cam scan🙁
I traded in my Pixel 9 through the…
I traded in my Pixel 9 through the Google Store’s trade-in programme in late August, following my purchase of the new Pixel 10. I’ve owned every generation of Pixel phone and most of the Nexus devices, typically buying two devices each year. I also use a Pixel Watch, multiple Chromebooks, and subscribe to both YouTube Premium and Gemini Pro. I’ve been a loyal Google customer for well over a decade.
The device was confirmed as received on 2 September 2025, and I was advised I would receive the full trade-in value of £474. On 20 September, I received an email confirming the refund details. However, as of 10 October, I have still not received the payment. My Google Store account incorrectly shows that I was paid on 16 September, which Google has acknowledged is not the case. Despite this, I’ve been repeatedly told to wait another 14 business days each time I contact support.
This experience has completely put me off Google as a company. I am now reluctant to purchase from the Google Store again, despite having Google Store credit in my account. The lack of transparency and poor customer service are unacceptable, especially for a customer with such a long-standing relationship with the brand.

if you are trying to keep track of your workouts this can be really disapppointing. it has a lot of improvements to be laid. The device keeps shutting off on its own
Awful faulty devices and awful company
Awful faulty devices and awful company, stay out of the consumer business Google you are even more useless at it than the software business.
Trade in as promised
Trade in as promised. I was expected problems as the checklist stated something like 'no cracks in the screen' and, although my Pixel 8's screen had no cracks, it had a tiny chip in it - where there was a tiny piece of glass missing. But I got the full £461 price as promised, credited to my card within 5 or so days of posting the phone to them.
ProblemsiIf you want to monitor your workouts
If you want to monitor your workouts, big problem here for me. When I walk or do spin class, it keeps turning off. Very frustrating when I want to know my distance
trade in rejected
UK trade in partner (PCS Wireless) rejected my pixel 6a trade in claiming the phone was not factory reset, which is 100% incorrect, all accounts & locks were fully removed and the phone was factory reset correctly. Google Store not interested in resolving the situation - "you can trade in against another purchase".
Forced Nest migration, unclear promo email, no way to reapply the discount, and extremely difficult support from both Google and Tado.
Summary: Forced Nest migration, unclear promo email, no way to reapply the discount, and extremely difficult support from both Google and Tado
Google forced the Nest thermostat EOL migration, pushing users to replace it through a limited partner (Tado) rather than opening it up to third-party options.
I followed the promotional email and purchased a kit in good faith. The email didn’t specify which version to buy (wired or wireless), and the kit I received was incompatible with my system. I returned it via Yodel with proof of drop-off, but support has been slow, fragmented, and heavily automated.
Google says they cannot regenerate the single-use promo code, and Tado says they cannot process an exchange — leaving me stuck in a bureaucratic “computer says no” loop with no clear path to a resolution. Both Google and Tado are extremely difficult to contact, creating a frustrating experience for customers just trying to follow the official migration process.
If you are considering replacing your Nest under this offer, be prepared for a slow, confusing, and bureaucratic process.
Zero stars would be more suitable
Zero stars would be more suitable, if this is how you can treat your customers by being a multi trillion dollar company then the world is a sad place. Useless customer care team who have absolutely no clue how to do their job, frequent attempts to breach UK consumer law, disgraceful. Will not be buying another Pixel again.
Useless customer server for a useless…
Useless customer server for a useless product. I bought a charge 6 which was fab until it stopped connecting to my app after 8 months. It's clear that the bluetooth has stopped working on the fitbit as my phone no longer finds it when scanning for bluetooth devices. I spent 2 hours in a chat with their customer services team who took me through all sorts of troubleshooting and basically tried to insinuate that it was my phone that was faulty (I have had no other issues with my phone, it can find all my other bluetooth devices). They said it was too complex and issue to deal with and had been escalated to a specialist who would contact me within a few hours - it's now been 24 hours and I've heard nothing. And it's not complex - after googling the issue its very common for fitbits to do this. I thought fitbit were a trustworthy company but they just take your money and leave you with a product that seems designed to fail. I wouldn't buy another one.
I will NEVER buy another NEST product
They are bricking Gen 1 and Gen 2 thermostats because they feel like it. These were the highest end thermostats you could buy back then. They are not opening them up so third parties can build apps for them.
I will never buy a NEST product again. They do the same with their smoke detectors
