My subscription was unexpectedly renewed on Saturday, September 21st, without any prior notification. Given that I haven't utilized the service in over a year, I immediately contacted the company on Monday upon discovering the transaction, requesting the account be closed and a refund for the upcoming year's payment.

During a web chat, I was informed that "it is not within our capabilities or legal authority to cancel subscriptions" and was directed to their terms, which state:

(ix) “We will not provide refunds or credits in the case of cancellations, downgrades, or unused portions of the Services on an open account.”

In response, I provided the following legal points: “While companies may include terms in their contracts or service agreements addressing automatic renewals, they cannot entirely waive their legal responsibilities under consumer protection laws. Including a clause in the terms and conditions stating that customers are responsible for monitoring renewals may not suffice to exempt a company from its obligations. Although companies can set terms regarding renewals, they must still comply with applicable laws and cannot completely absolve themselves of responsibility through contractual language.”

While I acknowledge that I should monitor my subscriptions more diligently, it is evident that this company has a policy of NOT sending renewal reminders and then claims to be unable to cancel accounts or issue refunds. When these issues are raised, their correspondence abruptly ceases.

As of now, I have been ignored, and they have retained my £805.

Streaming Video Provider is an excellent company for hosting & streaming videos. I use the pay-per-view features extensively - they are easy to use, therefore making it easy for me to sell my video content on my websites.

Customer support is absolutely outstanding. This is important in case of a breakdown or crash, or just asking simple questions. I am really happy I went with SVP!

Used them last year for our live streaming season (box lacrosse). No issues, everything ran smoothly.

SVP recently improved and updated their service offer with better pricing and packages. In that regard, I wish SVP would offer an intermediary plan between the Pro and the Premium which is a big financial jump. I have been a webTV and broadcast TV journalist, host, director and producer since 1998, when the internet was just starting to become public; I've tested and used many streaming providers, and, I can tell you that SVP offers a great and reasonable value for money. And while there is always room for improvements, I've been with SVP for several years now; these are real people who are listening to you as a customer, and that is probably what matters the most... I highly recommend this company and their offers!
