We’re sorry to hear that you felt your experience wasn’t positive. Our team greeted you politely and with a smile on arrival, as we do with all customers. You presented a picture of an international driving permit but did not have your physical driving licence. You mentioned that you were aware of the requirements but hoped it would be acceptable locally.
I do believe we spoke on the phone prior to your booking, and I explained that under no circumstances could a car be hired without your physical driving licence. As stated in our terms and conditions, which you agreed to, and in your booking confirmation, a physical driving licence must be presented at collection. This is a legal requirement, and an image of an international driving permit alone is not valid without it.
We are always as flexible as possible with bookings, but there can be no flexibility when legally required documents are not provided. We understand this was disappointing, but we must follow the law to protect both our customers and our business.
