Good Value and quality product, could have been assembled better though

I wanted to curtain off gaps of 104cm with a 237cm drop.
I phoned and explained what I needed and was told 104cm would be tricky so I agreed to have the standard 100cm rails.

This would leave 2cm gap on either side. Much more than what I needed but hopefully doable. What I received was 98cm rails which increased the already large gap. I measured them before I put them up but assumed there would be some extra width provided by the slats. I assumed wrong.

Meanwhile the perfect drop of 237cm was not achieved. They drag on the floor by about 4cm. I am assuming that is because the manufacturers did not account for the thickness of the rail (4cm) in the drop calculation.

Whilst not the worst part of this purchase, it if definitely aggravation. I will have to try to cut 4cm off the bottoms of all the slats with a pair of strong scissors. I will probably end up with ragged crappy edges. I thought perhaps I might have missed some small print that told me I should account for the size of the rails. But there is no mention of this anywhere on the site. Nor was anything obvious when i did a test purchase. Nor mentioned by the bloke on the phone.

I can only assume this is a new company and these are teething problems. I have installed the curtains and they do a pretty good job all things said and done. I cannot re-site them and adjust by removing an overlay to improve width as this would increase the damage to my ceilings with all new holes. And I was only properly able to see if they would work once up. Pointless in initiating a return.

The materials are good. The rails are a nice sturdy clean design, the strips are very very clear. They hook on easily to the rails. A bit fiddly but easy once you get the knack.

But I could have bought an equivalent kit from anywhere, cut it up myself and what I needed was something made to measure. Which presumably is what I’m really paying for? Other than that I just received a kit. Also the higher than usual shipping cost decreased the value.

Overall it works and should do people fine. Only 2 days in and the slats are getting scratched by minimal passage, faster than expected. Not my best purchase
