I just purchased the 1791 whiskey flag from tac traps, and I gotta say I am blown away with how amazing it is. Absolutely gorgeous piece!! I had a slight mixup when it arrived as the COA wasn’t with m... See more

Received a trap that had dead batteries. Contacted customer service and was informed that my trap did not have a battery backup capability despite many pictures being sent. Was informed to buy a wedge tool to open the trap by force. Upon opening the trap was surprised to see that my trap in fact has a battery backup. Spoke with customer service over email as well as on the phone and they insured me my trap did not have a battery backup. I have now ripped the screws out of my trap on the suggestion of the customer service agent when I could have bought a battery backup. Would not buy from this company again

I have had problems with this shelf since I got it. It didn't want to close had to readjust the latch several times to get it to close. But batteries in and got it to close finally. Doesn't give you any warning that the battery is getting low and the door won't open. Had to pull on it to open it. There should be another way to open it in case the battery runs low so that you would have a way to get it open in case of emergency. This was made poorly and not thinking things out. I don't recommend this item at all because you may not get into it when you need it so why have it. Looks good but doesn't do a Damm thing.

Safety begins with safe storage. Convience and access is the competitive edge for home defense. My unit blends into my office decor. My unit provides all of these plus peace of mind.

Arrived in a timely manner. Trying to figure out where to the case at.

I bought the Tactical Traps shelf and it worked fine for a couple of months, then the battery inside died and luckily it came with a battery pack in which I placed 4 brand new triple a (aaa) Duracell batteries into it then went over to the shelf and plugged it in. It Didn't work. I tried again, still didn't work. I called customer service and they asked what kind of batteries I was using I said Brand New Duracell batteries and she said "oh, we recommend using energizer batteries", I laughed and then told her I would break open the unit and buy another one from a reputable company. She proceeded to tell me if I would send a Video of the process to support of what I was doing to try to get it to work (which was plugging in the accompanying battery pack into the bottom of the unit), she might be able to speak with someone about fixing the unit. Be aware if planning to buy from this company.

I own a handful of this company's products. The construction is solid, they are very heavy and made of solid wood which makes them secure.
Unfortunately for the price I kinda expect the hardware to work better. Each unit has had some sort of issue. So here are some mods that I've made to every one of these that I've purchased:
1) Replace the gas shocks with a slightly more powerful gas shock. Measure the one it comes with them order a replacement one from Amazon. The shock doesn't have enough ## to open the door quickly when needed.
2) the lights inside are cool, motion sensitive. But, they don't stick on very long. you'll need to secure the lights better with 3M double sided foam tape, etc.
3) the latch mechanism: )especially on this shelf) will wear out and need to be replaced
4) the RFID and bluetooth - a huge flaw in the bluetooth app (used to remotely open your safe's) is that you can't RENAME the safes in the app...so if you're in the app I guess you have to memorize the factory assigned (long) number of each one because if you OPEN on the wrong one, it'll open somewhere else in the house where you may not be. Ugh. HUGE FAIL. And, one of our units disconnected from the RFID card, so they sent me another card and a 4 page instruction sheet on how to reprogram the thing...right, I'm not gonna figure that out...so now I have a pew locked in a safe that I can't open.
Again, Solid units, but you need to do the mods and be ready for the little quirky things that come up with them.

The product is great but the customer service ridiculously poor. We are missing one magnet, one light, and the three rf keys. The female customer service support person was snippy and said we had to copy from”their instructions” the items we should have received and send them a picture before they will consider sending the items we paid for with our purchase. WHY would I need to send them their picture? This makes zero sense. Not only will we not purchase anything from this company again, including two gifts we thought would be perfect Christmas gifts.

I accidentally locked myself out of the box. I couldn't find the answer online so I emailed support. She responded within a day with the solution and it worked on the first attempt.

I liked the discount option you provided to potential customers. I do NOT like that there is NO status update on the delivery status or Date of Delivery. Frankly, if I would have known this - I probably wouldn't have ordered and may well return the item I purchased w/in the 30 Return policy. Sorry - I expected more input a/o feedback from TacticalTraps.

Got one of their least expensive models. Does not close properly. Does not open.
Customer service told me I could buy a new latch.
I think it's kindling

Hello.
Bree was very helpful.
Linking the old system from 2020, and the new lock was key.
This happened well.
The new lock is hands down superior to the old one. In other words the video programming matched the new lock.
I am considering replacing my biometric on another unit I own just because of the positive change with my whiskey barrel flag shelf.
Thank you Glenn

The ordering was easy and the shipping was quick. However, the sticky sheet on the back of the foam wanted to peel off, with the thin sheet that was supposed to be removed to stick it down. Other than that, it worked out. Very cool products. Thank you for the hard work and dedication to American made.

I ordered a shelf. Delivery date listed as 7 to 14 days. It came 6 weeks later after numerous phone calls. I had to return it and now I’m waiting for a new order
I can’t speak to the quality of their product since I haven’t received a completed order

I'm just disappointed that I had the buy a extra battery pack because the one that came in the shelf was locked into the shelf and there was not any notification that it needed to be opened right away to get the battery pack out of the shelf.
Very important detail.
The shelf is great looking and I'm excited to install it but seems like this situation could have been avoided with better notice.

Great people to do business with, good communication, fast and prompt shipping, great quality. I love my Tactical Trap. It was a Christmas gift from my wife, years ago.
