They stopped taking my insurance and…

They stopped taking my insurance and notified me via email 2 days before my session and never informed my mental health provider. I canceled my 2 scheduled appointments with her and got a letter from her stating she was dropping me as a client for too many missed appointments!, apparently she still didn't know.

Quick Appointment and Great Care

I was able to be seen as a new patient quickly. Local Drs were only available months in advance so I tried this service. My Dr. Columban Heo is awesome. He is helping me with ADHD. The first medication made me feel like a zombie and I messaged him about and he was quick to act. He has kept an eye on my blood pressure and gone above and beyond to help me find something that worked. I was skeptical at first about Tele-health but this was a great experience and I would recommend anyone needing help to use this company. He is easy to talk to and I do feel like he cares about helping me and cares about my health especially when starting new medications.

Talkaitry is an excellent choice for a psychiatrist.

My doctor, Dr Jacob Kannarkat is an excellent doctor. He is friendly. He makes me feel comfortable. He remembers things about me. He is very knowledgeable and doesn't just write a prescription and hurry off. He is always on time when we have an appointment. He answers my messages that I send. I'm 68 years old and I have had only a few good doctors like him.

Talkiatry awful, my provider excellent

First and foremost my provider is excellent, talkiatry on the other hand is near worthless. The customer service is nothing but repeated lies and forget about trying to obtain your medical records, the process will leave you needing a complete other therapist. You cannot directly contact the medical records team but can run in circles over and over with the support staff who happily lie to get you off the phone. The only consistent thing you can rely on is the bills.

Absolutely Horriffic

I have had 3 scheduled appointments. The first one went well. I really liked the DR. THEN, once she changed my meds, the following two appts she cancelled a couple of hours before they were to occur. This left me out of medication w/o a way to get a refill. The company itself has offshore support that is absolutely USELESS. I will not use them ever again. They put their patients health at risk and are incredibly unreliable. DO NOT USE!

Scam alert

Scam alert! Pitiful to pretend to offer services to help mental health issues, just to scam a vulnerable group. After making an appointment, the "provider" cancelled. Then I confirmed cancellation. Just to receive another message stating I missed my first appointment. I never received any link to any call, and confirmed twice the provider canceled. They are disorganized and you should not feel comfortable or confident with them. They are a headache to deal with. Who knows if they even have real providers or it's all just a scam.

Scheduled an appointment 2+ weeks in…

Scheduled an appointment 2+ weeks in advance. Got plenty of reminders, was told there was a $100 fee if no show, got reminders the day before, the morning of, and one hour before. Joined and waited 15 minutes. Contacted chat and their response? Welp - I guess the provider doesn't practice in my state so they cancelled. Um, when? Absolutely horrible experience.

Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service.

1. They do not reply to emails. SLA is 3 business days (which is poor btw) and even then they do not reply - you have to follow up and call for updates regularly
2. Medical requests take forever. It took 7 days for them to even start my request 7 days to simply release the form.

My doctor is lovely worst customer service in my entire life

Most unhelpful unethical customer service I have ever EVER experienced.
I hope when you are in need, someone treats your family with the "help" that you offered me.
After filling out an assessment for my daughter three months before I emailed Support called Support and even refilled out the same paperwork more than once.
They refused to let me speak to a manager and still repeated the exact same thing as though I was... crazy
There are some amazing doctors on here, but please if you can go anywhere else. I would go there after this. People are going to seek online help bc they need it. Refusing to help someone bc acting like a robot and repeating them to fill out the paperwork is highly ...out of touch. It's unethical to do.

DO NOT USE!!!!

Terrible! Overcharged for appointments, added additional charges. My psychiatrist had her child come in the video call a couple of times, and appointments weren't even full length sometimes. I lost my job and had to quit talkiatry and couldn't pay my bills for a month or two and I called them but they didn't care.keep in mind,I was paying small amounts at a time during this time because even the payment plan was too high. They sent debt collectors after me for not paying the full amount for 200$ in only TWO MONTHS ,GREEDY COMPANY!!!

The best decision for putting yourself first

The ease and accessibility of having my mental health care taken care of is great! The therapist and psychiatrist I got paired with are amazing also. They’re so easy to talk to and truly want what’s best for you. I highly recommend Talkiatry for anyone needing help and wish to remain where they are comfortable.

I was billed $710.00 which included an extra fee of $250.00 for Additional supportive therapy - 90836

It was a very bad experience.

It was a very bad experience.
The company is staffed with customer service people from other countries who's accent is hard to understand. They follow a script and you wait 10 days from contact to get a referral. Then that person in a country far away is the ONE to hook you up with a ( match) psychiatrist. so a stranger working in customer sx, is going to KNOW who you need??/NOT POSSIBLE. I got a horrible provider, 1st session was technical difficulties( no session), 2nd she cancelled 2 hrs before, 3rd session she was late and also read from a script with no intent to develop a relationship or get to know me. questions asked, I answered, she moved on. Don't let a stranger prescribe medications for you when they don't KNOW you. Then they can be contacted ONLY if write a note through the website and they have 3 days to get back to you. if you run into trouble she said go to the er........bad bad medicine

Talkiatry deceptive billing. Useless psychiatrist.

I had one meeting online in 2025 with a psychiatrist from Talkiatry.com. Their website said that with most insurance the total paid by the consumer is around $30. I have Medicare. The total bill was $710 for a 54 minute visit! Later they emailed me that the visit was 57 minutes. Talkiatry wants me to pay over $200.

They had 2 billing codes:
One is “a virtual visit with a clinician to evaluate your condition, provide a diagnosis, talk about using medication for treatment.” $460
Two is “psychotherapeutic techniques like supportive psychotherapy, psychoeducation or cognitive behavioral therapy”. $250

I never received any therapy at all in code two. In code one it was only “evaluate your condition”. I never received a diagnosis, psychological help or a prescription of medication.

The psychiatrist was cold, acting like I was a criminal. I later found out he is a Forensic Psychiatrist. He did not help me at all. He kept repeating the same questions over and over. He asked if I had any surgeries. I said I broke my arm as a child (age 8) when I fell down running. He asked over and over if I had surgery or not on my arm. I said I did not know. I only have a few memories from that incident. What does my broken arm have to do with me now? I am in my 70s.

The psychiatrist was 10 minutes late for the appointment, but I still got billed for that time.

Talkiatry is deceptive and unethical in their advertising and billing. Their customer service is poor. I contacted them by phone and email with no help in the fraudulent billing.

I asked customer service to watch the video of my visit with the psychiatrist to prove I never received anything mentioned in Code 2. They refused.

For more information do a Google AI search “Talkiatry fraud”. Many people have reported being billed for services they never received.
