Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 43 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers express significant dissatisfaction with the products received, frequently citing issues with counterfeit items, faulty goods, or products that do not match their descriptions. The website itself is often criticized for issues related to fraudulent transactions and scammers, with some users feeling that the platform does not adequately prevent such activities. Refund processes are a major point of contention, with many customers reporting difficulties in obtaining refunds, even for items that were faulty or never received, and feeling that their money-back guarantee is not honored. Customer service is consistently described as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to reach, with reviewers often encountering automated bots or agents who provide pre-written responses and fail to resolve issues. Some people were dissatisfied with the overall service, highlighting a lack of seller protection, high fees, and a general feeling that the platform no longer prioritizes its users.

Atrocious Company

Very poor customer service, very hard to rectify any issues. Allows sellers to sell fraudulent , counterfeit goods. Sellers are able to openly rip people off with no repercussions. Buyers are given the run around with no after sales support. DO NOT USE EBAY!!!!

Purchased a mp3 stereo for my BT50 from…

Purchased a mp3 stereo for my BT50 from Oz pro, the item was not as described when I received the item I new that it was the wrong item for my car, notified oz pro of the issue and it took around 24hrs to get a response from Wendy. Wendy stated to send the item back to a different address that the item was sent from ( which sparked alarm bells) so I took there advice and sent it back to the address Wendy responded with. Australia post advised us that because of delays resulting from covid it would be delivered late to the seller, the seller received the item and signed for it and still to this day has failed to refund my $533 back to me, I put in a complaint to ebay and PayPal but both are stating I have no case, well guess what my solicitor thinks differently so I'll be in touch with Wendy ebay and PayPal very soon, so for everyone out there please be careful on purchasing items through ebay as I hold ebay fully responsible for the outcome of my case.

It's concerning and deeply troubling…

It's concerning and deeply troubling from first-hand experience, forums and review sites that eBay overcharge sellers fees, specifically Final Value (FV) and Ad fees after these issues surfaced on numerous occasions. Concisely, Ad Fees are doubled up (at least) - Goodluck reconciling if you sell the same item multiple times as eBay do not provide an order number on your Ad fee transactions history. Additionally, FV Fees are charged above the standard eBay promoted rates. eBay bases its seller fees on a metric system but the issue here is eBay cooks the metrics to look like your 'Below 'Standard' so eBay can charge you higher FV fees. Numerous sellers have raised eBay fee overcharging concerns on this platform along with other review sites but interestingly there's still no change, eBay appears to remain continuing to overcharge sellers. Interestingly enough, eBay is not regulated in Australia, therefore sellers must take legal action including forming a group representation for class action in taking the fee overcharging matters to small claims court after eBay consistently refutes the 'system generated' over charged fees. EBAY - STOP RIPPING OFF SELLERS THEN DENYING IT INSTEAD OF REFUNDING OR BETTER YET, CEASING THIS WELL KNOWN SELLER FEE RIPOFF DOGGY PRACTICE!!!

Non-authorised charges by eBay

Charged me A$49 for eBay Plus when I did not subscribe. I asked for evidence of why that charge was levied on my account and charged against my credit card. eBay have not responded. Nor will eBay action my multiple emails requesting a full refund. Very poor service and communication.

Item faulty and seller does not expect to last. Had under year .will show reply from seller.

Dear mrrackstraw,

Thanks for your email and sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry, the item you bought is too long and it is out of warranty. You use it for a long time, and it is normal that the item will not work for a long time used. Hope you could understand. If you still need this item, you could buy a new one from other store.

Look forward to your early reply. Have a nice day!

The eBay customer support is abysmal to…

The eBay customer support is abysmal to say the least. I wanted to purchase a phone, approached eBay customer support expressing concerns over the seller's profile and genuinity, i was assured the seller was legit and should proceed with a $999 transaction. Phone purchased and payment issued via PayPal. A tracking number was provided, a week later it was all marked as delivered, yet NO phone. Contacted the delivery provider who advised the tracking number was valid, an item was delivered. However the item was NOT addressed to me. turned out the tracking number was a SCAM. eBay was advised a case was raised, 3 days later my case was CLOSED without any investigation even thought i provided all correspondences and evidence from the courier company. I finally managed to get my money back from PayPal who were awesome.

DO NOT use eBay unless your payment provider facilitates online purchase protection. eBay is torrid in this regard and will NOT back you up where you need it. this organisation is NOT the same as they used to be, the platform is full of scammers and i wont be surprised if eBay was part of it all.

PLEASE BE AWARE.

Hi there to whom it may concern,To be…

Hi there to whom it may concern,To be very honest with you I’m more than disappointed with your service and how you treat customers, especially when it comes to getting in touch with your so called Company. There is nobody, absolutely nobody you can talk to when it comes to issues about Fraudsters and Scammers. In our Case we got ripped of by a Seller which you, after our Investigations You are obviously doing Business since years and you should be well aware of,in this Case a so called Company from Malaysia trading in Australia under the name Yeli Trade,Ego electronics, electronics oz,buy from ozone and oz wonderland....aso...scammers through and through, they change their so called Business Name whenever it gets too hot under their chair...And you know about this for years, you support criminals, give them a 99.5%rating so people fall into their trap, and there is the question, who is worse, the Scammer or the one who supports them...in this case the latter,I lost $290 all up...and I can tell you one thing...I will not give up ...and I’m very very serious about this,I will hand this matter over not the local police, but Interpol, and will work on to destroy your reputation Worldwide, because you support criminals, and gave grief to thousands of vulnerable customers all over the world, and you are aware of this problem for a long time, and haven’t done nothing about it,too bad.You obviously think ur the cheese because u stink,Amazon does a lot better than you guys, and we will do our best to destroy you...because you got no sympathie with the hand that feeds you,the Customer, which should be the number one, instead you knowingly support criminals and scammers big time, for so many years now, this has to come to an end,and as I said,we will work on your downfall with any means until you change your behaviour...Regards L.W. G.

Sneakers? NOT FROM ebay !!!

So I needed a pair of sneakers and was impressed as ebay now authenticate they are genuine . When they finally arrived they were too small but Despite the seller agreeing to the return by parcel to USA ebay one day later close the case as ” it has been authenticated” ,never mind the small size. The seller had not indicated ”no returns” and was cooperative . Ebay ? Never again after 18 years goodbye and good riddens!

Ebay Customer Service Biased to Earning Commission

I ordered a special Japanese Pressing SACD and naturally paid for it before it could be dispatched.
Astonishingly I received an EU pressing with none of the details matching the item description except the names :(.
I raised a dispute and initially received Ebay support.
I explained that I needed a prepaid envelope that could be used at no inconvenience to myself and a refund. No envelope just a PDF that I cannot print.
Approached Ebay for support, received scripted responses, looks like another remote and unqualified team that either do not read or do not understand plain English.
Some two months later I am still awaiting resolution to this dispute! My conclusion - Ebay are only interested in commission on sold items with no attempt to protect buyers.
You will get a good selection and good deals on Ebay but be warned, if you come across unscrupulous sellers you are on your own, Ebay do not care about buyers.

Poor customer service

Ebay runs a promotion on gumtree which promises 2 free insertion and final value fees per month. I qualified for the sale and sold some items on ebay. To my disappointment I was then charged the full ebay fees which weren’t cheap. I contacted the ebay customer service who was friendly and they assured me that I indeed qualified for the promotion and that I would be refunded within 15 days. However, no refund after 15 days. Long story short I contacted the ebay customer service another two times I was promised a refund soon each time but never received it. It’s been almost two months since I sold the items, and it appears that ebay has no intention of refunding me but only delays things further with false promises. Believing ebay promotions or having to deal with their customer service can end up as a waste of time. It is sad for the ebay platform but luckily, we have good alternatives as well.

Absolutely awful. Sellers, avoid using eBay. No support, and policies only get worse over time.

I have been a seller on eBay for over 5 years, and it has been getting progressively worse in that time.
With over 17,000 orders, I now plan on closing my eBay store entirely once I run out of existing stock I'm holding, because of eBay's terrible management.
Today, eBay refunded a buyer who had opened an item not received case - even though they had since received the item! The INR case was automatically escalated and automatically refunded because eBay's unintelligent website design wouldn't recognise the tracking number updates... even though the Australia Post website CLEARLY shows it has been delivered.
I have to waste my time appealing a decision made by a robot, and deal with the stress and frustration of doing everything right and still having money stolen from my account and no guarantees of being able to get it back. Ebay's customer support is useless and they will waste your time.
This is the final straw. I am done being forced into inferior programs like Managed Payments that eBay forced on all sellers to increase their profit margins at our expense. I am done with all the terrible changes eBay have made over the years trying to force small scale sellers to compete with the customer service speed and express postage options of a multinational company like Amazon.
Face it eBay, you will never compete with Amazon. It's a different business model. Small scale sellers shipping from all over the country CANNOT compete with shipping/express costs a central warehouse like Amazon has, how do you not understand this? All you are doing is alienating your core users and those who choose to use eBay because it is different.
eBay is a dying business, and every decision they make is another nail in the coffin.
The day I run out of items to sell and can log off the website for good will be a happy one.
I would never use eBay as a buyer out of principle because of all the things they have put me through over the years.
