Significant Safety Failure and Contractual Breach

I hired Swiftfleet (Swiftfleet Inspections Ltd, Co. No: 16779854) for a pre-purchase inspection. Despite their technician verbally advising me to 'buy' and claiming the car was in good health, the written report (sent after I had already paid the seller) revealed major turbo and camshaft faults. Worse still, the technician failed to notice missing wheel nuts, a critical safety oversight that the company later admitted in writing was their responsibility, in addition, they missed that the engine management light wasn't showing, which was later found to have been tampered with.
Despite acknowledging their negligence and the 'disconnect' between their verbal advice and the written report, the Managing Director, Mr. Mathievan Jeyananthan, has failed to reimburse the £1,868.90 repair costs. Legal proceedings have now been issued via the County Court to recover these losses. I would strongly advise caution if relying on this service, instead I would use a more reputable company.
