Creating the survey was easy. Having an electronic format made gathering feedback for my event a lot easier.
Good interface but terrible pricing…
Good interface but terrible pricing options and terrible clarity. Made out to be somewhat free surveys but the limitations are only imposed on you afterwards. Not being able to view all of the responses, or even pay for less than one year subscription to unlock them is absurd.
Will never use again.

I run a small tech start up and recently set up an account with Survey Monkey with a paid subscription. Today, without any explanation, the account stopped working. No contact from anyone who can help. Zero rating from me.
They charge to export all results and dont warn you
I am in the process of setting up a not for profit group and needed a survey for my registration documents. I set up a survey and got 25 responses which was great but it turns out I need a subscription which costs a minimum of £49 to access my data. Not only is this a huge waste of time and way above my budget it means I have to do the whole thing again with a different group of people. I’m very disappointed, and I don’t feel like they warned me of the costs before I started.
I've just signed up for a new account to check that when you start a first survey and I was right, they don't tell you at that stage that you have to subscribe to a year or month at min £49 to export any data at all - I find this very misleading and it's cost me weeks of work. Dont use them.
So many features missing
So many features missing. We're currenlty trying to shop out other survey/evaluation software. Very frustrates with SurveyMonkey
Unethical
Unethical. They don’t tell you that after 25 respondents you have to pay $100s of dollars for more individuals to complete the survey. All that data and they know you won’t just give up because to get 25 persons to do a survey ain’t easy in these times. If it was a $30 a month it wouldn’t be as bad but $100? High way robbery. And you have to look closely to find that $100 because they want you to pay for the year which is $100s and $1000s. These people are the worst and they won’t strive with that type of mentality.

Love the tool! A suggestion: Would love to see a scheduling poll added to the survey options so you can see totals and who is available easily in the results view (rather than downloading a file). Being able to show results like Doodle Poll does would be amazing!

I made a mistake...and SurveyMonkey took great care to help me rectify the situation (annual payment). Their customer services was outstanding and I will continue working with them.
Survey Monkeys auto renewal and…
Survey Monkeys auto renewal and billing information is buried deep. There is no warning that they will be auto renewing your account and charge your card immediately. The platform pushes upgrades to the point that you don’t know what you do and don't need. Do not use it. It was once a decent site but like most it has turned to greed and rely on clandestine small print buried details to take your money. Do NOT give them your credit card iinfo as it will just be your gift to them to drain your hard earned money. So fed up with all this on line crap that is less and less regulated and not held accountable to be more transparent. May they go bust!

As a full-access user under my company’s current SurveyMonkey subscription, I’ve encountered several challenges that merit attention. While the platform offers a range of features, there is limited visibility into the full scope of capabilities available at our subscription level. I had hoped to access a comprehensive tutorial or onboarding resource to better understand and utilize these tools. Unfortunately, due to the constraints of our subscription tier—which only supports email-based communication—SurveyMonkey was unable to provide a live or interactive tutorial.
This limitation was particularly disappointing, as the platform’s interface has proven less intuitive than expected. The lack of guided support has made it difficult to navigate certain functions, reinforcing the need for accessible training resources regardless of subscription level.
Additionally, the restriction on sharing full survey access exclusively with subscribed users presents a significant barrier for collaborative teams. In our agency, not all team members require full access, yet the current model necessitates costly upgrades simply to allow data review or input. This structure limits flexibility and increases operational costs for organizations seeking inclusive, cross-functional engagement.
I hope SurveyMonkey will consider enhancing transparency around feature access, expanding tutorial availability, and offering more scalable collaboration options to better support diverse teams and workflows.
