My Daughter and I stayed here last week for one night to see a show at the Savoy Theatre which is literally across the road. The hotel is easy to get to from Paddington Station, got the tube to Chari... See more

Very nice very clean and well presented…
Very nice very clean and well presented hotel, was a corporate booking for work and stayed the 1 night. Fantastic location on the strand opposite the Savoy. Very clean and well presented hotel. Fantastic breakfast with good choices, and a sizable restaurant area not too formal Double room was good albeit a little smaller than I expected - bed pushed up against one wall. Fantastic bathroom and usual facilities in the room. I had a room overlooking the street which was great, shutters on windows did shut out the noise which worked perfectly. Decor in this hotel is of a high standard. Very helpful with left luggage, was able to leave for the day after I checked out and picked up in the evening which was really helpful. Staff are all well presented, professional and friendly. Would have given this a 5 star if not for the queue i had at 5pm on checking in - seemed to take a long time before others signed onto the checking desks to resolve this- counted 12 people queuing in front of me at one point which was annoying. Once other staff arrived it cleared but took too long for the queue to be recognised. Would return here with my family, nice hotel in a great central London location - 5 min walk from nearest tube and a stones throw from Trafalgar Square.
If I could give zero I would
If I could give zero I would. I booked afternoon cream tea for my friends special anniversary. They received confirmation of the booking at Haxells, Strand Palace Hotel. They went at time of booking and were told this is not available and no booking should have been taken by Book A Table. My friends and I were all very disappointed.I just tried a mock booking which it allowed again. Very poor!!
We recently stayed here and wouldn't…
We recently stayed here and wouldn't again,as soon as we arrived we were asked would we like to get a different room for an extra £10. So we said ok. We went straight out to the theatre, got back, showered and changed straight back out,we had booked the ivy for a meal, when we got back which was very late, i went to close the curtains...no curtains..we had the light shinning in all night and it was noisy..too late to move out or complain..and there was only 1 towel between 2 people,as I like my own towel I thought this disgusting.there was no information in the room about the hotel or a menu.so I would definitely not stay again.
This hotel was fantastic!
This hotel was fantastic!
Cleanliness was 10 out of 10, the food was outstanding and there was a male restaurant manager that couldn't do enough for us.
I will be rebooking to stay again soon
Poor Customer Service and Flexibility
Five days before my visit to this hotel I was contacted by the NHS to say I had been in contact with someone with COVID. I was advised to home test for 6 days although I didn't need to isolate as I have been vaccinated. As I would still be testing during my visit to The Strand Palace Hotel I rang reservations and asked if I could postpone my visit for a week or so because of the situation I found myself in. I was told that I had to give 8 days notice and if I cancelled at this stage I would lose my money.
I could have travelled to the hotel and continued testing whilst there but thought this would be irresponsible and therefore lost all my money.
I personally think this is poor customer service. I was not asking for a refund just a postponement. In these current times I think flexibility is important.
This hotel is really fabulous
This hotel is really fabulous. I was looked after from the moment I got here. I had room service which was fabulous for a very small fee, less than 5 pounds. I am still here but am really enjoying my stay so far. The little note and chocolates plus the slippers and terry gown were fabulous as were the snacks and drinks. Thank you!

Best hotel in London hands down
Best hotel in London hands down.

Terrible customer service with no care for customer well being
We are living through extraordinary times and the inflexible, rude and inconsiderate attitude of this hotel is unbelievable. With the west end closed along with high numbers of covid cases in London still, I requested that the dates of my stay be changed and I offered to pay any difference. The hotel refused saying they were now open and able to accommodate us. I explained that all the shows and exhibitions were shut, I would be travelling with an over 75 who should shield. All to no avail. The hotel and their staff don't care about their clientele or understand that most people stay there to visit the west end. Having stayed here before I was surprised at their current poor level of customer service. Having looked at recent reviews on TripAdvisor the level of customer service and client satisfaction has seriously declined. Avoid this hotel and book into more caring establishments.
Very well worth a stay
3rd visit recently, absolutely love the hotel. Very handy for the sights, reasonably priced and a lovely place to stay. Nothing seems a problem for the staff and we got a cheap upgrade due to a slight problem with one room. Road noise a bit intrusive at night with front rooms, but's central London so you can't expect much different. Look forward to going there again and would recommend to everyone.
