Stroomgroep home battery installation: even one star is too generous
One star is already too generous for our experience with Stroomgroep’s home battery inspection, installation and after-sales service.
Before installation, we raised our main concern with their advisory partner, Greenteam: whether a suitable installation location could be found at our home. Following an initial technical inspection, Stroomgroep assured us that installation was possible. We therefore moved furniture and cleared the agreed space.
Then, on installation day, Stroomgroep’s installer told us that the location was not advisable, would require considerable additional work, and involved digging outside their scope. Why were these issues not identified during Stroomgroep’s own inspection?
We asked for another inspection and a proper installation plan, but the installer insisted that the matter would come back to the installation team anyway. We then worked through alternative locations together and eventually agreed to place the batteries at the front of our home.
The installer took measurements to level the batteries, yet the finished installation looks slightly tilted. When we raised this, Stroomgroep confirmed that they had followed the guidelines and concluded:
“It is slightly unfortunate that the ground makes the installation appear a couple degrees slanted, but there is nothing we can do to fix this.”
We also find it slightly unfortunate that we now have to write this review.
Communication added to the frustration. Because of our busy schedules, we suggested arranging calls in advance and asked them to contact my wife instead so the process could move forward while I worked. These requests were not taken into account.
For an investment of this size, we expected a thorough inspection, clear installation planning, reliable communication and ownership when concerns arose. Our experience fell short in these areas.
If you are investing in a greener home while trying to manage changing energy costs, choose your installation partner carefully. Based on our experience, we would strongly advise thinking twice before choosing Stroomgroep.
