I hadn't used a Pixel since my Pixel 2. I purchased this as the OnePlus 7 Pro I had prior was starting to (finally) give out. I absolutely love everything about it, especially the amazing camera. However, there is one major drawback keeping it from earning 5 stars in my eyes. That is, the fingerprint reader is a major step back from the capacitive fingerprint sensor I used to have YEARS ago on my Pixel 2! It is pretty frustrating to use, and I don't think it's an exclusive issue to the Pixel. The OnePlus 6T & 7 Pro in-screen fingerprint sensors were almost as terrible. Thankfully, the face unlock works very well in decent lighting conditions, and essentially everything else is amazing & productive for a daily phone. I don't game, so features like call screening are infinitely more valuable to me than raw performance. I purchased it and got this phone at a significant discount. I would be more upset if I paid full price and had to deal with this ridiculously bad fingerpint sensor. Others have reported 0 issues with it, so perhaps it is my type of skin that is incompatible with it.
