Camera fine. Bracket useless. Fitted directly onto recumbent disability trike. After a dozen journeys the camera flew off never to be seen again.

Faulty camera replaced after some hassle
My £150 helmet camera has always been difficult to charge, I reported this to Techalogic months ago and was told to only charge it in certain ways which I was doing anyway. Now it refuses to charge at all and is dead so I have asked to return it, however I’ve been given a load of information about resets etc that presume you can turn the device on, which I can’t because the battery is dead. I think the camera has been faulty from day one and I’m kicking myself for not being more assertive and insisting on sending it back when it first showed glitches. I’ll review my rating if Techalogic come back with a more helpful response than they have to date but so far it’s felt rather customer-blamey.
Update: I had to send the camera back at my own expense, but Techalogic acknowledged that the charging mechanism was faulty and have replaced it.
First test drive - HC-1
Early days with the HC-1 but a huge improvement in functionality and ease of use compared to GoPro. Simple to connect with phone Wi-Fi and the remote phone app function especially appreciated when riding a fairly jiggly pony. Gratifying to see how much more respectful drivers become in regards to slowing down, once they spot the HC-1 mounted on the hiviz head strap. One car driving too fast and coming up far too close to my pony’s backside, definitely backed off after seeing the camera. HC-1 is a super little camera, light, easy to use and is a must have for any equestrian looking for a road safety camera on a budget.
The DC-1 is well designed, very robust, a complete product and good quality.
Good points
Water resistance
It withstood heavy rain many times. When it did eventually get wet inside during a downpour, it didn't affect the operation for at least two years. It was easy to unscrew the covers and leave it in a warm place to dry.
More recently I dropped it a few times on uneven concrete, once or twice with the helmet. Lenses and cameras are unaffected, and barely a scratch to the body which is metallic. The mounting also held.
It never seems to accumulate dirt on the lens despite mud and salt spray.
Features
The remote is useful and as per notes you can mount it anywhere. Same for the camera with three mounts and two branded adhesive pads.
The resolution is acceptable, and has always captured the license plate.
Bad points
-I'm not sure if it was because the chip or charging slots have to be opened to charge without the permanent cord, or maybe it was the power button/microphone, but eventually water got in. As above it was ok for years.
-The DC1 isn't the highest resolution available on the market. (DC-2 Pro available now which may offer twice or 4x more detail)
-No side view, leaving a small blind spot each side. It would be good to include two low-quality side cameras for 360 view.
-The adhesive bracket for motorcycle helmets feels a bit crude and bulky. I had to try a few positions before it would allow me to turn my head to look backward. Tip- for modular helmets avoid the side or put it high up behind the visor.
The design is top quality. All said a great camera.
Fast delivery which is always nice
Fast delivery which is always nice. I had no problem setting it up for motorcycle helmet use, and it's nice to get washers and bolts to replace the thumbscrews to make it less bulky. Use of the app was easy enough and tutorials were clear. Footage that the camera took while I was messing around with it, even with the lens protectors on was clear, so I'm looking forward to trying it out in the next few days.
Battery last for 2 1/2 to 3hr maximum …
Battery last for 2 1/2 to 3hr maximum that’s no good for me when I’m riding the motorbike, unless you run a big lead down to the USB on the bike which will not be waterproof in the camera

Helmet camera mounts
I have had a techalogic helmet camera for the last 3 years, it has been used almost everyday and in all weathers and has been faultless.
I have just purchased 2 new helmet camera mounts on this occasion and the service from techalogic has been great.

We bought a HC1 equestrian camera for our daughters Christmas present. It failed to charge, which retrospectively looking on here is a common problem. When their "Tech Support" did sporadically reply, rather than admit it has a charging problem, they blamed SD cards, charging sockets, cables (they supplied) and Unbalanced cells. Poor company with poor products.
Edit
As the customer I cant agree with your analysis that the team made every effort to get to the bottom of the problem. Day/days passed before they would reply to emails. The incompatible charger comment was ridiculous. The device would draw the necessary current required. I pointed this out to your tech support who then brushed over that suggestion and moved on to the next pie in sky idea. Since we sent the device back that failed to charge, we have tried our friends HC1, which not only charges in our environment but works with the memory card. Next time rather than come up with tenuous excuses, listen to what the customer is telling you.
