Closed my account for no reason

Closed my account for no reason. Never missed payment. They ruined my credit score because of drop in credit availability and utilization %. Honestly it’s cruel. My account was well taken care of.

They nearly ruined my credit. They will ruin yours.

If you have any cards under this banking institutions umbrella, get rid of them. I'm speaking of lowes ,ebay,Verizon and many many more companies that use them for their credit cards. I had 7 accounts under their brand. A stop payment glitch on a payment that I didnt initiate had them returning all my on time payments claiming insufficient funds. When in fact there was and my bank never recieved any submitted for payments I was making on time. It was their error but reported all these non payments to the credit bureaus resulting in my credit score dropping from 770 to 640 in 30 days. I called and called but they did nothing. I shredded every card I held that was under Sychrony bank. Including my Lowe's pro account and many others. I paid off every balance I had with them and cut every card into the smallest pieces possible and sent them in the mail. I paid my bills on time always. And due to a mistake they made cost me the aggravation. They wouldnt retract the negative info even after realizing I had been paying my accounts. They should be shut down. Many large retailers have dumped them such as Walmart and others. Im looking into any legal action I can take against them.

What a scam

Synchrony has found a way to get money from customers who pay on time. They added a fee of $1.99/mo without prior notice. I have fixed payments so was not immediately aware of the extra fee. I paid the account in full (except the added fees) as soon I was aware of the extra charges. My credit score had taken a hit and they still refuse to remove the charges. What a scam! Do not accept the point of sale offers for 0% interest. They will find a way to get money from you.

Synchrony Bank is the real SOB bank

Synchrony Bank is the real SOB bank. THIS BANK DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE ANY STAR.
They extended me credit of $4,175 with a monthly payment of $99.44 for the duration of 40 months. The first month I paid them $105 before the due date. In the second month, they deducted the full balance from my bank account leaving me with a $200 balance, therefore screwing up all my budget that month with all other creditors.
And it was extremely difficult to contact them to let them know I NEVER AUTHORIZED the full balance deduction. They would route the calls to Asia where it would be midnight or early morning to speak to their rep. It was through countless calls and transfers that I finally was able to get to them in Ohio. These are illegal tactics this scamming bank employed. Search thru the Internet & you'll find unscrupulous actions this bank is doing. It took 6 weeks later to get my full money back from them. I KNOW, ALL THESE TIMES, THEY WERE USING MY MONEY TO MAKE THEMSELVES MORE MONEY - AT MY EXPENSES! SOBs!!!!!!!!!!

A WORD OF WARNING: NEVER EVER DEAL WITH UNETHICAL SCAMMING UNSCRUPULOUS CONNIVING SYNCHRONY BANK & SAVE YOURSELF COUNTLESS HEADACHES.

They suck

They suck. I bought a house, have excellent credit, used my Lowe's for home improvement and 3 months later they cancelled/closed it saying I owed too much! No late payment, always paid more than due. And now, my other Synchrony card for Marshalls/TJ Max, I owe nothing. zero balance. And they just notified me they are cancelling it too!
I won't open an account again if Synchrony is managing it. I also won't be shopping at stores that use them as a provider.

Poor customer experience

They recently “transitioned” to a new system and inconvenienced all their customers by not migrating autopay details and causing all their customers to have to pay double payments (missed and next) to correct their inadequacy. Add to this that once you paid your “past due” amount (which again was their fault) you can’t setup autopay for another 72 hours or so, so you’re further inconvenienced by their mistakes and inadequacy. I would not recommend doing business with this company as they clearly don’t care about their customers experience.

Synchrony has transitioned to there new…

Synchrony has transitioned to there new website recently Synchrony Pay Later, 1st off before transitioning to a website, its pretty obvious there was no prior testing internally before releasing to customers: They want you to set up autopay, If you set up autopay the default is the minimum payment, you can not change the amount you want to pay, to me thats border line fraud- so they won't except more towards the minimum to go to the interest. If you decide to make a manual payment you can enter another amount beside the minimum, but as soon as you process the request they take the payment out that day!, So I am not doing autopay with this company period!. Also I called and spoke to a supervsor last month and they said they were getting swamped with this complaint. this started last month and still they can't figure it out???

Synchrony is awful

Synchrony is awful! I had a Sams Club card and tried to make 2 extra payment from the wrong account with zero balance and they cancelled the card. Never late always paid off. They explained it was automatic but they expected me to keep paying off balance. Because of this my Lowe's card was cancelled. Another card I was never late and always paid off balance. I have a Paypal (Synchrony) which I paid off and my account was put on an automatic security freeze for 15 days. No suspicious activity they just explained it was automatic and nothing they can do.

Is ZERO STARS an option

Is ZERO STARS an option? Synchrony has been showing up all over the place, and everywhere they arrive to take over a “Store” account of mine (such as Amazon, or Mattress Firm), I am running to get away as soon as possible! For people who need products such as a mattress, but have trouble with cash flow, they should Not be tempted by their interest free offers unless the buyer can Absolutely pay off the balance within the promotional period!! Otherwise, you will get slammed by egregious rates of interest that will turn you upside down! You should avoid using any store cards offered by Synchrony Bank! They will succeed in making you poorer should you not be able to pay off the balance within the promotional period, which is exactly what they are hoping will happen! Synchrony is synonymous with all of the worst things you’ve ever heard or read about greedy, sleazy financial institutions, and people should avoid doing business with them at all costs…even if it means sleeping on a concrete floor for a year!! If your credit is good enough, I recommend using “AFFIRM” wherever & whenever it’s available! AFFIRM is a solid and respectable business, with VERY fair & affordable interest rates, snd payment terms! Unlike Synchrony, Affirm offers you the ability to use credit when necessary, but without the ultimate goal of bankrupting you for your usage! To put it simply, SYNCHRONY BANK SUCKS!!! They’re a typical, usury-rate financial firm, that I would like to see much less of.

BEWARE Q CARD/ SYNCHRONY BANK

Something is ROTTEN IN DENMARK WITH SYNCHRONY Q CARD (QVC) DESPITE TRANSFERRING EASY PAY BALANCES OUT OF Q CARD TO MY BANK DEBIT CARD OR OTHER ALTERNATE CARDS, DESPITE MULTIPLE RETURNS
MY BALANCES NEVER GO DOWN NEVER! Several calls to Synchrony customer service & speaking to QVC all responses are as CLEAR AS MUD. I Am reporting BOTH TO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. DO NOT OPEN A Q CARD.When I use other payment sources that ARE NOT THE Q CARD, THERE ARE NO ISSUES, MY PAYMENTS ARE POSTED MY RETURNS CREDITED AND BALANCES REFLECT BOTH.

Due to the tariff recession my business is down, I am unable to PAY on all of my credit cards. Hired Byond Finance to renegotiate with Synchrony, which after 30 days has not responded. They are playing the long game betting that I will cave as my credit score plummets. So, tell me Mr Bain D Doubles, why shouldn't I just file a bankruptcy and be done with this? You would rather get nothing than 50%.

I have been a valued cardholder since…2019

I have been a valued cardholder since 2019 and have paid for this card on time. You lowered my credit limit on the same day I made a substantial payment therefore negatively impacting my credit score. Specifically, I had at least a credit limit of 6500.00 and paid 3,000.00 to this account. And to think that after I paid this amount, I was notified of the lowered credit limit. It was in my best interest to not have paid this amount. I am extremely upset with this process of negatively impacting a consumer’s credit score when the user had the opportunity to increase their credit worthiness by paying down a substantial amount of the balance. I am quite disappointed with this process and lack of transparency when it comes to this credit card. Account holders do not know that they are penalized for paying off the balance because then you are lowering their limit therefore impacting their credit score in a negative fashion.

Agree with the masses

Agree with the masses. Lowes uses Synchrony for their billing and it's dreadful. The web site is the worst. No flexibility, no options to change much to get notifications or billing information. The Synchrony online system is horrible. I'm sending back my Lowes card and will stop shopping there until they switch companies.

WORST BANK EVER!!

WORST BANK EVER!!! I pay my bill on time every month and my balance keeps going up! I call to see if there is something that can be done...ummm nope! They will not work with their customers. I hope they go out of business so they can't screw anyone else out of thousands of dollars. And every business that uses them should lose business just for using this POS bank!

Awful Customer Service. Never use Paypal World Mastercard.

Awful Customer Service. For some reason, unbeknownst to me, the backend bank connection system between my bank and my Paypal World Mastercard was broken, so that when I tried to make a payment on my card as usual, I got a $29 returned check fee, and I had to reconnect my bank again in order to make the payment. However, when I called Synchrony customer service to complain about the returned check fee, they did nothing to help, and basically told me to go F myself. Absolutely awful customer service. I will never be using this card again.
