Sony Firmware Killed my Sony Android TV

My KD55X9000E Android TV as always had firmware issues. The 1st major update it did resulted in a update loop that stop it from loading. Contacted Sony support and they advised how to do a reset via buttons on TV.
Next automatic update resulted in crazy TV behaviours. Would turn off randomly, not turn on unless I unplugged it (and plugged it back in) and cleared saved TV channels. Got sick of that so did a factory reset in the system settings. This resulted in the firmware loop as experienced previously. Went to do the reset via buttons and nothing. Still stuck in loop.
After contacting Sony, they advise it needs to go to a service centre. I must pay for the labour required to fix this. They were generous enough to offer to pay for parts. Considering this most likely only requires a firmware re-flash, I can't see how Sony are offering anything! The labour is the cost to repair.
I now have a $2,500 55" paperweight.
Sony are not the company they use to be. If they fail to take ownership of damage caused by their licensed firmware that is automatically pushed out by them, they should not be trading in this country.

This clearly has ended a very long loyalty I have had with the brand.

No customer service to speak of.

Can understand frustration of people giving single star for Sony Customer service. Am sure many would give zero stars if possible.
Purchased game via my Sony account . Was billed immediately but game did not appear in my library.
Contacted customer service but have not had any useful help in over 2 weeks since purchase.
Asked Paypal to step in and because Sony did not reply to them was awarded a refund.
Within minutes my Sony account was suspended even though they were at fault.
Intersesting to see if can get account unsuspended.

I have a pair of sony WH-1000Xm3

I have a pair of sony WH-1000Xm3. Noise reduction is very good, with just the right amount of adjustability. comfort is very good. Sound quality is also very good - although too bassy forcing me to use my music player's equalizer to normalize the sound - but these are not anywhere near the sound quality from Senheizers or Flares. Why only 3 stars? 1) somewhat overpriced for the sound quality; 2) trying to get service from Sony is like pulling teeth; 3) the "trackpad" functions on one ear work more or less well.

Bad Customer Service

Sent a PS4 controller in for repair and they said they wouldn't fix it because the damage was neglect or abuse which is BS. I have had to buy 5 brand new dual shock controllers and something always goes wrong with them. This last time I bought the extended warranty through Walmart and square trade and sure enough, the controllers analog stick starts spinning at the top. Total defect! Thank God for square trade which reimburses you for the full price of the controller. Shame on Sony for not taking care of honest customers. Everything is abuse or neglect....no your product is Shi*

You would think a big company like Sony…

You would think a big company like Sony would have a good customer service. Not so. Spentt 30 min on phone with someone with poor English so made the conversation very difficult.I was eventually told to take my tv to a repair centre miles away. As an 81 year old who is having to sheild from corona virus this is not an option. Would not touch Sony with a barge pole.

NO SONY SUPPORT AVAILABLE

Cannot believe the poor customer service with Sony. I downloaded an update for my Playstation4 and my Playstation account was somehow deleted in the process. I had purchased over $400.00 in games and now I cannot access them unless I buy them again...No one available at their support line, or by the live chat that they are still promoting. Have tried everything to reactivate my account and it is gone. This is ridiculous! I understand the limitations during the Covid 19 concerns, but all other companies seem to have support staff available, even if working from home. Really poor example here with Sony, seems that they don't care at all.

Damn

God damn, I didn't expect to see they have such a low score here... But now it seems clearer what I am dealing with.

Had (and still having) issues with my PSN account, case #1205576. Called their Russian hotline number, was asked to send an email, did that, and... no reply for 10 days. Sent them a follow up and finally received an automated response. Waited several days more, no response, got to them on Facebook, no one replied there, but in an hour or so they responded to my original email. And asked to specify my question (which I've already specified) and claimed the my links won't open though they certainly do. Like... wow.

Wow wow wow, what is going on?!

Sony is a one of the best in…

Sony is a one of the best in electronics. I am using Sony led tv and IV-300 Home theater both are good performance. I always Sony gives best picture quality and sound quality in TV in best price. The Special is Bravia led tv life is more and best service center nearby. So I will always recommend sony to my relatives and friends. Sony IV- 300 best budget and massive performance audio.My family like Sony.Thank you.

.... WOW....

So instead of hiring enough people to deal with the issues their product has. they completely shut down phone support... They have enough money to properly deal with the issue... and better service results in more costumers. But they take jobs away that can be done from home. Very unprofessional.. as if i was not rotted at my blue light of death as is... i don't like online chat. Its a waste of time and battery and only lengthens the time that the issue is resolved. It take longer to type then it do to speak.

As many others have posted, my 1 1/2 year old Sony TV died. Sony's customer service is beyond difficult to deal with and their tech support is worse. hh88
I was an avid Sony fan but I will not be buying any of their products again.

I like Sony Andy all their products are…

I like Sony Andy all their products are wonderful but the issue I have is with if I'm having trouble connecting to the internet the suggested actions tab is always
- restart the router
- restart the PS4
-If those don't work PS4 servers might be slow
And that gives no help after I have already done those before.

I recently bought Sony wireless…

I recently bought Sony wireless headphones. Left headphone stopped recieving signal and would not charge. I contacted Sony customer service and we tried trouble shooting issue. To no avail. With out hassle Sony stood behind thier product, returned said item and replaced in a timely manner. Couldn't be happier with the way Sony handle my promblem
