FRAUD

They sent a damaged backdrop, customer serivce response takes ages. I missed the shoot deadline.
I was informed to keep the backdrop ready and that I would be sent a replacement after the escalation team took a call.
All of a sudden bluedart turns up next day asking for the package. I informed them that pick up and replacement has not been confirmed to me, so bluedart leaves immediately.
I then recieve an email from StudioBackdrops that Because I refused pickup the case is closed. I argue of course and they say that escalate means "they have arranged a pickup and replacement". I say it does not but the customer service (Udit Sen Sharma) is so horrible that they stick to their side of the story. So basically I lost 10K for a rotten damaged backdrop and no news of replacement or refund. DO NOT TRUST this company.

Be careful. Please read.

The paint is beautiful. Does not drip. It’s thick AND because of that thickness the roller pulled the paint up off the wall and created bubbles on the accent wall we were painting with their Porsche shade of Ruby Star. It took 9 hours to prime, fix (repeatedly) and paint. Mind you it’s ONE medium sized wall and used a bit over a gallon of paint. Their colors are stunning. Thought we’d have an upscale experience using this paint. We had an upscale bill. It cost us about $530 to paint ONE WALL. Maybe this is a reason to purchase their primer. We used Sherwin Williams primer.

When Loyalty Meets Disappointment: Our Experience with Studio Backdrops

We've been a loyal customer of Studio Backdrops since 2021, and we've had numerous positive experiences with their products over the years. However, our recent encounter with their customer service and product quality left us deeply disappointed.

Under our brand name, Sacred Weaves, we ordered one of Studio Backdrops' handcrafted studio backdrops via their website. To our dismay, the backdrop we received had prominent wrinkles, making it completely unusable for our professional photography needs. This quality lapse was surprising, considering their reputation.

What shocked us even more was the initial response we received. Instead of promptly acknowledging the issue, the company suggested we attempt to remedy the problem with a steam iron ourselves. This advice felt impractical and frankly, insulting.

Furthermore, Studio Backdrops' handling of the situation seemed to deviate from their own policies. Refusing to accept responsibility for sending out a defective product goes against ethical business practices. They refused the return of a product that clearly did not meet their usual standards, which was simply unacceptable.

Their proposal to accept the return with a 50% deduction from the total cost added to our frustration. We've spent a month pursuing a resolution, and their offer felt more like extortion than a genuine attempt to address the issue.

In summary, our recent experience with Studio Backdrops has been disappointing, to say the least. As a long-time customer, we had higher expectations of their product quality and customer service. We hope they reconsider their approach, rectify this situation, and regain the trust of their loyal customers.

It is unfortunate to receive this feedback from you despite our Customer Service Agent making the situation completely clear and transparent to you.

All Fabric Backdrops sold globally can get wrinkles as all fabrics are prone to wrinkles. Wrinkles are not a defect in any fabric product, and the standard professional practice is to iron them before use. You can find many videos on YouTube instructing you how to do so, as it is the standard practice. Furthermore we found no wrinkles or defects when we received the product.

I would also like to point out that you brought up the excuse of wrinkles only after we rejected your request for a return based on you no longer needing the product. Despite the fact that the backdrop was delivered on the estimated date of delivery.

It is unfair of you to expect us to casually accept the return of a product just because you don't want it anymore and then making up other complaints about it which is not even an issue and an accepted standard practice in the industry.

We have offered you 2 resolutions:

1. We can ship the backdrop back to you as there were no wrinkles or defects in it after you pay the reshipping charges.

2. The agent offered you a 50% refund since we only make handpainted backdrops on order for each and every customer and we will be unable to sell the backdrop you returned and will be scrapping it. We refuse to accept the complete loss due to your not needing the product anymore.

You can choose either of the 2 options and we will proceed with that.

I wish there was an option to give…

I wish there was an option to give lesser rating. Worst online purchase experience ever. I immediately called for a return and exchange right after I recieved the products. I first called , then they asked me to whatsapp and gave a very late response asking me to mail the issue to them instead. When I mailed them they reply saying that the return duration has expired!! What a scam!! U dint even reply for exchange. Please don't trust this brand, the colors r too dull ND not as shown in their website and they stop responding to your messages if u need to return or replace even with the time they mentioned in their return policy. They will waste ur time and say the duration has expired. Don't waste ur hard earned money on these scammers !

You can find all all details about the return process on our website itself.

Unfortunately, we don't process return requests on Call or Whatsapp, and our agents are available from 11am to 7pm, that is why your message at 11:52pm was responded the next working day.

We have specifically mentioned the process to raise a return request on the website, so that Customers are able to receive quick resolutions on whatever issues they're facing. Unfortunately you raised a support request 5 days later and by that time the return/replacement window for your order had already expired as per our website policy.

We will definitely try to highlight the return/replacement procedure more clearly on the website so that customers are able to directly raise a request. Thanks for giving us this feedback that helps us improve. We hope you’ll shop with us again.

Impeccable Customer Service

Initially I was not sure because I saw that they didn't have a lot of followers on Instagram, however I searched news article and finally found the confidence to make a purchase.

The delivery was prompt and I am extremely happy with the service. I ordered a seamless paper, which is a standard product so mentioning nothing about that. But the customer service was excellent.

Excellent quality backdrops

It is not the cheapest but definitely the best store out there for backdrops. I have ordered a lot of backdrops from Amazon, thinking that the next one might just be good enough but it never is. I've only bought two backdrops from studiobackdrops but the quality has been excellent. I'm surely gonna purchase a few more. Their delivery service and customer support is also very good.

Studiobackdrops.com - My Unbelievable experience in this era of e-commerce

oh my god this is quite unbelievable they dont take the product returned if we dont have a valid reason!! my reason was quite simple i didnt like the product (a cotton muslin backdrop i bought ) and immediately after receiving it i have requested for a replacement but till now they are trying to justify their sale.Its very sad that they havent even considering am a repeated client to them and moreever i was not asking for a refund but another product.

To potential buyers ,if you know very well about the product then only you buy from Studiobackdrops.com otherwise their return policy is not a customer friendly.

To Studiobackdrop / Udit sen Sharma - Its not innerwears or similar products you are selling to not take returns, try to be a little more customer friendly no one ever survived with out that.

When you get time please go and see your google business review section to find the list of statisfied customers,do you really think practically all customers will go through your 1 page (damn rigid) return policies before buying a product ? first you need to understand its basic right of the consumer to get a replacement especially when it is purchased online without even seeing the product physically and more over its not a customised product or perishable one which i bought from you , i can also see from your replies to negative reviews that you take it personally and just want to give some excuses for your sale.As i emailed you surely i will check is there any law avaialble in this country to protect my rights as a consumer let court decide.

All details are clearly mentioned in our policy, since backdrops are a product that can be easily used and returned we have the structure in place. You stated your initial reason as "Quality is poor" even though the product was exactly as per the specifications on the website.

After that you mentioned that "It is just a cotton cloth and the price is too much" which is definitely a personal opinion you're entitled to but is not actually a valid reason for return. Specially since it is not just a cotton cloth but a textured muslin backdrop made from premium indian muslin and undergoes several processes to ensure its usability as a backdrop.

Unlike most products like garments which usually have a try before you buy policy, all products available on our website are professional products and therefore cannot be returned in cases of buyer's remorse. Just like one is not able to return a Camera or a Studio Light because you don't like it, a backdrop (which is strictly produced in accordance to international standards of the product) is not returnable just because you don't like it, specially when all details about the product are provided to you.

Our customer & return policy is completely transparent and customer friendly and I'm sure our multitudes of satisfied customers can attest to that.

worst quality of rolls ever

Never Buy from Studiobackrops.com. The sell the most worst quality of rolls ever. My experienced with studiobackdrops.com customer team was very bad.

They sent me a defective piece (out of 2 rolls i ordered) and they did not replace it. Over multiple calls to multiple people I kept explaining that the roll was defective again and again but they kept blaming it back on me. It was very frustrating and disappointing. Did not ever expect this.

To be clear, I hung & then laid out the backdrop on a Hard flat acrylic sheet on floor but it was full of bubbles like a water effect(you can see it in the pic i attached). Even the hung part was the same upto 10' beyond which i did not dare to open.

I immediately rolled it back and informed them. Then I managed to find and use a spare roll on the same base to shoot without issues. The website clearly states that you will replace defective products but all i could see was just excuses & blame-games. It's not the first time I am using rolls, Its been over 13 years.

I would recommend you to order from amazon or somewhere where they have a better customer service in case your rolls turns out to be defective.

I hardly write reviews but I don't want anyone of you to go through the same.

Latest update: After a lot of hustle over the issue, the company refunded it after deducting return delivery charges(although i asked for replacement but never-mind). Overall I would not want to go through something like this ever.
