Internet Radio gone off my CR-H700!!!!!

Support from TEAC non-existant.

WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER TEAC PRODUCT.

I bought an alleged high quality mixer/recorder, the TASCAM Model 24 and it immediately had a hum in the speaker and headphone outputs right out of the box. The dealer, American Musical, told me to contact the manufacturer. I did. NO RESPONSE. Apparently, a warranty repair request means that your contact information gets added to a solicitation list because I quickly started getting newsletters for the companies' products. I had to add them to SPAM to avoid seeing their solicitations. In the meantime, the equipment has been in a box, unused. If you get a usable device, good for you. If you get a broken device that is declared to be new, good luck getting it repaired or replaced. I feel compelled to repetitively repost this review so that it remains on top of others.

Teac makes Tascam. I purchased a DR-05X 4 years ago and used for fewer than 10 hours before placing it in my music cabinet WITHOUT batteries. The cabinet is next to my grand piano, in a climate controlled home.

Today, August 8, 2024, I placed batteries in it, pushed the ON button, and found it would not operate on battery power.

Teac customer service was very polite and candid. . .an honorable guy. But given the fewer than 10 hours use, and 4 years without batteries in storage, and self-destruction of the product, Tascam could offer no options.

Teac's quality for consumer products has taken a very deep dive since their 1970s high quality reel to reel tape recorders and and other studio equipment.
Japanese quality. . .not so.

I will now rely upon my Android phone that IS reliable.

I own a small 6 track digital recorder, that is no longer sold. I contacted Tascam/Teac for some help with a problem I was having understanding how to solve a recording problem I was having. When I called I got their answering machine and expected either to wait days for a response or to receive none. Instead, in less that 5 minutes I got a call back (and while that agent was helping me, someone else tried to call me back too!). He was apologetic about not answering when I called. I was thrilled at the speed of response. He was very helpful and gave me a few different ways that I could resolve the issue that I was trying to solve. This was not about a defect with the device, but rather my misunderstanding about a setting. Of the best companies for customer service out there!
