Broken Zip

1/2 a tooth on my zip broke and when I rung the Riccarton store I was told the zip had a year warranty. On returning my bag for the 2nd time with the same problem I was informed that the teeth on my zip are not covered by warranty and it was only the goodness of the salesperson that she had replaced my 1st bag. I explained that I believed the zips were faulty.
The sale person was quite rude and very dismissive.
A refund was paid but only when I got home did I realize it was the wrong bag price (I had purchased 2 bags that day)
So very disappointed customer.

Eastgarden store is the worst.

I went into the Eastgarden store on Christmas Eve to buy a duffel bag for my husband, I wanted to look at one that was too high for me to reach so I asked the man who was putting markdown stickers on nearby suitcases if he could help me, he said no because he needed to finish what he was doing. My tall but very pregnant daughter got it down for me. I took it to the counter and was ignored for some time by the 2 women behind it while they discussed their rosters then was told it wasn’t discounted even though it was online and the man who had the list of discounted things in front of him said it was, ended up walking out with nothing. It’s not the first time we’ve had trouble here but it will certainly be the last.

Misleading Website

I ordered a suitcase from the Strandbags website. It was on sale and on the same page, just under the price, it said "Get 10% 0ff when you sign up as a rewards member.*" (There was no * anywhere on the page.) When I didn't get the 10% off I complained and was told that the 10% off applied only to full price items and not to sale items. I was referred to the "terms and conditions" well buried in the website. I pointed out that the 10% statement was on the same page as the sale item with no further conditions outlined there. Strandbags just flat out refused to give me the 10%. It seems to me this is misleading and unethical. Buyer beware!!!

So happy with my purchase

So happy with my purchase. Bought a Colorado Nomi Leather Tote. Beautiful Tote. Lovely tan colour. Great style and size. Very happy customer. Bought a Colorado Large Leather Wallet some 10+ years ago and still use it today. Reason for buying a quality Tote. You get what you pay for I guess. Paid for quality and received it. Hope it lasts as long as the wallet. Thank you Strand Bags. Online shopping experience was super easy and great also.

Worth bags and Worst service by Strandbags. Purchased a bag and the parts of the bags like lock and handle broke (not externally) due to poor quality of the product. Visited the store and they simply rejected to offer any warranty claim and mentioned that this is broken by airlines.

Do not buy the Antler Brixham range

Do not buy the Antler Brixham range. My last Antler suitcase lasted 18 years, but the fabric on this new one has ripped after a single use. It has a lifetime warranty so long as its never used as luggage or sees the inside of a plane. After sales service is non existent. Waste of AUD$380. Next stop is Consumer Affairs.

Delivery far too slow.

After a couple weeks I emailed them asking if the wallet had been sent. They did email me back to say it hadn’t been dispatched yet and I will receive a email once it has been. It’s been 3 weeks now, still no email. If I had known it was going to take this long I wouldn’t have ordered from them.
Update….still waiting over 1 month, Not dispatched yet. I wonder if it’s ever going to be sent.

Online service ridiculous

Online service ridiculous. Order a large suitcase… didnt arrive at all and was just sitting at the depot 10 mins from my place.
They couldnt follow up and find out why, they also said item needed to confirm a return at their address to give me refund.
I had already waited so long.
So a day before i left, I didnt have a suitcase to take for my trip. I had to head out and find one similar last minute… the one thing i was trying to avoid by buying online 2 weeks prior.
Absolute waste of time. Never again.

The Strandbags team demonstrated impeccable service!

I had several issues with my purchased suitcases. After supplying customer service with photos, they quickly provided a full refund. With renew confidence, I purchased a different replacement suitcase. This time I encountered a delivery error caused by me. The City store manager was incredibly helpful, arranging everything between the online team and courier to ensure my order was delivered via the fastest route. The true test of Customer Service occurs when things go wrong. The Strandbags team demonstrated impeccable service!

wanting copies of drivers license.....

Ordered a carry on case for $139 for collection from my local store. I got a email saying they needed to verify my order. They wanted the last 4 digits of the card I used to pay for the bag, a copy of my drivers license and a copy of a bill (electricity, council rates etc) emailed to them. I refused and wrote back and said to cancel the order and refund it. These are checks that can be made in store when collecting the purchased product. There is no need for strand bags to be requesting copies of peoples drivers licenses or bills.

Terrible customer service

Went into the store, didn't have the two suitcases I wanted so they transferred them from another store for me. Told in person and via email that it would be 3-5 business days. I waited 10 days with nothing having arrived. Called the store, went into the store. Nothing. Called again only to be told that the cases would arrive after I have left on my trip. Contacted phone support, straight to a robot voicemail. Contacted via message on the website. Told to go into the store to ask for a refund or to pick something else. I was spending over $1000 on luggage. I now have no cases for travelling. I have to put my belongings in rubbish bags to drive to another city to buy new cases straight before my international flight. If I ordered online I would have the cases already. Customer service is appalling and no help at all.

LIGHT UP, Strand Bags!

I’ve visited the Hay St, Perth shop twice recently. Had great sales assistance and I love the carry-on bag I bought, but the shop is in darkness! A whole bank of lights has been out for at least two months. It’s most uninviting, not to mention a bit irritating. It feels shoddy and a bit “make-do” to me.

Bought a large Flylite suitcase from…

Bought a large Flylite suitcase from Strand bags online in 2022 and used it only once. The other day I took it out and noticed that half of the wheel was missing I phoned a luggage repairer who was quite willing to replace the wheel until he found out that it was a Flylite suitcase and told me he could not get the part to replace it. He said he could do all luggage repairs except Flylite suitcases. I then sent an email to Strandbags customer care asking if they could replace the wheel (at my cost). I received a very cold email reply stating in short that they don’t repair or replace unless under warranty that I can only seek help under warranty and then stated some of the terms of the warranty. They also stated that I should have the receipt of purchase (oh please in todays technology when all purchases are recorded on computer) . I replied that all I wanted was a new wheel and I would pay for it. Again I received a cold email stating warranty information. So from this experience I have gathered that Flylite suitcases are Strandbags generic, they are not made to last, if there is a problem with them whilst under warranty they will repair but indicate that they don’t do emergency repair I.e. you must give them plenty of notice before your next use of the suitcase, if out of warranty you cannot get them repaired and they do not supply the parts. Independent luggage repairer I spoke to who has been in the business for over 40years told me he cannot get the parts to repair Flylite suitcases. So in short, Flylite suitcases are rubbish for the price, they are not meant to last more than a few uses and you can’t repair or replace parts out of warranty. Don’t buy Flylite suitcases, the suitcases sold in other variety stores or occasionally supermarkets are much better quality and much less expensive.

Great service from Trish at Tweed Heads

We recently returned from our European trip and had a problem with a couple of suitcases that we had purchased prior to our journey. We had the pleasure of dealing with Trish at the Tweed Heads Mall...she was most helpful and sorted out the problem straight away. She also gave us good advise when we originally bought the goods.

Refund / Exchange

After dealing with 2 stores here in SA this week, I now know why I prefer to shop online, rather than face to face!
Such a disgraceful way my 83 year old Mum was treated when she was given a gift on Wed 13 Mar '24. The handbag given was way too large, so she wanted to return/exchange without offending the person who gave it to her. It still had the packaging, tags & was given in the red strandbags bag!
As it was a gift, no receipt... as per the Strandbags website, returns could be exchanged or a credit note given.
We went to our local store in Murray Bridge & was told that was absolutely not the case, they had been trained that NOTHING could be done without a receipt, regardless of what the corporate website said!!!
I tried to call their head office & also customer service - voicemail, I then emailed their customer service, no response!!!
I then rang the Mt Barker store & was told the same thing!!!!
False advertising on the website!!!
We came home & searched thru his rubbish bin & found the receipt and went to Mt Barker today, with the receipt.
Mum chose a handbag which was $19.99 less than the original purchase but was told she had to spend the entire amount, they couldn't issue a credit note for the difference.... she ended up choosing a 2nd bag & she owed 1cent ... and was told she couldn't do that ...
She ended up buying the next cheapest option & had to pay $14 extra!!!!
This whole thing is just awful & so hard for older folks who are clearly getting ripped off.
I will be reporting this whole thing to the ACCC tomorrow... which runs this company I ask???
We will ensure this situation is put onto socials to warn anyone else about purchasing from your company...
