Taxrebate.ie need to be investigated

I received a tax rebate from revenue on the 4th of October for €461. I claimed this myself on the revenue.ie website as i became unemployed through illness in August. This money was paid into the account of taxrebate.ie, I had clicked on an advert maybe 2 years ago and inquired through them if I was due any tax back. I had completely forgotten this until taxrebate.ie notified me on October 8th that they had "successfully obtained a tax rebate " for me, they did nothing only receive my money. I sent them the details they requested and over 5 weeks later ive received nothing, no money, no communication, no notification. Only lately have I looked into this company and see so many others in the same situation. This company were also the subject of a piece on the Joe Duffy show. How this company are able to register successfully with the revenue commissioners and allowed to operate without anyone overseeing how they operate is a disgrace. How does Irish taxpayers money get paid to what is blatantly a fraudulent company that has been scamming people for the last few years. Why has revenue not acted against taxrebate.ie? What can be done to retrieve money stolen by this company?

Avoid at all costs, there are other companies

I could not say enough bad things about this company. Customer service is non existent. Information, follow up, answers updates you name it all non existent. Complete frauds. May or may not get the money in the end, way after the fact or in my case after I threatened legal action, but it is simply not worth it. How this company has not been shut down is a disgrace

No customer service - a horrendous experience

The most horrendous customer service I have encountered, indeed, that's an overstatement as I cannot judge what I did not get. I complete my own tax returns - do all the work myself. I have no idea how they became my agent and despite many requests, they have not furnished me with this proof. So the refund that I actioned was sent to them. EVENTUALLY they sent it to me but charged me circa €100 for the pleasure - I have chased them time and again to get a refund and proof of their appointment. I have been completely ignored - I have asked for their complaints procedure and details of who regulates them - I am at my wits end. I have mailed them again today asking if there is any possibility that I will get a response (not expecting one) and if not, then I am going to refer to the Ombudsman. This firm needs to be held accountable - shocking business practice

Stay well clear!!!

I got an email saying I was due tax back and they asked me to send on my photo Id and bank details which I did. Over a month later I received no payment and after 22 emails to them they kept on sending me the original email saying to send on my details which I already done so many times!! No contact number either? I don't know where to go from here? Or what to do? In order to get my money!! Am so annoyed....

This crowd advertise a lower commission…

This crowd advertise a lower commission than they actually take. My wife's €220 came to her as €260. I'm waiting for over a week on my €330 (less comission) but only get " it can take up to 4 days for money to arrive in your account" emails back from them. Stay away from them

Just found out they have my rebate since 19/01.

I have rendered my own tax since the 10/01 and expected this to go into my account as I had received a letter direct from revenue.

I have not been advised why this money has not been paid to my account and they have told me that this company were paid my tax rebate on the 19/01.

Concerned

Scum of the tax earth

Scum of the tax earth
Wife filled in a form online for tax rebate during covid.received small refund and took massive hit on fee. Fine, lesson learnt.
What didn't know is they received a large tax refund on our behalf next year and won't give the refund unless 30% deducted.
Revenue also couldn't give a toss.
Work from fake office in Cork and have not phone contact number.

STAY WELL AWAY FROM THEM.

Scam do not sign up

This company is not complying with their terms and conditions and are breaching basic consumer rights. Their fee is 30% despite other Irish tax rebate services charging a fee of 10%. This company is just out to make maximum profit and exploit innocent people who are less experienced in the Irish tax system. Was brought up on Joe Duffy - lots of people have unfortunately be used by this company.

NOT actually a scam, bear with me

Right so I went through what most of the reviewers are saying here, and I received my payment, but what actually happens is: first, you get a letter telling you they'll be changing the bank account on your Revenue.ie account to their own account details. The reason they do this is because your payment gets sent into that random bank account first, from where Online Tax Rebate takes 30% commission (not ideal, but guess they have to make their money somehow, so that's their payment for filling out the form for you which apparently is a really complicated form to get right on your own, but I wouldn't know). Then, they transfer you the rest of your money from that random bank account they put on your Revenue, into your personal bank account, but it's an absolute drag waiting for it to land. Just don't rely on receiving your money quickly, i.e. if you're depending on it to pay a bill that's due asap, because they'll send you the email requesting your ID and personal bank details first, that'll be on a Friday so you'll have to wait the whole weekend (or bank holiday weekend in my case!) before they send you the next email the following Friday confirming the amount you'll receive, then you'll have to wait another weekend before finally receiving your payment near the end of the following week, after checking your bank account every hour in the many days leading up to it and trying not to tear your hair out with frustration in the meantime! Some people are getting solicitors involved but believe me I work for a law firm and you'll only end up making a loss with solicitors' fees involved.

Tl;dr, it IS legit, but if you don't want the long wait and losing 30% of your money then you're better off filling in the form on the Revenue website on your own (I just didn't because I don't fully understand how tax stuff works and I'd rather receive some money than nothing). Good luck!

Fraud! Beware!

Completely fraudulent of this organisation on many counts. They should NEVER issue a client refund to their own account! They also have no right to use a client signature without their express consent. Beware of these tax rebate organisations that promise refunds, they are out to make a quick buck and disappear with your money before being held accountable.
People here need to keep writing to The Revenue Commissioners to advise them of this fraud, otherwise they will just carry on scamming people.
