Dreadful service

I placed an order with Strelitzia’s Florists on Mon 12th January for a Summer Loving Fresh Flower bouquet. I phoned on Wed 14th January to query the delivery and was told it was delivered that morning at 10.30am. Apparently they were delivered by An Post which is most unusual for a florist.
I have received a photo from the recipient and the flowers are withered and drooping. I paid €57 for this and it looks dreadful. It is embarrassing that this is what my friends received.

Incompetent business demands return of…

Incompetent business demands return of dead flowers for refund.

This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. I had ordered from them before and therefore expected high quality. I ordered specific flowers - proteas and strelitzias, as a surprise gift for my mum for a significant birthday. There was no indication on the website regarding having to order in advance, and the business agreed to the specific flowers in writing. I accepted a one day delay to delivery due to supplier delays, as there was a bank holiday in several European countries that week. It all went downhill from there.

The florist contacted my mum to discuss a further delay, ruining the surprise. I proceeded with the order as this was the only florist I could find using these specific flowers, and I was assured the bouquet would be lovely.
The bouquet was sent via standard parcel post, not next-day delivery, 4 days after I was told it would be shipped, and spent 3 days in the postal network.
Throughout this additional delay this business insisted the flowers would remain fresh and be fine on delivery.
When the flowers were eventually delivered, 9 days after the original delivery date, they were dried out and badly damaged, only strelitzias and lilies, no proteas, so not even the specific flowers I was promised were included.
I contacted the business immediately with photographs and requested a refund. There was no apology made and they want the gift recipient to return the dead flowers and the items they included off their own initiative, supposedly as an apology for the initial delays and mistakes they made. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a florist, actually with any business.
