Seeing as Ive been unable to even order…

Seeing as Ive been unable to even order a pump bc their customer service has been horrible, I will not be going with a Tandem pump. I think my experience so far tells me all I need to know. I can’t even speak with a rep who know what they are doing and no one calls you back. I told them my pharmacy insurance (not my medical) will cover everything and they insisted it was going to be over $1,500 and wanted to take my payment right away. I spoke with my insurance right after and was told I shouldn’t be paying anything. It’s 100% covered. What a scam.

I've called technical support 4 times…

I've called technical support 4 times in 3 months. Spent over an hour on the phone each time. My problem is not solved and my pump does not function properly. I was told that support was unrivalled and that they would look after me as a client. The pump cost $6000. I feel abandoned by Tandem. "Tandem DOES NOT Care"

Awful pump which failed tonight but unable to reach customer service technical support

Have had this pump
For four long years. Had to buy separate case with rotating clip otherwise it is upside down when you try to use it. Touch screen is awful constantly goes blank. Total fiasco trying to change a set with the million and one loops
To jump through and barely holds a connection to G6 sensor for more than 5 mins. Tonight the pump failed. Bluetooth went down, and then stopped working. Called Tandem and they simply had an automated voice directing me to email before cutting off. There is no longer a 24/7 service so Lucky I have back up pens. When I was with Medtronic they had no issue sending replacement pump within 12 hours but it will be two working days before I even get a response.

BEWARE of tslim malfunctions in sleep / activity mode

Type 1 diabetic 51 years, insulin pump user for 25 years. My 2nd Tandem Tslim pump malfunctioned for months. During sleep mode, the Control IQ brain was changing my sensor type from G7 to G6 and back to G7, disconnecting and reconnecting to my CGM and would allow my BG to crash to 42 numerous times for over a year. All while I was sleeping and not touching my insulin pump NO matter how I adjusted my basal rate, this pattern repeated over the calendar year of 2024-25 I keep a note on my bedside table that says"If found dead, sue Tandem TSlim." Date listed is only one of the dates

In exercise mode, with a blood sugar of 132 trending down, the Control IQ gave me a bolus to adjust blood sugar to 110, consequently I ended up at 52.

These problems all began before I had the pump for a year

I’ve never written a review on anything…

I’ve never written a review on anything before but tandem deserves one. Needed an upgrade to switch to Dexcom G7 and my warranty had just ended 2 weeks prior. So my doctor switched me to g7 and my pump wouldn’t support it without the update but tandem will not update the pump claiming it’s against protocols. All they care about is making more money and selling new pumps. God forbid helping the patient with simple things like an update that takes 5 minutes and cost them nothing and even if it did I would pay whatever to keep myself healthy and controlled. They can forget any future business if that’s how they view patients. All about money and that’s it. Diabetic for 31 years and this is by far worst company I’ve dealt with yet and that’s saying a lot.

I would score lower if I could

I would score lower if I could. I've had the X2 system for a few years with the autosoft xc infusion sets. They're horrible, I average 1.5 days of usage and sugar levels rise. I never had these issues with Medtronic's sets, 3-4 days with theirs.

The Tslim is absolutely awful

The Tslim is absolutely awful! I hate everything about it. I had a Medtronic reval for 25 years with no issues. The Tslim is cheap over-programed, crap with thousands of issues. Filling it is a prolong unnecessary process, tubing is curly catches on everything, insertion device cheap poorly made plastic crap that can come apart, requires multiple stupid unnecessary steps and is slow. The pump buttons are small, the fill port is pinpoint and poorly made. I have replaced the charge port at least 6 times the tiny rubber stopper falls off and breaks. No battery requires daily charging. The pump looses 30 to 50 units of insulin with every 3 day (cant change it keeps alarms), a total expensive waste. The alarms are maddening, constant, redundant, Unnecessary, obnoxious!! My A1c is higher with this pump. The AI is horrible! You cannot individualized settings. So 110 is universal BS. so if 112 auto corrects and hypoglycemia. The 5 hour window for insulin on board horrible, should be 3hrs. I wouldn't recommend this pump to anyone. I am T1D 50 yrs, and a RN familiar with pumps and the processes of diabetic management. The Tandem App is a joke. The pump is 6 inches from phone and disconnects multiple times a day. It requires reconnecting the Bluetooth 10 times a day. Customer service is slow from overseas, and they read you repetative cue scipted sheets with every call. After you hold 60 min to connect. The artificial intelligence prevents optimum management in my opinion. Overall the pump needs comprehensive reevaluation and redesign. I am counting the days until my insurance allows me to change pumps. I will discuss going back to injections. The Tandem sites leave scars and irritation so thats also not site tandem benefit for me.

Replace the CEO

After using the Mobi for one year I'm looking to switch. The infusion set I use is on back order and no one from Tandem cannot estimate how long it will last. The only thing they can do is send me a different infusion set with a tube 18 inches longer than I need or use. They need a new CEO!! Now.

Horrible software; incorrect and unchangeable settings and alarms

Everything was fine initially when I received the pump. But I noticed when I put Control IQ on, it won't let me change the duration of the insulin I'm given. One thing I do know is that it's NOT 5 hours - but that's what it has to be for Control IQ to even turn on. Changed all my settings to work with that because at first it threw all my sugars off (dangerously so - I was in the hospital three times in the first two months for overnight lows). When I get a Minimed again (because it WON'T be Tandem) i'll have to change them back. Some alarms can't be changed, adjusted, or cancelled - yes I know, safety and all that. It's on its highest setting for night time and doesn't wake me even when it's clipped to my shirt collar. And during the day my sugar runs about 75 to 95 most of the time - I DON'T need my pump screaming at me - ALL DAY LONG - because my sugar is less than 80. And the software that connects pump, phone, and sensor is absolute dirt. Have to reconnect my phone about every 36 hours or so. Super annoying when I need to bolus in the car or at work. I work with children who, if they see my pump, will actively try to pull it out - therefore I can't just be taking my pump out of my pocket to bolus. And having it alarm all the time makes it pretty hard to hide too. If I had the way to manage it, I'd go back to injections rather than use this garbage.

I am going a different direction!!!

I have tried to get and use this pump twice. There won’t be a third time. I have never made it to actually using the device. The first time was a failure when the company representative simply dropped the ball over and over to the point that I became obvious that no matter what I did the pump was not going to happen. This time I have no idea what is going on. The pump showed, the supplies have not. There was a company rep that was sending me unsolicited texts and emails UNTIL I started questioning things. It became very obvious very quickly that she was working an angle that I didn’t like or approve of. When I made that known to her she was no longer “Johnny on the spot”, threw a customer support number my way and became a ghost. If this bad experience would have happened once I could write it off as a bad person, but it seems to be the norm with this company.

Tandem T Slim with Libre 2 are worthless

I have been a type 1 diabetic for 30 years. I have been on insulin pumps since 2000. I have used Disetronic, , Minimed, Omnipod and now Tandem T Slim X2.

I have been using the T Slim for almost a month paired with Freeztyle Libre 2 Plus. This has been a disaster from the start. I began with an educator who taught me how to set up the pump. She told me that this pump will now pair with Freestyle Libre 3 Plus. That was wrong. I got my prescription and then figured out it wouldn’t work. Fortunately, CVS allowed me to exchange for a new prescription of Libre 2 Plus but a pain anyway. I had 4 infusion sets that have crimped immediately upon insertion. As of 9PM last night , my glucose remained in the upper 300s. This morning, I was able to get it down to normal (126) by taking a huge, abnormal bolus and exercising. I changed infusion sets and insulin and reinserted. It is in a place on my stomach that I haven’t used in years. My glucose continues to climb above 200 now. To make matters worse, the CGM is useless. It keeps saying that the sensor is out of range even though they are inches apart and facing each other with no obstruction. I think this is by far the most useless pump I’ve ever used. If you are planning to get one of these, look on the internet at other reviews. I’d be better off on shots.

Terrible company that profits…

Terrible terrible company that profits on diabetics and offers less than the bare minimum. The pump itself works great, but good luck getting supplies. They lie about fixing your orders and how prescriptions work. They constantly send my supplies to the wrong address and overcharge me. I will be switching to Omnipod because I cannot deal with such a corrupt company while trying to manage my health. Their “portal” is literally useless and does absolutely nothing. You have to call and be on hold for an hour just to ask for more supplies, where they will lie about how prescriptions work.

The tandem pump technology is great, but…

The tandem pump technology is great, but the pump doesn’t even come with the basics like a clip and keeping it on your body is difficult at times. I have tried clips from Amazon, but none hold the darn pump on. The tubing is awful. For these reasons I plan on trying to switch to another pump.

Do not like:( I choose shots over this…

Do not like:( I choose shots over this pump. Takes too long to refill and overall “too much”. Sites aren’t sticky enough either. I’ve had Disetronic, Animas, Medtronic, OmniPod before and this is not comparable. I stopped using after 1month, and that was generous. I would choose any of the above before this one

I'd give 4 stars for the staff assistance but 1 star is for the T-slim pump - it's decades behind, it takes 20 mins to change. It involves actually having to refil the insulin using a giant syringe and having to pull out air from the cartridge, - if I'd known this I'd never have chosen it. Antiquated.

Tandem promised my diabetic daughter…

Tandem promised my diabetic daughter that she would have her supplies today as we paid overnight shipping to do so. She leaves for college which is several hour away and we have no supplies. No communication AND I was charged for overnight and promised and I have nothing!

How does it get approval?

OK. Most of the reviews here seem to be from the USA, In Australia we have a different supplier (not Tandem itself). I'm now on my third pump in 18 months. Similar issues with both faulty pumps, i.e. unable to charge. First was a faulty charging port on the pump. Second was a software issue where the charging indicator stayed at 20%. After about 3 hours I rebooted the pump (yes I was tempted to boot it out of the window!) and lo and behold it said power was at 100%. Contacted the distributor (AMSL Diabetes) and had major arguments, firstly with the initial agent who insisted I should be using the "Official" Tandem charging cable, At this point let me say that I've been in the IT industry for over 50 years, since before these 14 yo "agents" parents were born! The port on the pump is micro USB. There is one pin to indicate if it's connected to a "device". Other than that micro USB was one of the worst designs ever. How is Tandem supplying Europe where USB C is now mandatory?
The software for the pump was written by someone in high school. No ability to bypass the 10 units wasted when refilling/changing the cartridge but not the infusion set. And my Autosoft sets don't have canulas so another shot of insulin wasted. Thank God I only pay $AUD 6.70 for 2 months supply! When I wake up and find that my infusion set has become dislodged the pump has been shooting insulin all over the place and thinks I have a squillion units on board! Why isn't there an option to tell the thing I have ZERO IOB??? I could always inject myself with that amount and give myself a hypo of course!
These things are medical devices. They're supposed to be designed sensibly by adults. My diabetes educator is trying to get me to change to the Medtronic. I think I'll discuss this at my next appointment next month.

I have been with tandem for 6 yrs now…

I have been with tandem for 6 yrs now and the company seems to be on a downward spiral. Over the past year I have had to call technical support 3 different times and have 3 different pump replacements. Each time I have had to contact them the kind of service and the demeanor of the reps has gone from bad to worse to horrible. I now am having an issue with the infusion sets not staying on and this took two different calls and the last rep was so short and snotty, I am beginning to consider going back to Medtronic.

The customer service is god awful

The customer service is god awful. They continually blame me for the problems with my pump telling me that I just don’t know how to use it. When there were clear problems with my old model they didn’t do anything but say “call back” and I ended up going into DKA cause the pump failed and we didn’t realize. They also hadn’t contacted me about my auto delivery, claimed they called or texted (I never got either) and unenrolled me from my auto reorder. When I finally called to get my pump supplies it then took another MONTH when I had a week of supplies left to get the supplies I needed. I’m 25 and had to use my mother to threaten them that if they continue this then she’s going to the better business bureau because they’re putting my life at risk.
