Brilliant service - excellent value for money

Brilliant service. I first bought a memory card with maps over 10 yrs ago -- enjoyed it ..I could never afford the OS bundles on my gpsr. On a trip to Spain, his Spanish maps were brilliant. Then one day a year or so ago, changing batteries on gpsr-- must have lost the card - requested a new one - was very promptly delivered. Now that gpsr has failed me (rubber buttons broken so cannot zoom in/out) so bought myself a new device. A day or so later, thought to order new maps from Martin -- the micro sd card from Martin arrived -- I am still waiting for the new gpsr (both supposedly sent from within UK). Great service, great maps and excellent value for money

Excellent product and service

I purchased a subscription to the UK 1:50k map for use on a Garmin Fenix 5X plus. The combination of the map and watch is an amazing addition to my running and walking adventures where some element of navigation is required.
The mapping detail is just right - enough information to help you find your way without any unnecessary clutter on the screen.
I would highly recommend Martin's service at Talkytoaster

Best maps for Garmin and other GPS devices and they are free / very cheap

The talkytoaster maps are effectively the best maps available for Garmin and other GPS devices. Just not worth buying the Garmin or Ordnance Survey ones in comparison to these. Worth paying the tenner or so for the 1:50k look and feel although the free ones are themselves superb and I'd used them for years before finally deciding to get the paid-for ones.

No hesitation in recommending Martin…

No hesitation in recommending Martin aka Talky Toaster. I have downloaded a paid for map, and also downloaded a free one. Both times with no problems. I contacted Martin with a query recently, and within five minutes he had called me by phone to explain something, & more besides..
...
I bought the TT1:50k look and feel map.
The OSM maps which these are based on are always work in progress so may not be as comprehensive as Ordnance Survey, but for the cost they are incredible value. They are also updated more regularly. In places they actually show more detail than the Ordnance Survey , such as stiles etc etc.. I use them on my Etrex 20x, alongside a smart phone which has Ordnance Survey mapping on. It is getting to the point where my smart phone stays in the ruck sack...

Five stars from me thanks.

Reply from Talkytoaster

Chris, I have tried to call you a number of times, as it is easier than me replying to an email to discuss your issue, but all I ever get is some automated voice system where I can't even leave you a voice mail. I offer a very high level of customer service and checking my records I can find only ONE email from you asking for assistance. There are step by step video tutorials on my site as how to install the relevant maps, and in the case of the BaseCamp versions, the installation is identical to installing the free map (which you say you have already done). To select a version for BaseCamp from the subscription site, simply log in, from the categories listed on the right hand side of the page, select PC (for Windows) or Mac. It will then show you the BaseCamp versions and from there you can download them... Please call me to discuss any questions you have, Happy to assist, always.

Excellent service

Excellent service. When I had some technical issuues of my own making, Martin responded quickly to help me resolve the problem and even phoned to check that I had sorted everything out. Maps are great, and even manage to make the OS map look a bit clunky when you need to zoom in close.

Great map set

Great map set. I bought the UK routable mapset from Talkytoaster in 2014 for use on the Ridgeway trail. Worked great and I used it in 2015, 2016, and 2017 on other trails. This year I am doing the Coast to Coast and decided to update. Having looked at the trail on the old mapset, this new one is greatly improved. Fast service, got the card in only a week here in the USA. I am very happy that I updated to the new maps.

Just Superb!

From my short time using the map, British Isles & Irland, contours paid version, just fantastic! .... Why oh why do Garmin ask so much for thier maps! ... Ok you can't update them but can buy 20-30 of Mr Talky, or is it Mr Toaster' maps and still have change.
He must love his work, he does many maps FOC, or just a really top bloke. Either way buy from him or donate he truly deserves it.

I have read of one or two issues about not showing something or other, Ive not discovered it yet, but come on, for 11 quid!

Having gushed about them, I will add. If it fails me in the middle of nowhere or I fall off a cliff ( I know you should carry paper also ) and I survive, I'll be back swearing at him! I doubt it though he's been doing this a while I believe.

Don't hand cash over to the big players, there's no need from what i've seen so far.

I highly recommend Mr Talkytoaster for your maps.

Excellent

Excellent – no reservations, I would recommend to anyone with a Garmin GPS or could use on Basecamp for creating GPX files. Buy the TT 1:50K Look n Feel for £11 - it really is worth it and helps reward Martin for his efforts.

Swift response

Been very happy using British Isles 1:50 map since last year. I enquired on availability of a map to use for holidays; "not yet, but working on it". Martin created it and I had it loaded and working just days after the enquiry. Great response & very happy. Many thanks.
