I ordered an engine for my MB SLK230

I ordered an engine for my MB SLK230. One was advertised from SW for $1500 with a 5 year parts and labor warranty. I purchased it and it was delivered to my Mechanic. Turns out it was the wrong engine! After a week of calling and e-mailing and not reaching anyone. I saw a number on the Packing slip. I called this number and a guy helped me out and had another engine delivered to me. It turns out this engine was the wrong engine too. My Mechanic also discovered that it had a bent flywheel shaft. Again, no response from SW. I contacted the guy whose number was on the packing slip and he told me that I have to deal with SW. I have 2 engines sitting in my mechanics garage that I cant return as no one answers the phone or e-mails. I have opened a claim with my Credit Card Company so hopefully they can resolve the matter with SW and get me my money back. I would not buy anything from this company!

Crappy phone service

Crappy phone service! Took 9 call attempts to even get someone on the line. All I want was the Shipping PRO # for tracking. No email or anything yet.

This company is the worst!!

This company is the worst. I ordered an engine, paid with a credit card-thank goodness- and never received one word about shipment. I called and was given the “2 week window” run around. “Please allow 2 weeks to receive your purchase, if it has been more than 2 weeks press 7” no one ever answers and there are no voice mails!!! You literally get hung up on! After 18 days I received an email-the only one since this fiasco started, that said shipment was delayed. It took 15 more days of calling, begging, pleading, and finally threatening to get a refund. If I had wired the money or used a different form of payment I would have been out $2,795.00. I have been without my vehicle a month longer than I should have and now I am still going to wait for another company to deliver another engine. And then with instillation, I will be a total of 2 months without transportation because of these CLOWNS! I am ready to sign up for a class action law suit before they do this to anyone else. The sleepless nights alone have caused enough chaos in my life and family that I literally wanted to drive out there and deal with this in person.

Ordered engine

Ordered engine. They swapped it for a different engine. They refused to make it right. Paid $2495, they are willing to refund $891 as long as I send the engine back. So they made $1600 for shipping the incorrect item.

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

Sounds like the same old story. I ordered an engine in April and it took over a month to receive it. I have been trying to activate the warranty ever since Finally got in touch with Cindy and warranty and she informed me that because it was not activated within 10 days my warranty is now void. How can I activate the warranty within 10 days when no one answers the phone call or returns emails or voicemails. I am in agreements with everyone else that someone should file a class action lawsuit against these people. They need to face justice and stop ripping everyone off.

SW Engines is a JOKE

My experience sounds like a common occurrence. Bought an engine, it failed catastrophically after 11,300 miles. Here begins the nightmare, long story short, the warranty process has come to a grinding halt and they’ve gone radio silent. Looking into a class action lawsuit since I see endless numbers of similar unsettled cases. These guys are rude, uneducated, incompetent criminals. They deserve to face justice. This company exists solely to rip people off!

They are a scam, don't waste your money

I would NOT recommend this company as they are a huge scam. We ordered a transmission on June 5th; they say it takes 7-14 business days which is a lie. We called on the 15th business day and they said oh sorry we shipped it to the wrong place it should be there next week. They told me they would email me the tracking number as soon as they got it. Well after the 20th business day I called Brian the shipping manager back and he said again “I am literally working on it right now” he then stated that I would have a tracking number by the end of the day, and again I didn’t receive it. I continued to call on the 25th business day, and again on the 30th business day again him saying the EXACT same thing he told me each time. I call on the 32nd business day and cancelled the order he then said even though it is in transit. Which I didn’t know since I NEVER received a tracking number, but yes, I cancelled it as we had already bought another one. He said the order would be cancelled and I would receive an email. Well I did receive an email with the tracking number stating it would be delivered the next day. So, I called shipping and tracking again to see if it was cancelled and nope, he didn’t cancel it, so I had to have the customer service lady put in the cancelation. Then told her that they needed to contact the shipping company to stop the delivery as it would not be accepted. That didn’t get done either as they did try to deliver it, without success as it was refused. As it sits today, we are still waiting on a refund. So, do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

God has the last Word..

On March 4 I purchased a motor from this company they offer. A 70000 miles motor or 5 0 k miles warranty when I received on March 12 a big different story the motor look that they have it in a corner on a junk yard they send to me look all rustic upside down with all wiring and connection all bad my motor in my car with 222675 miles look in better condition that the one they send it they charge me 1395 plus 75 residential fee for a total of 1470 after 4 months they only refund me 556.25 because they said that I agreed with their terms when in their “terms” said that they can charge a 25% restock fee.. they keep 913.75 from me a good sale for them but look okay you can keep it but the only thing I will told You is that is a GOD upstairs that is looking down when your company do bad just think on all the ripoff that you do to all the people. If you should charge me the 25% okay I will understand but you know that you took more almost 70% you didn’t know all the sacrifice that I has to do to get that money from family friends because when my car broke down I didn’t have the money to purchased that motor I’m disable person I depend from my transportation to go to my doctor appt ,pharmacy but you think with 500.00 that yousend me I can get anywhere but that’s life thank you very much for all that pain that you Cause me and my family now I don’t have motor no car thank you, keep making money like that .. 2 years later and, how do they stay in business

How do they stay in business ? I had to file a breach of contract with my credit card company, and I did get my money back. This was over two years ago, and the company is still doing the same thing, ripping people off. I didn’t then, and still don’t think they actually have engines to sell. I think they get an order, then scramble to buy an engine somewhere for less, and ship it to their customer, if they find an engine.
Might be time to look into a class action lawsuit.

Buyer Beware!

Buyer beware! It's been a terrible experience trying to work with SW Engine, they sell junk product and won't answer their phone or return messages. As a small auto repair shop, we've lost at least two thousand dollars selling their junk engine to our customer. We stand behind the product we sell and we are stuck with the bill repairing their crap motor to keep our reputation.

If I could give them a 0 star I would

If I could give them a 0 star I would, I ordered a motor and after twice the delivery time they quoted, I had to keep calling and they kept making excuses. The motor arrived damaged, they pointed fingers at the shipping company and they pointed fingers at sw engines. They wont do anything to help out.

I just want the VIN number

I bought a engine for my 2015 Chrysler 200s.
My mechanic would have been done with it in a week but come to find out the engine they sent was for FWD and I have AWD.So he had to switch out a wire harness to make AWD. My mechanic told me he needed the vin number from where the engine came from I called swengines they told me they don’t provide it. They didn’t say they don’t have it but they won’t provide it. The guy I was on the phone with sound like he doesn’t have a care in the world about what I’m going through. My mechanic has the engine in my car but it won’t start. I don’t understand why they won’t provide the VIN number for me.
I have sent emails but I haven’t got a response back from them.
I wouldn’t recommend swengines to anybody

I will never do business with SW Engines again!

I ordered an engine and asked for the delivery confirmation, the serial number, and the engine code so I could verify that the correct engine was installed. The mechanic said he received it and installed it, but I couldn't verify that it was the engine I ordered. I emailed three different email addresses at SW engines and never got a reply. When I finally got a hold of someone on the phone, I was transferred to a man who identified himself as the sales manager. He was rude and unprofessional and not at all helpful. After asking for the serial number several times, he finally shouted, "We don't keep track of those things." Seriously?! I then told him about how I had been trying for months to get someone on the phone or by email and he said none of the email addresses I sent were to the department that deals with those things. I said, "Couldn't someone have forwarded it to the correct department?" He got angry again and said, "There isn't a department that deals with those questions!"

This is the worst customer service experience and the least professional company I've dealt with in a long time. I will never do business with SW Engines again.

I bought a 2001 jeep 4.0L engine for a customer, after 2 month it came back with coolant in the oil, head was cracked, oil pressure was low due to sloppy cam bearings, common on these engines I found out. No warranty because I was 2 days late getting installation information back to them after installation. My shop was busy when the engine came and it wasn't installed right away. my advice, DON'T buy from this company, also their prices are not all that cheap.
