I am just a beginner with Synthesia, discovering it for my teaching profession. I found Synthesia can serve my purpose very well. I have yet to discover the end product in my mind like I want my Avata... See more

Welcoming and Knowledgeable Hosts
The host is very welcoming and social so it helps the learning process. They are also very knowledgeable and show many different features of Synthesia. There is also someone in the call taking questions and answering them as they come in, so you don't feel like you are confused.
Avatar with no audio
I got a very quick answer from two differnt sources.
Purchased Credits Expire Without Use – No Flexibility or Support
I purchased credits from Synthesia to create AI videos, fully expecting that these paid minutes would remain usable indefinitely. Instead, Tess (Synthesia’s “AI Agent”) and Maurice informed me that all unused minutes simply expire, regardless of whether you cancel or renew your subscription. Paid services simply disappear without compensation – it doesn’t get more customer-unfriendly than this.
Even after asking for a solution, no goodwill or alternative was offered. Instead, you’re redirected to FAQ pages while Synthesia continues to collect monthly payments.
For businesses expecting reliable planning and transparent conditions, Synthesia is not recommended. I can only advise you to carefully consider whether you can live with these conditions before investing here.
Poor
Talking head videos will get you so far in any learning experience, and in my opinion, these AI generated avatars have a long way to go before they are watchable. Everyone at Synthesia seems blind to the fact that most people, when you ask them, prefer real humans, or some kind of interactive learning experience, both of which Synthesia cannot provide.
Furthermore I had a load of content rejected by Syntheia for being 'prohibited' - I was trying to make some informative videos about Sufism?! nobody at Synthesia was interested in helping me or discussing this, so it turns out I'd wasted my money.
Before you consider Synthesia as a cheap way to produce 'learning' content, consider what cheap actually means....
I did overcome my stage fright with it.
Impressive product for crafting your AI avatar and letting it create various presentations.
Support is still hands-on, listening to users and reacting in near real-time.
I did overcome my stage fright with it.
Waste of money
Waste of money. I offer Legal services and that is a breach of their terms. Tried several times to create a video using their Avatars with different wording that shouldn't have violated their terms. I guess just mentioning the word Legal is enough to flag the video as violating their terms. Then I get the following message "Your account has violated our terms of service and policies on multiple occasions and this serves as your final warning.
Further infractions may result in account suspension or termination".
So, I decided to try creating my own Avatar and that experience was awful as well. I did everything right. Kept still. Read the words given to me. Somehow, the side of my head kept moving in an out like I was a freaky space alien! But, I had to generate a video to see my newly created Avatar in action, which used up part of my 10 minutes I am allowed for the month even though I never published the video!! After several Avatar creation attempts, several garbage videos because of unrealistic Avatars that looked more like something trying to come out of my head, I used up the 10 minutes I am allowed for the month without publishing a single video because I deleted them all as they were garbage.
Wasted lots of time. Overly sensitive content moderation that resulted in threats to terminate my Account. I am so thankful I only paid for 1 Month. I am cancelling my subscription and am seriously considering doing a chargeback on my credit card as I never got a single video I could use.
To Synthesia, I know exactly what your reply to my comment will be as I have read your reply to other reviews that says "Rarely our automated systems flag content incorrectly."
Your automated systems are the worst. Your comments to Negative feedback speaks volumes about the kind of company you are. As far as you are concerned, your product is perfect and it is your customers that have done something wrong to flag the videos as violating your overly strict content moderation policies.
I had a terrible experience with Synthesia
I had a terrible experience with Synthesia. At first I was very impressed with the tool and the workarounds, however, after I created a few educational videos, they told me that the content was in breach of their policy and practically, making it impossible for me to do any videos. The content of my videos were on margin call and we use these videos to educate new bankers about what to do when there is a margin call scenario with their clients. It is a very common topic. But I was shocked that they don´t allow that. So if you are thinking of signing up with them, think again and make sure you check first with them if they would allow you to create the videos you want.
Nice to have the personal touch
Nice to have the personal touch. Lousine is a solid presenter, knowledgeable and with to the point. Easily answered my questions. Thanks!
No jOke!
Now I've messed around with plenty of AI video generators in my time. and NONE has been as restrictive as Synthesia!
Holy cow!
Can't even generate a joke video and they refuse to produce it!
If you have an old school sense of humor stay away!
Their limits are ridiculous
Their limits are ridiculous! For $30 bucks a month you get a whole 10 minutes of video creation that is it! Other sites give you unlimited so their pricing is crazy.

Increase video content consumption
It was great to learn how to make focused learning videos that maximize the potential of the message being delivered.
Very easy to use
Very easy to use
Good selection of avatars and was easy to design
Very poor
Very poor. A completely innocuous test video was deemed unacceptable content and they kept charging for 3 months. Cancelled now - £240+ for nothing.
Would not recommend
Would not recommend. They are obviously doing everything within their power to get more money out of you, not customer friendly at all. Very frustrating.

I bought it and now two of my clients followed suit
Customer service and community is first rate and responsive (@Lousine). That is important when trying out new things and figuring out how one could scale out service.
The AI Video capabilities are the best that I have come across so far (I evaluated a few tools) and video production levels are really good. Looking forward to where they go wrt object animation.
I bought the creator license for myself and now two of my clients followed suit. Hopefully they go towards Enterprise level so I can play with those capabilities.
Oh, and Cory @ Synthesia.io writes pretty good emails. Good enough to get me to write a review.
