Gone downhill

Used to love the channel. Some great old films and tv drama but now there are so many repeats and films between the 1970s and 2000s that obviously didn’t make it on mainstream. Now they’ve started doing cash competitions with a third party I switched off in disgust. No longer an original channel too much competition from elsewhere.

I used to love the superb old films but…

I used to love the superb old films but now they seem to have replaced these with endless series like Batman or the man from uncle. Both bore me. The other infuriating thing is the endless adverts every few minutes. And then they always seem to be trying to sell you something 🥺 I have now switched to Legend at least every other advert isn't about death. It's mist upsetting being bombarded with funeral adverts. If you want to keep your viewers stop showing so many. It's very upsetting for some people. Myself included. And bring back the films. There must be millions to choose from

My favourite channel ever

I don't know what I would do without TPTV as I hardly watch anything else. Absolutely love watching shows and films spanning decades of the past. Such a fascinating experience and content is so much slower paced and more relaxing. As someone who worked in film festivals and film, I adore that it's a small family outfit doing this and clearly a labour of love. People here complaining about advertising - just pay for the subscription. All channels are heavily inundated with advertising now and you can't expect a small platform like this this to subsist off nothing. Keep going guys, what an absolute delight!

Size's are so wrong

The sizes on the clothing merchandise is so not correct I purchased a small ladies after I checked measurements sizing etc that was supposed to be more like medium with the chest shoulder measurements but after I ordered a ladies t shirt when it came it was so small I purchased this for a Xmas present for my mum who is very small and petite but it was to small for her so very disappointed for both of us and a waste of money so if you buy any clothing size up by 2-3 sizes.

I don't know what's gone wrong but this…

I don't know what's gone wrong but this channel has started to show a lot of very old films about 80/85 years old. The trouble is the quality of the picture and sound which is quite poor. We have become much more used to the high quality of modern film. I have lost interest in this channel. Shame because it started off so good.

Used to LOVE this channel

Used to LOVE this channel, especially with all the dross that is shown on tv now that is absolutely rubbish
But around a year or so, things started to change, for the worst. Repeated films, series repeats after only being shown a few weeks previous. BUT the worst thing of all was the Monumental increase in Advertising, that has infiltrated this once fantastic channel. If I randomly put TPTV on, there is either an advert already playing or within a few minutes of watching said channel, one will pop up which will play
for FIVE minutes, I have timed them, because I as many viewers I'm sure, simply HATE advertisements with a passion,I simply mute the tv, if it's a particular programme/movie I wish to continue with, or I will switch channels. They even add 5 minutes to a 30 minute programme, which is only really programmed for 25 minutes or so, and don't mention a film that has a running time of say, 90 minutes. That will be extended to around 105 minutes.
The advertising is good for the company, but it's also driving viewers away, in my humble opinion. And with the content of this channel, starting to get samey, I can see them losing their once, coveted spot with the more mature audiences, which I am one of.

Seems to have gone downhill

I quite liked TP 3 or 4 years ago, although it still had it's flaws. The downside is that most of what they show is either very old, or pretty average, because that's what they can get the rights to free or cheaply. The upside, is that many of the really old films are quite good, and the later, mediocre stuff, can have nostalgic value, or occasionally be something pretty good that history forgot.

Lately, however, they seem to have lost all ambition. They repeat stuff to absolute death, and rarely add anything new of any value. There are dozens more half-decent 1970s-1990s shows, both kids and adult, that weren't popular enough for mainstream repeats, so could surely be sourced pretty cheaply, but they show no interest in adding to their catalogue. Just a big missed opportunity.

Used to love The Cellar Club!!

Used to love The Cellar Club!!, but unfortunately its gone right down, in my opinion, especially this year2025.
Repeats of Doomwatch again!! Straight after showing the entire series, repeats of films already shown a month or so before!!. Come on TPTV you can do better than that!!.....

CBC, Constantly begging channel.

I understand that tv companies need income to servive but it's getting rediculous.
The constant scenes of starving, water problems and illnesses in foreign parts is an attack on the viewer demographic being of an older age is nothing but emotional blackmail.
Being part of that demographic I'm tuning out more and opting for Pluto tv.
Yes you will get the odd add for these concerns but they are not coming in streams and sometimes rivers as they do on TPTV.

It was ok to start with

It was ok to start with; lots of series I missed as a kid and screening of many rare old films. Problem is they are running out of stuff now; and this means endless repeats of series like Public Eye, Edgar Wallace mysteries and Scotland Yard. I scroll through their week’s schedule, to see what’s on but find myself recording/watching very little now.

Far too many funeral adverts

Far too many funeral adverts
I thought this channel was for entertainment but it reminds you of death.
Especially with fake funeral advert design to take money from the vulnerable elderly. Sad Chanel

To many repeats. There is not many new shows just repeats especially series episodes. Another problem is there red button you can't forward or rewind when your watching. Not that bad really but it needs adjusting

Probably the best channel in the U.K.

Watched the channel and bought products from the company, they are probably the best at their jobs, very entertaining TV, products get to me quickly and the single problem I had with a purchase they corrected with in days. Gets my vote.
