Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Absolutely appalling!

Absolutely appalling!
Absolutely appalling!
Waited 2 1/2 weeks to just receive a quote for the work. I was the one chasing and emailing. They obviously don't need the work.
Do not use.Same experience as another reviewer .
Do not believe the response to this review it’s utter rubbish. I refer you to A.Webbs review who had similar problems and also Viktors review. Company has 3 from 5 review for a reason. This idiot claimed I’d lied about being advised about being phoned back in 15 minutes as I was told the “director “ was on another call not out for day…receptionist is a liar. Did not hang up him either just informed him the review was a true reflection of the service id received and hung up when he kept bleating on about how it wasn’t his fault! Interestingly I run my own company with 5 star reviews and generally only leave 1 star reviews for companies that deserve it. Writing a war and peace response just highlights the incompetence of a company as we all receive a few bad reviews but a good firm can absorb this without affecting the overall score unlike this company. Incidentally I contacted Romala Design. Jason came out the next day and provided the calculations by the end of the week. Highly recommended .

To anybody reading this review, please read our response to see the other side of the story!

Mr. Concar has significantly changed the details of what happened to make it sound awful, and this review is therefore incorrect and extremely unfair. Mr. Concar made his initial e-mail enquiry on Thursday last week (7th November) on a form on our website, saying he wanted to speak to a structural engineer about his design requirement, and that he had attached some drawings. He stated above that he was waiting 2-and-a-half weeks for someone to get back to him, but in fact it was under three working days. (We do try to get back to people a lot faster than three days, but on this occasion, we failed on this aim). He then followed up with a call the same day as it seems he wanted a speedy reply. He was told that nobody was available to speak to him. He says that the receptionist promised that my colleague Peter would call him back in 15 minutes, which the receptionist has told me wasn't the case, as Peter was out of the office all day, and the receptionist knew this.

My colleague Russell responded to Mr. Concar's e-mail yesterday (Wednesday 13th) saying we would be delighted to quote him for the work, and ask him to attach the files as he had mistakenly not attached the files. Mr. Concar's reply was "Seriously? ... out of the blue suddenly you can be bothered to get back to me... Do one ... I now have a reliable structural engineer who will be getting all my projects going forward ... I will definitely be advising anyone looking for a calculation not to use your company". Russell replied with a very polite and professional response, apologising he felt that way and regretting that we wouldn't be able to work together.

As a Director of the company, I then called Mr. Concar to apologise that someone had said Peter would call him back. I asked him if he could share some other details of his experience with us so I could fix it, and he hung up on me. I texted asking for another call but he didn't reply.

One-star reviews are incredibly upsetting to receive, for any company, but especially one that prides itself on great customer service and professionalism, (demonstrated with our countless five-star reviews on Trustpilot and other platforms like Google). It's therefore regretful that Mr. Concar took his frustration out on us in this very public way and then refused to discuss it with me. Interestingly, you can click on Mr. Concar's profile to see that he has left similar one-star reviews with other companies that otherwise have five-star reviews, who didn't get back to him instantaneously.

Meanwhile we will work to get more five-star reviews to try to dilute his one-star review, and if anybody reading this would like more information in how we try to deliver the highest quality service to our customers, please give us a call.

Thank you for reading.
