Honestly 4.5 star; I'm a broke college student studying at the University of Minnesota, and this airline has the cheapest direct flights back home, allowing me to go home for the breaks. Really gratef... See more

HORRIBLE experience. Sun Country has gone downhill. I have flown them for nearly 40 years. They gave away our paid-for-assigned seats to others, had horrible customer service in-flight (2 flight atten... See more
I would give them 0 stars if I could. Second time in 3 years with significant delays due to mechanical issues. First time was a 12 hour delay. The second time was a 26 hour delay/cancellation. This ti... See more

You should just drive.
This company is awful. I wish that someone would pull their landing permits.
I booked a flight with them to North Carolina for a long weekend trip two months in advance. Two weeks in advance, they cancelled my return flight and moved everyone to the following day. Although they claimed that they sent out an email notifying all passengers of this change, they did not. I dug through all my inboxes and spam folders, and the only emails I have from them state my itinerary for my original flight.
My outgoing flight was delayed 5 different times. When I went to check the status the day of my returning flight I learned that they had changed my return date to the following day. I had to be back for an important meeting, so I ended up having to drive the 15 hours home. When I got home at midnight 24 hours later than I should, I was still receiving delay notifications from their flight home, which had not even departed yet.
Whenever I tried to call their general customer service number, it stated, "All lines are busy." Finally, by calling their group booking number, I was able to be transferred to customer service. At which time, they refunded my return flight, but refused to refund my outgoing flight, due to that fact that I had already taken it. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor and told him this was not right because I never would have taken the outgoing flight if I knew they wouldn't get me home on time. I warned him that I would make a complaint to the BBB if he did not remedy this. He said that he as unable to help me, and that as the liaison for Sun Country's BBB affairs, I would receive the same response here.
Sun Country has 0 integrity. I know it's cheap, but DO NOT FLY SUN COUNTRY. You might as well drive.
Booked a flight during COVID
Booked a flight during COVID. Even purchased insurance due to pandemic. Got infected and could not cancel my flight because no one would answer the phone. Tried online for a few days and could never get to the cancelation portion of the site. Terrible customer Service, Non-Existing! The let you leave a name and number so they can call back, but that never occured after two attemps. The folks are terrible and will never consider using them again.
Sun Country stole my money during the pandemic
I booked a flight to a friends wedding in 2019 as part of a google search, atx to cancun. Google suggested delta and sun country airlines as the best "deal" to acquire. I understood booking with sun country air meant I needed to have plans and couldn't cancel after 24 hrs...then, the pandemic. The world shut down, flights were canceled, 90% of airlines (including delta) refunded my purchase. Sun Country, not only did not refund my ticket, but made me book a ticket from MN to FT meyers and told me to call back to change later "voucher"Really? (i look up flights in 2021 for october to cancun)... NOTHING. No flights going out of dfw, houston, atx, nashville, detroit anything. Not even returning flights anywhere! This airline is holding 222$ of mine hostage. They new if they held it for a year, that my bank/debit card had a 90 day limit to cancel/request my refund back...and by telling me i could have this voucher, they made it seem like I could use it to book my flight. I was scammed. NEVER USE THEM. Pay more- It'll be worth it for peace of mind
Upgraded us for free
We we’re flying back home from Vegas to Minneapolis. Originally we we’re on frontier but they overbooked our flight. So we had to scramble to find another flight thankfully sun country was there. There we’re very helpfully and even let us go on the 4:30 flight instead of the 6:30 with no extra charge. Great airline.
Hassle-free refund during Corona
Hassle-free refund during Corona. I would recommend SunCountry to all!
Lost/stolen luggage
Lost/stolen luggage. Flew from DFW to LAS and was forced to check-in luggage that I had already paid for overhead/carry on item due to size. The representative ‘insisted’ that I check the luggage after informing her it was considered a ‘carry on’ item on my outbound flight from LAS. Needless to say, In DFW the same rules didn’t apply because my luggage somehow disappeared. After several requests and unsuccessful attempts to conduct research and investigate...still no luggage.
5 Star plus review for Fred!
5 Star plus review for Fred!! Helpful, courteous, articulate, and explained everything thoroughly!
Terrible CUSTOMER SERVICE
I only give 1star because I have tried to contact Suncountry several ways before writing this review, unfortunately not one person has gotten back with me . We flew to Vegas on Suncountry last minute because AA cancelled our flight , I booked flight on my phone via Suncountry website . The Suncountry website is not easy to use , I accidentally bought 4 bags instead of 2 , which was all we were taking . I paid $120 for 4 bags , which it should have been $60. I called Suncountry and immediately the agent said they do not reimburse for luggage, this was a complete mistake on my part , but figured Suncountry would at least reimburse $60. I also sent a complaint via Suncountry and haven’t heard a word back , it’s been 4 weeks ?!? I think it’s just VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
The worst low-budget airline experience…
The worst low-budget airline experience you will ever have. Never fly this if you can. Pay the extra $20 to fly Delta or other carrier that flies where they do.
Unbudging, cruel, and totally unresponsive staff in-airport and via customer service. Strict 45 minute policy that results in total refund. If you show up in line at the airport 50 minutes early, but wait in their line for more than 5 minutes, they will not honor your flight.
My experience was just this. Family members already on the flight. They said the flight was actually delayed on the tarmac by 2 hours. Attendant at the desk said it was impossible to check-in as the flight took off. Told me to call customer service. This was a red-eye flight. Customer service center was closed.
Called the next day for a resolution was told that I would owe them more money to cancel my flight but that they couldn't charge me due to air regulations, so I actually should be glad.
Never never fly this airline
